The fabric shop was like a second home to Victoria. Her mother would send here their all the time to pick things out for new outfits she was going to make it. Tori smiled as she made her was to the shop that morning. Today Tori was going to try and make something on her own with a little help from her mum, it wasn't going to be another to hard to make just a skirt. She was very excited about this for some time now. Her mother was so wonderful at making outfits Tori hoped she could get the hang of it as well and be able to make some on her own. This was going to be new for the meister seeing as most of the time she just worked with watches and clocks. This was a whole new animal she would have to get used to but at least she knew how to pick out right right fabric and how many yards to get. That was also new to both her and her mother when they moved to the sates. Getting used to buying things in yards and not meters. Tori arrived at the shop at a good time of the day. Not may people where out and about yet and that was they way Tori liked to shop, for anything really. She wasn't for big groups of people, it made her feel uncomfortable. Tori walked into the shop and head to where the darker fabric was stored. Maybe she would also go and look at buttons and lace in a while as well. She couldn't help but have a smile on her face the whole time she looked at the colors. Now what color did she want this shirt to be? She had a lot of black and green ones. Maybe she would try for something new. Tori picked out a nice burgundy color and held it up against her. She thought about it for a couple of moments looking it over. She shook her head, a red color really? That wasn't her cup of tea now that she thought about it. Tori moved on to more Earthy colors and looked at them. Maybe she should just stick to her comfort zone and stay with a black or a green. Tori looked at a few of these colors but couldn't make up her mind. She really needed to step outside of her box and she made her was over to colors she rarely wore. Sh picked up a nice nave blue and looked at it for a while. Yes this would be a nice change! Tori hadn't worn a blue in a while. She pulled the bundle of cloth off the rack and made her way around the store to look at more things she might need.

The fabric store was probably one of Misaki’s favorite places to be in Death City. If she was present in the store, it was usually because she was working on another clothing project of hers, whether she was trying to sew a dress for herself or working on another cosplay of hers. Wandering about and seeing so many colors and patterns just made her giddy with excitement. It was a store full of endless possibilities to her, particularly with her dreams of being a fashion designer one day. On this particular day, though, Misaki was looking for particular colors and fabrics for her most recent cosplay venture though. This time around she was making a costume matching that of Homura Akemi from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She had the hair, height, and build to pull it was rather well so she thought she may as well go for it. Besides, it as something to do and she might also find other fabrics that caught her eye to make other things out of. Not scarves though. She had far too many already, but they were so easy to make she sometimes just couldn’t help herself. Still, her closet was already full to bursting with clothes so she took it as a sign that she may want to slow down on the sewing projects a bit. Misaki needed to go through all the clothes in her closet anyways, she was sure there had to be at least a few things she could give away to someone to make more space. Misaki was fortunate enough to get to the store early enough that it wasn’t too crowded. Then again, fighting her way through a crowd was always somewhat interesting. She remembered fighting rather determined mother for a bolt of quite pretty purple cotton once. She’d won too, but only because a nearby child had distracted her opponent. Luckily it didn’t seem like anything so exciting would happen on this morning. Wandering through the aisles, Misaki found the white cloth she needed rather quickly, as well as a purple so dark it was damn near black which would be perfect as well. Balancing the bolts of fabric in her arms was difficult what with being so small, and she did windup bumping into someone. The tiny Japanese girl stepped back a bit and apologized the goggle wearing girl, “Oops, I am so sorry! I didn’t see you there; I guess the fabric takes up more of my line of vision than I thought!”

Tori stumbled and dropped the cloth that she was holding. It was funny that the tiny Japanese girl had run into another girl about her same height. Tori fixes her goggles on her head and bends down to pick up her fabric that she dropped. She looks over to the other tiny girl a little shock that she found someone she was eye leave with at this school. It seemed like everyone what went here were freaking giants. Tori gives the girl a smile and speaks in her very British accent. Well if you where anyone else I would say you didn't seem her here because of my height but it seems we can see eye to eye and it's all right accidents happen around here."
She moves the fabric to that it is now settled under her right arm and she hold out her left hand to the girl. "Name is Victoria by the way but you can call me Tori." It takes her a few seconds to realize that she is holding out the wrong hand. It was hard sometimes to remember that you had to hold out your right hand when her dominate hand was her left.
Tori moves the fabric to the other side and gives a laugh holding out her right hand now. "Lets try this again. Hi my name is Tori. What's you name?" She gives the girl a kind smile. Tori was trying to best to make more friends around this school. As of right now she only had a few including her weapon Dante and she still had yet to meet his girlfriend thought him what he talks about she would rather let that meeting wait a while.

Oh good, the girl didn’t seem mad about Misaki bumping into her. That would have been problematic. She didn’t think that fencing with bolts of fabric was something she would be good at, although she was certainly not beyond throwing and running away. Thankfully that wouldn’t be needed, this girl seemed quite nice. She was right about the height thing, too. Misaki wasn’t one to quickly admit she was short, in fact most people who pointed it out wound up with a black eye. However this girl got a free pass if only because she was just as small as the tiny Japanese girl. In Japan Misaki was actually pretty average as far as height went, but in America everyone was taller. She’d have helped the girl pick up her fabric if Misaki didn’t already have her arms full.
Ah, so the girl was called Victoria! In addition she sounded British, so Misaki assumed that the whole Americans being taller thing didn’t really apply here. Whatever, Americans came from Britain originally so she supposed it all fit somehow. While Victoria was realizing she was holding out the wrong hand to shake with, Misaki snickered and adjusted the grip she had on the bolts of fabric she carried. She tucked the front of the bolts under her arm and let the ends rest on the floor, shaking the girl’s hand when she offered the right one,
“Name’s Misaki Saito. Pleased to meet you, Tori!”
Misaki was always in the mood to meet new people, it just provided more people to cause mayhem with. Granted, this girl didn’t seem like the type for setting off firecrackers in the classrooms around Shibusen, but she was definitely fashionable. The tiny Japanese girl couldn’t picture wearing Steampunk outfits every day, but what Tori was wearing was awesome and if she was at the fabric store, she probably sewed herself. If that was the case, then Misaki would finally have someone to go over patterns and such with and that would be just as much fun as having a prank buddy in her opinion,
“Love your outfit by the way. Do you sew too?”

The small British girl could help but smile at Misaki's question. She looked down at her outfit and then back up to her giving a little spin. "Why thank you very much Misaki. My mum made this for me." She stops on her heal facing the other girls again, noting that is it wasn't for the shoes that she was wearing at the moment the two girl may in fact be the same high or at least close to the same height. Tori just happened to wear shoes that made her normal people high. She then went back to answer the other question the girl posed to her. "Yes I do sew a little. just started to recently. My mum normally makes all of my clothing for me. . . Well almost all my clothing she isn't very good at making corsets, but I figured that I would give sewing a shot." She reaches up and fixes her goggles that become askew in the crash. " You see I am kind of a handy girl. My papa owns the clock shop in town and I often help him fix and make clocks and watches but I really love the work my mum can do with cloth. I mean it's kind of cool how she can make a something from basically nothing."
Tori then realizes that she was nervous talking again. This seemed to be a strange habit that she had picked up since she moved to this city. She gives a little smile and looks away from Misaki. "Oh but I mean I also really love your outfit as well. I haven't really seen to may people that are well dressed around here. I did think I saw a human rainbow running around the other day in nothing but her bra and pants." And by pants Tori of course meant her underwear. So do you make all your own outfit as well?"
She thinks for a moment and placing her hand on her chin as she thought. "Hey Misaki if you like you can come over to my place and you can sew with me and maybe teach me some things! I mean I don't very many people her in the city and I can tell you it would be a nice brake from the crazies that I have meet so far. So what do you think does that sound like fun?" slowly but surly Tori was going to try and make friends at this school. She was tired of having no one to hang out with and it would be so nice to have a girlfriend to hang out with as well.

While Tori explained how exactly she came to wear such an awesome outfit, Misaki couldn’t help but fell she was lucky. She’d taught her self to sew in order to cosplay. Her mother wasn’t exactly what you’d call skilled with a needle; in fact Misaki was pretty sure she’d wind up putting the needle through her own fingers rather than the fabric. Of course her mother had other hobbies she was good at, but she couldn’t help but think that it was really cool that Tori’s mom could do that. Plus her dad was a clock maker and Tori herself was apparently very handy. Misaki felt herself grin,
“That’s so cool! I wish my parents were as handy as that. My mom can’t sew worth a damn and my dad could probably break a clock just by looking at it knowing him.”
Being complimented on her own attire, Misaki didn’t run the risk of spinning around with bolts of fabric in her arms. Instead she just shifted her weight and stuck a hip out, snickering,
“Thanks! I try to look my best whatever the occasion is.”
Hearing the bit about a human rainbow, Misaki bit her lip to stifle a round of giggles. That certainly sounded familiar,
“Ah, that must have been Bang Bang you saw running around. She does that sometimes.”
Sometimes of course meant more like daily but Misaki didn’t mind considering Bang was one of her best friends and if she wasn’t crazy things wouldn’t be nearly as fun. At Tori’s question about whether she made all of her outfits herself, Misaki shook her head,
“Nah, not all of them. I mostly use sewing for cosplay. If I made all of my outfits I’d get so wrapped up in the work I probably wouldn’t ever leave the apartment.”
She snickered at the idea. She certainly turned into a hermit whenever there was a con approaching. Misaki usually wound up lying beside her sewing machine crying into the fabric several times during each project but it was always worth it in the end, stress or no. Shifting a bit, Misaki balanced the bolts of fabric more carefully in her arms so it didn’t feel like her arms were about to be pulled out of their sockets. Hearing Tori’s proposal, Misaki grinned at the British girl,
“Sure! I’m not doing anything after this. If you don’t mind following me to the line so I can get this stuff all paid for, I’d be glad to come over and teach you a few things.”

Tori couldn't help but smile when Misaki said that she would love to come to her place. Finely she was going to make a girlfriend! She could finely have someone to talk to other then that bothersome princes and her weapon. She did think back on the rainbow now knowing that her name was Bang Bang and thought it best that she stay away from that girl. She just looked like a world of trouble but it seemed Misaki knew her so Tor didn't bother saying this.
Tori was so excited to bring Misaki over to her place the only thing she worried about was her mum. She had a knack of embracing her when people where over. As they left the shop Tori motion for Misaki to fallow her. "This was my home isn't that far from here. Just a few block away." They approached the clock tower from the back and Tori unlocked the back door to let Misaki in. The door led into a back room where their washer and dryer where at. A place to store things and leave muddy shoes, but since there was no mud Tori didn't take off her shoes as she lead Misaki into the next room.
From that room they went threw the kitchen where it seemed her mother had started to cock something. Tori gave a sniff and then shook her head. "Corn beef and cabbage can my Mum be any more Irish?" She then lead Misaki off to an adjacent room. This was a farly large room with a big table in the middle of it. All around the walls hung spindles of thread and cloth was draped over many objects. It was very clear that this room was just meant for sewing.
Tori places her bag down on the table and pops her head out of the door and gives a sigh. "Good looks like Mum might be talking to Papa." She wanted to wait as long as she could before letting Misaki meet her mother. She turns back around and smiles at Misaki. "So yeah this is just a little glimpse of my home humm... Would you like anything to drink at all while we work on our outfits?"

One trip through the line and a receipt that Misaki would be hiding from her parents later, the two walked on out of the shop. Misaki was thankful fabric was foldable; otherwise she may have had more bags to carry which would have been troublesome. Luckily she hadn’t needed much. She’d probably return at some point to buy some things for detailing, but for now she was all set! Trotting along, she nodded to Tori as she instructed her to follow her home. Misaki saluted, nearly hitting herself in the face with one of her bags in the process but grinning nonetheless,
“Lead on, Tori!”
The tiny Japanese girl skipped along beside her newfound Victorian friend. This was so exciting for her! For one Tori seemed far more laid back than any of her other friends, which was a nice change of pace every once in a while, and she was interested in sewing. Her day had definitely taken a turn for the awesome in running into this girl by chance. Who knew the fabric store contained friends too? As they reached the back of the clock tower, Misaki looked up at the building in a sort of muted awe. Tori’s family lived here? That was so cool! Living in a clock tower was like something she executed t read in a manga, it was awesome.
Misaki followed Tori past a washer and dryer and through a doorway to the kitchen. The tiny Japanese girl was hit in the face by the delicious smell and paused for a moment before hurrying along after Tori. She didn’t knw what corn beef and cabbage was, but if it smelled that tasty it couldn’t possibly be bad. Newfound fact though, Tori’s mother was Irish! Another cool thing about her. Then again Tori was turning out to be a pretty cool chick all around. The next room made Misaki stop and stare a bit. It was amazing! Cloth and thread draped over things of all colors and patterns! The tiny Japanese girl blinked before a rare, crooked smile appeared on her face as she jumped up and down in the doorway,
“Tori, this is so amazing! I’ve never seen anything like this!”
She heard Tori say something about her mother and father but missed it in her excitement. The tiny Japanese girl stared around at the room with wide eyes, absolutely enthralled with the place. This was more like her vision of heaven if she ever saw one, even more so than the clearance bins at the fabric store! Somewhat clumsily, Misaki set her bags down on the floor for a brief moment to slip of her shoes and put them to the side of the doorway out of habit. She then picked the bags up again and set them down next to where Tori had put hers, answering her newfound friend in the process,
“Tea would be fantastic if it’s not too much trouble.”
