Saito; Misaki;Meister
Name: Misaki Saito
Nickname: Misa, Kiki
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Race: Meister
Position: Student
Class: Two Star
Partner: Dion Key
A Strong Body
Picture:
Appearance: Misaki is quite short at only 5’1”. She has a slight build with only vague curves, her body lean with toned muscle from years of martial arts. She is pale in complexion but not severely so, perfectly capable of developing a light tan in the summer. Misaki had black hair that falls to her waist. She leaves it loose for the most part but will tie it up for missions or training. Her eyes are a warmer shade of brown and almond shaped.
In terms of fashion, Misaki dresses to kill. As an aspiring fashion designer herself, she takes great pride in how she looks and puts a great deal of thought into her outfits. She only wears jeans or pants of any sort if necessary for training or if the weather demands it. Otherwise, you’ll see her wearing skirts with leggings or tights on underneath. Misaki generally matches those with appropriate tank tops or tees, but of course owns a few long sleeved get ups for colder weather. No matter what she wears, she always throws a jacket on over it as she gets cold easily. Her makeup is flawless and jewelry is a must to complete any getup. While she owns shoes for every occasion, Misaki prefers ankle boots.
Height: 5’1” .
Weight: 120lbs
Fighting Style: Misaki enrolled in kendo back when she was in Japan as a school activity and is moderately skilled in it still as she’s kept it up as a form of training, able to complete all of the basic forms, strikes, and footwork. She was also enrolled in Shotokan Karate at the age of eight, a style rooted in long stances, stability, and powerful movements that gives strength to the legs. Misaki pushed herself to stand out against her siblings the older she got and progressed to a brown belt before her leaving for Shibusen. She utilizes the strong stance and kicks of Shotokan more than anything else, rarely throwing punches and relying too much on her speed to risk grabs. She keeps fluid motion standard to those skilled in the style and relies heavily on the footwork to keep her going, building momentum to make her hits more powerful and to make dodging easier.
Personality: Misaki is a handful, plain and simple. Mischievously playful and all around crass, she can get into a fair bit of trouble occasionally offend people if she isn’t careful. She generally doesn’t mean what she says in a bad way, sarcastic remarks and run-on sentences pouring from her lips frequently without a whole lot of filter. Her go-getter attitude coupled with how into laughter she is can be a bit overwhelming for some people, but she’s just out for a good time.
The resident prankster at Shibusen, Misaki’s done everything from filling lockers with crickets to hijacking the intercom system to blast dubstep instead of the usual ringing bell. Her default is a wicked grin, and though she can appear the very incarnation of a lit firecracker, she’s really quite nice. Loyal to the end and protective of her friends, she’s up for anything if fun is involved, especially if it comes with a bit of moral ambiguity. She’s the type to be confident in everything she does, sometimes overly so, but Misaki is very good at backing it up. There’s bite to her bark, so to say.
Misaki works hard and aims to be the best at everything. She sets a very high standard for herself that’s rooted in good old-fashioned sibling rivalry. She pushes herself hard to reach her goals, whether it’s school or training or her future career aspirations. She keeps her grades high and her fighting skills honed. If you set aside all the weirdness and chaos that follows her around, she’s actually a pretty adequate role model. Well, aside from her extensive detention record. She can’t pull off clean getaways all the time, after all, even if she does have an exceptionally hard time staying still.
As raring to go as Misaki is, she can get a little hot-headed. She can start shit if she doesn’t like someone, and she’ll shit talk them a lot, but she’ll usually wait for them to come to her if it devolves into an actual physical fight. Nervous isn’t a feeling she’s familiar with and really throws her off. She’s hard to scare and negative emotions are usually overpowered by her usual attitude of being ready to divide and conquer at any given moment. If she does feel down, she’ll get quiet and generally withdraw, keeping to herself which is highly unusual and surefire indicator that something’s wrong.
Inside the Soul
Abilities: Soul Purge: The ability that was what Misaki discover that she was a Meister when she first encountered it. My gathering her wavelength, Misaki is able to deliver successful Soul Purges through a punch and a kick, via hand or foot. On contact, her wavelength leaves in a powerful blow that knocks her opponent down and sends a good shock through them as a result of her Pulse Wavelength. She’ll vary depending on what she thinks will down her opponent easier.
Soul Perception: Misaki is new to Soul Perception and has yet to extend her range that far. While activating it, she’ll close her eyes for a moment and then reopen them as a way of keeping her focus. Once activated, she can see the souls of the people around her and distinguish them at basic levels between human and Kishin Eggs, colors and whatnot. At current, Misaki’s range is ten feet.
Pulse Wavelength: Misaki has something called a Pulse Wavelength. What this does is basically fill her up with excess soul wavelength, more than your average Meister. This results in her wavelength based attacks being hyped up with more energy and power. Her Soul Purge carries a meaner blow and stuns a bit sharper. Her Soul Perception is clearer, and her resonances with Dion are amped up a bit because of it.
Resonances:-Amenonuhoko- Character Name(s): Dion Key and Misaki Saito
Name: Amenonuhoko “Heavenly Jeweled Spear”
Type: Soul Resonance
Class: Resonance
Picture:
Description:
天沼矛
Amenonuhoko is the name given to the naginata in Japanese mythology used to raise the primordial land-mass, Onōgoro-shima, from the sea. According to the Kojiki, the gods Izanagi and Izanami were responsible for creating the first land. To help them do this, they were given a naginata decorated with jewels, named Ame-no-nuboko. The two deities then went to the bridge between heaven and earth, Ame-no-ukihashi ("floating bridge of heaven"), and churned the sea below with the naginata. When drops of salty water fell from the tip, they formed into the first island, Onōgoro-shima. Izanagi and Izanami then descended from the bridge of heaven and made their home on the island
Amenonuhoko creates a union between Dion and Misaki that is visible in Dion’s transformation. Firstly is how Dion physically changes from a relatively simple and plain looking spear into an eccentric form albeit lacking a truly jeweled appearance. Starting in his extended state Dion takes on a silver coloration and becomes a simple solid spear with two tips. These tips seem to grow into a more bladelike form before the rest flares out into an eccentric circular shape adorned with multiple spikes. After the transformation Dion remains the same 6’ and the shaft of his weapon remains the same size/shape, not changing the form enough to throw off Misaki. This form alone changes how Dion can be used in combat but the true power of this resonance lies in something less concrete. In this form Dion gives off a bluish-green glow that originates from the combination of his and Misaki’s wavelengths. The light covers Dion in this state but is not a simple illumination; the light seems to move around Dion in a consistent pattern.
The reason for this is that the union of Dion and Misaki enhances both of their wavelengths. The light around Dion is actually the excess wavelength they produce so upon contact with someone/thing it shocks the target with a weak soul purge like effect, at most this feels like a small shock. Another byproduct of this is that Dion’s form has an increased sharpness to it, enhancing his cutting/stabbing ability. Now for the true strength of this resonance! All the enhanced wavelength the two have gains strength as it bounces back and forth. At the will of Misaki that collected wavelength can be released from either of Dion’s blades. When doing so the blade that will release the blast glows even brighter as it gathers the wavelength together. From the tip of the blade the wavelength is released in the form of a small concussive burst and a weaker secondary burst. A total of five burst can be used before the resonance forcefully breaks and drains the two of their wavelengths.
This form is definitely not without consequence. The constant expense of wavelength by itself causes some drain for the two but the burst even more so. Forcing the combined wavelength out of the blade drains the two of their wavelength as well as causing stress for Dion, he is still getting soul purged after all. The resonance breaks after five blasts because after that the two no longer have enough wavelength or energy to support the form. They are not completely exhausted but will be weary after, just stable enough to continue fighting while their wavelengths recharge. After the resonance Misaki’s soul purges will be weakened while Dion cannot enter partial or extend, he also suffers from quite the headache.
Strengths: • Now capable of cutting/slashing • Adds an element of surprise to attacks • Attacks are more damaging • Can directly attack the soul upon contact. • Burst can be used to unbalance opponents as well as cause massive damage. Damage and effect are based on the position of the spear when the blast goes off. • Secondary burst can knock an enemy away or unbalance a larger foe. • Due to the enhancing of the wavelengths the two feel great during the resonance. Some of their injuries may feel healed and they gain a small adrenaline boost.
Weaknesses: • Can only be used twice per thread • Limit of 20 total post (10 each) •20 post cool down (10 each) Time is needed to gather their wavelengths and regain energy. • Dion still suffers from a headache after the resonance ends • Misaki’s soul purge is weakened for 3 post after ending. Dion is limited to his retracted form for the same time (also cannot go partial) •When the resonance ends the effects of the boost instantly stop. Any pain comes crashing back and their energy drops. |
Out of your MindStrengths: Martial Arts Training Intelligent Agile Weaknesses: Strategically Inept Low Pain Threshold Low Endurance Hobbies: Karate – Having practiced in this martial art since she was young, Misaki is highly skilled when it comes to Karate. With her determination to be the best and always be ready for anything, she trains frequently to keep her skill and delivery of said skills in top performance.
Ikebana – Japanese flower arrangement. This started out more as a last ditch effort by Misaki’s mother to get her to be a proper young lady. What started as a forced almost punishment is now something Misaki truly enjoys. It could also just be that the girl loves flowers and thinks they're, but who knows.
Sewing – Misaki has high hopes of one day becoming a fashion designer. In the spirit of this, she sews a whole bunch of things. From clothes she wears every day to cosplay, she loves to sew and has gotten quite good at it. She takes great pride in it and will spend days or even weeks perfecting things just right. History: Misaki Saito was the second child born to Takashi and Kumiko Saito on December 9th. Misaki was born in Kyoto, Japan. Her older brother Yuu was born three years prior and her younger sister Naomi would be born three years after Misaki. Her early life in Japan was about what you would expect. With both of her parents preferring to work, she and her siblings ended up visiting their grandparents frequently. She was brought up in an environment that commended manners and upheld tradition. Even at a young age, Misaki appeared to embody the exact opposite of those things. Shy though she may have been in her younger years, she always managed to make mischief somehow, and it only got worse when she entered the school system. During grade school, she and her brother were both enrolled in Shotokan Karate, and when Misaki hit middle school she joined the Kendo club. That was a might short-lived, though. Shortly after Misaki turned twelve, her father got an irresistible job offer in the US, and the family moved to Seattle. The Saito family has produced many a Meister over the years, and her parents Takashi and Kumiko expected their children to be no different. For years they fixated on their first born son, assuming that he would be it. Having to stand out for attention created discomfort between the three siblings, resulting in rivalry that continues to this day. Even so, their parents were slowly beginning to feel as though Yuu were a lost cause. No Meister was this much of a late bloomer. This in mind, they continued to attempt to reign in Misaki. Releasing frogs in the school bathrooms was not how a young lady should act, in their opinion. When Misaki was thirteen would be a huge turning point. While practicing karate with her brother, Misaki mistakenly gathered her wavelength and punched in the stomach with a Soul Purge. After Yuu had the wind knocked out of him, it was readily apparent that he was clearly not the child of theirs destined for Shibusen. She was the Meister child they had wanted, and Naomi would prove to be so too a few years later. Misaki was given more attention from her parents then she’d ever received before and it was highly unnerving for her. Their parents had unwittingly pitted their children against each other for years, and now they wanted to let her to let them groom her? Misaki didn’t like that idea one bit. Misaki was suddenly the golden child. While not one to comply with their requests, Misaki did push herself to get better; it was habitual by this point. She would fight monsters one day, they told her, she would continue the family tradition. Misaki would have been lying if she said she wasn’t excited. Both parents being Meisters, each having made it to Three star during their school years, she and her siblings got to hear stories of when they were at Shibusen now that they knew at least one child would follow in their footsteps. Her parents wouldn’t figure out that fixating on one child was cruel until just before Misaki left for Shibusen, unfortunately making it so that the three siblings were hell-bent on perpetually one-upping each other. With Misaki refusing to tone it down and having used their recent affectionate streak to get away with even more mischief, they managed to dial it back at least a little and began disciplining her again, not that it did much good. Misaki would leave for Shibusen at sixteen. With her parents proud but still worried given her tendency to be a crass and disobedient child, they suggested that Yuu go with her. Both siblings shot that idea down instantly on the grounds that they would probably kill each other before the plane ever landed. Besides, Yuu already had enough on his plate with college, and Naomi was still a touch too young to be following her sister just yet. In going to Shibusen, Misaki would thrive. She couldn’t get off the plane fast enough when she reached Death City. Not long after her arrival, on an oddly rainy day for a desert, she would meet her Weapon, Dion Key. Extra Notes: - Misaki owns a Vespa and drives it haphazardly through Death City quite often. - Misaki has a rather odd obsession with feather boas has and has an insane number of them hidden in a trunk in her closet. - Misaki and her two siblings, Yuu and Naomi, tease each other relentlessly when in the same area. - Misaki owns a cat given to her on a rare occasion of kindness by her brother. Her name is Kiku - Sloppy makeouts on the roof, bro! Behind the strings Alias: Leila Other characters: Dante Giovanni, Lior Menke, Arlie Davis, Jin-Eun Song, Zuri Kidawa Face Claim: Senjougahara Hitagi, Bakemonogatari RP Sample:
Ah yes, Vespa chaos. The activity of speeding down the roadways of Death City and weaving through traffic rather haphazardly was a favorite past time of theirs by now. Speeding always got them to their destination much quicker than just obeying the speed limit after all, or so Misaki thought. Plus it was just more fun to go faster. It didn’t help that she’d found various short cuts throughout the cities alleyways and had set up trash cans and boxes and things to make them into more of an obstacle course. Such an insane line up sounded like the exact thing she and Dion needed to get back on the crazy train they usually rode through life,
“Will I did just recently set up some new ramps in that one alley near my apartment.”
Misaki tapped a finger to her chin in thought. After a moment of quiet contemplation and mapping out a route in her head, an absolutely devilish grin appeared on the tiny Japanese girl’s face,
“Do you think you’re up for a new short cut?”
She doubted that Dion would say no, but figured that it was polite to ask anyway. With her driving tendencies it was a wonder that the two hadn’t wound up in a terrible accident yet. How she managed to not run headfirst into a stop sign every time she turned on the ignition was a mystery to most who knew her. Then again she’d managed to drive up the Shibusen steps once. She’d had to walk the Vespa back down and change its tires after classes though. For some reason that triggered an amazing thought in Misaki’s mind. She turned to Dion with a mystified expression on her face,
“Dion, what if I could drive the Vespa with my thoughts?”
A terrifying statement coming from Misaki. Except she pictured this possibility as being totally awesome. She wouldn’t have to use the handlebars or anything. It would look so badass to just be sitting there while the piece of machinery seemed to drive itself, but really it was just Misaki using her awesome telepathic abilities. There was only one downside that she could think of which really would ruin the entire experience. She scowled,
“Wait a minute that means if I thought about what it would be like to drive off a bridge it would really drive off of one. That I don’t think would end well. Oh well. It was something to think about at least.”
