Bring fan up. Two steps to the right. Turn. Place hand like so. Spin. Move fans in large circles. Bend knees. Turn fan. Move it just so. Small steps forward. Chiyo was alone in the dojo today. As of late, she had preferred coming in to practice her dancing, as it was generally unoccupied at this time of the morning. Her grandmother had decreed that her dancing not get rusty, and Chiyo had no complains, but practicing in front of her mirror in her bedroom wasn't the same. The tatami mats felt more natural under her feet than the carpet in her room. The only issue was her outfit - practicing in her normal school clothing seemed weird to her after years of wearing only kimonos. At home, it was easy enough to quickly put on a yukata (with her grandmother helping tie the obi sash at the back) but when she danced formally, she wore heavy dress kimonos that took at least two hours to put on, not to mention the elaborate hairstyle and makeup, and she wasn't going to chance ruining one of her prized kimonos just for practice. Instead, she had brought an old yukata she had worn to a summer festival a few years ago and dressed herself in a school bathroom. She had tied the obi strangely in the back, but otherwise it would have to do. Pretty good for no help! She had fussed with it for five minutes before giving up. Her regular clothing was folded away neatly in her backpack, and she had brought her favorite fan and a small CD player, containing a CD with some stock music used for geisha recitals. Usually it was played live, but she wasn't going to find someone who could play the shamisen in Nevada. She did another few steps, moving her palms up, moving the fan in a wide arc and holding it open against her back before gracefully bringing it back to her front in one fluid motion, holding it horizontally in front of her. She always felt so relaxed when she danced, especially alone. It was very calming. When she was back in Kyoto, it had been her favorite part of maiko training. Performing for the crowds for the festival had been her greatest joy, and although she enjoyed Shibusen and the experiences she was having, she missed home. The song finished and she snapped her fan open and placed it over her face, posing as she waited for the next song to start.

Akuma had spent the better part of his day wondering around the school. This place was like a maze and his class would be starting soon; better to know his way now then be late once they started. He had gotten lost a few but it didn’t bother him nor did he let it show. He stayed as cool as ever and didn’t bother asking for help he knew he would find his way again in no time.
He had heard from a group of other students that the school had a dojo. That was something he was interested in seeing. He had never really had a place to hone his skills and now he could in a better environment then the streets. He made his way around and finely found the place and it was all but empty. Akuma cocked his head slightly as he walked into the room.
He knew the music that was playing but this was the last place he expected to hear it and to him that could only mean one thing. Sure enough there she was, it had to be the beginning of her dance and she stayed silent as he wanted her. He would have never gotten the chance to see a geisha dance back home but he knew about them. Everyone in Japan knew about them. He could only watch and wounded why a girl like this would be at this school. Did those geisha have rules and things like that?
When the song ended he clapped his hands slowly walking more into the room. He couldn’t help but hold a bit of a smug look on his face. He had been there the whole time and she didn’t even know it. He stopped clapping and put his hands into his pockets looking the girl over and speaking to her in Japanese.
”You’re a long way from Kyoto. What happened get kicked out and had to run away to America to hind your shame?”
Akuma couldn’t help himself this girl represent so many things that bothered him and he hated. She was from a higher class in society and he was from an underground one. Geisha’s where known for having expensive clothing that was bought for them; he didn’t know they had to pay it off all he knew is that more than likely the yukata she had on right now was a gift. He gave her a very devilish grin now waiting to see what she would say to him. Was she as soft spoken as everyone said the geisha were?

Chiyo had been so focused on her dancing that she hadn't even noticed the newcomer. The song finished, and she closed her fan, feeling happier than she had in a while. She wondered what her mother and father were doing back at home - it was hard to practice her dancing without thinking of them. And what of the okiya? How were they? Maybe she'd give them all a call later. Her practice session had been very successful, so maybe her grandmother would-
She was startled out of her own mind when the clapping started. Chiyo turned, surprised, and for the first time noticed the young man standing in the dojo. He probably had entered while she was dancing. He was dressed very casually, perhaps hoping to train in the dojo - Chiyo tried very hard not to notice that he wore no shirt and he wasn't exactly out of shape. She adjusted her headband, suddenly embarrassed by the male attention, but froze when she saw his facial expression. Such a smug, condescending grin. Chiyo felt her body tense, her hand lowering to her side, suddenly cautious. She tightened the grip on her fan, her knuckles turning white as he spoke. How dare he?
<<I left of my own accord,>> she nearly snapped in response. What was with this guy? His first words were insults! In Japanese, no less! Her first conversation with a student in her own language, and he had to be a jerk. To insult her this way - ! <<I was not kicked out.>> She crossed her arms, glaring at him, trying very hard to be polite but finding it difficult. She took a deep breath and knelt down to disconnect the CD player, hands shaking slightly. <<If you need the space, I'll be leaving soon,>> she said, a bit more curtly than she meant. She didn't mean to be so rude, but this guy... Chiyo had never encountered so much hostility before. In Kyoto, geisha were considered important to the cultural history. Chiyo had never been accused of anything in her life, and wasn't going to stick around to see what other rude things this guy had to say.

Akuma watch the girl as she started to gather up her things. Well that didn’t take long for her to get upset but she was just still so polite about it. Her voice did seem to hold an air of being upset but this was a girl that was trained to hold back her feelings. Now normally he would have just let her go and would have left it at that but just looking at her mad him upset. He just had to find the one person in this school that reminded him of everything that he would never have.
He moved now to block the door with his body placing his hand in his pockets and leaning on the frame of the door. He cocked his head slightly to that part of it was resting on the frame of the door as well. His eyes where sly and a slight grin passed over his face again.
<<No I don’t think I am going to let you leave quite yet. You see I’m a little lonely and you happen to be the only other person around here that speaks Japanese that I have found.>>
He gave a little laugh now moving to lean in closer to the girl his light eyes looking into her dark ones. Even if what she was he didn’t like he couldn’t deny the fact that she was pretty cute even more so now that he was closer to her and had a better look at her face. The grin on his face widened now as he looked at her.
<<What do you say you stick around and show me that tea ceremony I have always heard so much about? I’m sure you are familiar with deal with yakuza gang members even if you didn’t know what they were at the time. Come one how about it? Just one little show?>>
What he was asking was simple enough but the way that he was speaking just had a sexual undertone and honestly that is what he was going for. Geisha where women of refinement and not something as lonely as a courtesan or prostitute but Akuma was dropping subtle hint in what he just asked her that made it would like he thought she was something else.

Giving the man in the doorway a cold look, Chiyo bit back a bitter reply. She didn't care if he was lonely. Acting vaguely threatening towards someone wasn't a good way to go about making friends. Everything was packed, her backpack on and her cd player in her hand, geta on her feet, and she made to move by, but he just wouldn't move. He was effectivly blocking her exit, and Chiyo took a deep breath. As a geisha and as a female, she had gotten a lot of unwanted attention from men, but none so openly forward as this guy was. Chiyo wanted to get away, a knot starting to form in her stomach, but she gritted her teeth, her grip on the cd player tightening.
At the mention of yakuza, however, Chiyo's skin crawled and she felt cold, her eyes going wide. She instinctively took a step back. She was very familiar with the yakuza. They weren't allowed in the tea houses or the okiya, although the signs usually were banning tattoos, but the message was clear. The yakuza were heavy into the red light district and similar industry, and had been for years, selling and buying prostitutes and sex workers. Chiyo knew very well what the guy blocking the door was insinuating, and it pissed her off. Chiyo was not someone who angered easily, but he was not only making her uncomfortable, but implying that she was a prostitute! It was enough to make her blood boil. She was nearly ready to soul purge him in the gut, but she held back, taking a deep breath again to calm herself.
Chiyo looked him dead in the eye. <<I don't know who you are, but move away from the door and let me though,>> she said evenly, trying her best not to shout, although her voice was tense. <<Please,>> she added, although she said it more because she was brought up polite more than because she felt like being polite. She didn't owe this guy any kindness, not after what he was saying - and his gang affiliation didn't endear him any more to her. It did explain his rude behavior, but didn't excuse it. <<In any case, I don't have anything for a tea ceremony here with me,>> she added, a touch annoyed. If he continued to block her path and generally be lascivious at her, she'd gladly use force to remove him.

He gave a low laugh now looking at her. Though she may not have meant to show it he did see her take a step back when she told her what he was but she rebounded quickly enough for his liking. It would have been fun to mess with her more if she was scared of him but this would work just as well. When she approached her raised an eyebrow at her as she looked him dead in the eyes and asked him to move. What did it take to break these geisha? Even now after he insinuated that she a prostitute she still said pleas? This was become a fun game for him.
He crossed his arms over his chest as she looked down at her not moving his body an inch. What was it going to take to get this girl to stop being so polite to him. He was going to be a total dick and push as many buttons as he could until she snapped. Why? Because it was going to be fun for him to see how much a geisha needed to be pushed before they broke and acted like everyone else. How much would her training pay off?
<<Well if you like to know back home they call me Demon. Come on sweet thing stay a while longer I promise I won’t bite… Much.>>
He gave a little frown when she informed him that she didn’t have anything with her to perform a tea ceremony and it’s true that he honestly had no idea what she needed in the first place. Well she did have her fan with her he knew that for a fact. A sly grin passed over his face as he obviously looked Chiyo over.
<<Well then why don’t you do one of those fan dances I just saw. I know you have what you need for that. If you dance for me I might just move out of the door way or.>>
He leaned in a lot closer now placing one hand on her shoulder and reaching up with the other to move her hair back away from her ear. He lean in and whispered in a seductive tone to her.
<<You could make me move.>>
((side note I made his say demon because that is what Akuma is in Japanese))

Clenching her jaw, Chiyo stood as still as a stone while Demon - Akuma - talked. Was he trying to rile her up on purpose? Chiyo took another deep breath to calm her nerves and began to think.
He had asked her for a fan dance, and if he had been polite from the start and not so obviously creepy she might have said yes. The way he was acting now, however, put her more in mind of someone that would end up on a wanted poster like in American cowboy movies. She would never dance for him.
Suddenly, Akuma bent over and started to touch her hair, leaning in to whisper in her ear. Chiyo barely registered what she was doing, but in a split second after the words left his mouth she had twisted her body and smashed the CD player with all her strength into his side, stepping away quickly to the side as she let go, her fingers numb from gripping the handle so tightly.
<<Don't touch me,>> she spat, her politeness forgotten. It was past the point for formalities. He was making her uncomfortable and touching her when she obviously had no intention of continuing the conversation. Chiyo's dark eyes narrowed at Akuma, and her hands balled into fists. If he touched her again, she would give him a Soul Purge right into his gut.
<<What is your problem?>> She nearly yelled. <<I don't want to talk to you! Let me go!!>>
It occurred to her that he was looking for this sort of reaction. He seemed like the kind of person who enjoyed the fear of others. He was yakuza, after all. Intimidating and molesting women was probably a hobby of his. Wishing Bang was with her, Chiyo circled around Akuma, trying for the door without getting too close to him.
<<Let me go,>> she repeated, her tone quieter and less frantic, but there was a quaver there that betrayed her fear. Her heart was beating so hard it hurt inside her chest, jumping up her throat in fright, but she forced herself to stay calm. Remember what father taught you, she reminded herself. Remember what you did to bullies when you were young. Chiyo braced herself for a fight, sliding her foot back into a more stable stance and tightening her fists.

Akuma’s hand instantly went to his side after the cd player had hit it. It hurt, it acutely hurt and while he wouldn’t say it he was impressed that such a skinny thing could hit so hard. Rubbing his side for a moment before he removed his hand from there. The girl had backed off and it was clear now that she was scared of him. He listened to her and watched her walk around him to see if she could find a way out. There was no chance of that happening he was in the door way still. His light eyes followed her and whiles her narrowed at him his brighten with delight. He got a real reaction out of her.
<<My problem? I don’t have a problem with you. It just everything you stand for. Everything you are and everything you do. That is what I have a problem with. You Geisha are so fake in every way shape and form. You play this persona of an unobtainable doll and it pissed me off.>>
He now moved closer to her ignoring the fact that she told him not to touch her. He grabbed her by her shoulders and spun her around so that now her back was facing him. His grip tight on her shoulders so that she couldn’t move away from him. He leaned down again whispering in her ear once more.
<<I know why you paint your faces the way you do and why you leave that little part of your neck exposed.>>
At the mention of the beck of her neck he moved one of his hand slightly to run his index finger down that part of her neck.
<<If you are going to tease like a courtesan then why don’t you just become one. You’re obi is in the wrong place.>>
At that he grabbed her obi and untied it quickly, something he knew how to do a little too well. He pulled the fabric now knowing full well that it was wrapped around her a few time causing the girl to spin out away from him. When the fabric was pulled away he threw it at her seeing that her yukata was now loose and grinned at her.
<<You should put it in the front where it belongs.>>

His face brightened, and Chiyo felt a sick pit in her stomach, her entire body going numb. She was scared. Her horror books, the late-night monster movies, the ouija boards and ghost stories were nothing compared to this. She thought she was stronger than this. She never batted an eye at chapters upon chapters of danger, fear, blood and guts - this was worse. This was real. If he wanted to hurt her, he could, and she suddenly felt small and weak.
His hands gripped her shoulders, and she cried out, trying to force herself away, but his hands were like vices, clamped down. He whispered in her ear, and she shied away, shoulder going up and her skin crawling. Chiyo could feel the hot pricking of tears in her eyes. As soon as his finger started tracing her neck she hunched her shoulders, her fear suddenly turning into white hot anger.
<<I'm not teasing anyone,>> she said though clenched teeth, trying to move away, but he seized her obi and - no thanks to her clumsy job of tying it - yanked it off, causing her to spin away, teetering, trying to get her balance. She didn't speak for a long moment, staring at the obi near her feet blankly. She didn't bother trying to cover herself - she was wearing shorts and a sports bra underneath her yukata, of course, since she wasn't about to get all dressed up for practice. She had actually just been lazy since she had to change in the school bathroom, so she had put the yukata on over her gym attire. But it wasn't her lack of proper clothing that made her furious. It was Akuma. She bent to pick up her obi with her left hand, struggling to keep her frustrated, frightened tears in.
<<You don't seem to understand what I've been saying,>> she said, her voice dangerously soft. <<I said. Don't. Touch. Me.>>
Forming her right hand into a fist, she flung it at his face, smashing it against his nose in a satisfying, solid connection.
<<If you come near me again,>> she said, backing away, shaking out her stinging hand and clutching her obi tight with her other, <<I'll break something other than your nose.>>
She turned on her heel, leaving the cd player behind, bolting out of the room. The tears flowed freely now, and she ran as hard as she could, ignoring the splint in her side and the blurring of her vision. Her only thought was to get away, as far as possible, from that demon.

Akuma grinned as he saw the fear and frustration in the girl’s eyes after he removed the obi from her. This is what he was looking for to see this girl behind the white paint of the Geisha. He saw the change in her face and now she was pissed off but Akuma made no more moves towards her but she on the other hand made a move at him. In all honesty he was expecting to get slapped in the face and forgetting for a moment that he was at a school full of other students that could or knew how to fight. He felt her fist make concoct with this face and he pulled back grasping at his nose now.
He could feel the warmth of his own blood running down his chin. She might have just broken his nose with that hit. He started to laugh as she ran out of the room getting a view for a moment that told him that she was about to cry or maybe was even crying now. When she left he moved his hand that was holding his nose cracking it back into place and wiping the blood from his mouth and chin. That girl could hit and even if he didn’t respect her for what she was he could respect her for that. It had been years since anyone broken his nose.
Akuma looked around the room for a moment and spotted the girl’s CD player. In her hurry to get as far away from him as she could she had left it behind. He walked over to it picking it up and looked it over spotting the girl’s name on it.
<<Fukui Chiyo huh? Well Chiyo I can’t wait till I see you again.>>
He wiped some more blood off his face before turning and leaving the dojo taking the CD player with him. He had no intention of giving it back to her but he would keep his guard up the next time he ran into little Chiyo.
