O'hara; Blaine; Meister
Name: Blaine O'Hara
Nickname: Blaine
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Race: Meister
Position: Teacher
Class: Graduated Meister
Partner: N/A
A Strong Body
Picture: Link link link
Appearance: Blaine's black hair is indicative of his Irish heritage, especially when kept as it is; a messy, nameless style. It goes in stark contrast to his pale skin, which is soft to the touch and delicate. His face, which bears a soft expression, is framed by a pair of bottom-rimmed glasses with black bands. His body is quite slim and doesn't have much in the way of muscle definition, giving him the appearance of the studious type. His fingers are quite slim as well; some may call them pianist's fingers, but he prefers to call them "adept and skillful for the use of the pen." His eyes are keen and azure.
He can usually be seen wearing what some may call clothes for a bore. His usual attire consists of a plain blue dress jacket, a white button up shirt, red tie, black pants, and blue loafers. The jacket is a normal cloth jacket with a tweed interior. His shirt is just that, a shirt, white, with a pocket, usually containing a pen and a notepad or something of the sort. The loafers are blah blah blah this is all filler, really, because there's only so much you can say in terms of his clothing. He does, on most days, wear a white scarf with his clothing, no matter how warm it is. He swears up and down it's necessary.
Height: 5 foot 10 inches
Weight: 142 lbs.
Fighting Style: Blaine will do anything to avoid a fight, truth be told. He starts with a speech on the cons (and pros, to be perfectly fair on the situation) of combat, and does whatever he can to dissuade the enemy. This is, however, a canned speech, though should it actually work somehow he will be more than happy to keep from fighting. He's got it so perfectly memorized that he can recite it mindlessly while analyzing the situation. He does what he can to analyze the enemy, the surrounding area, and any sort of element that can be exploited for his advantage. When actually fighting, he utilizes his lower weight and smaller frame to avoid attacks from the enemy. When the moment is right, he dives in for attacks on weak spots, or whatever he perceives to be a weak spot. He more or less improvises for any situation that may occur, and prefers using his intellect rather than physical prowess.
Personality: Blaine is a highly intellectual man, and he will prove it to you at any given moment. He regularly recites classic literature and has a quote for every occasion. Being so well read, he is fluent in many languages, including Latin, French, and Spanish. He rather enjoys reading in solitude, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, especially in a city so busy as Shibusen. He can often be seen writing in a notepad he cares around with him at all times. Often times, he's merely taking notes on character development, or writing snippets for something he may be writing.
Being such a shut-in, he avoids being outdoors like the plague. He's thoroughly convinced he has an allergy to fresh air, and as such, he much prefers the smell of old books and clean halls. He'll even go so far as to sit away from sunlight pouring through a window. He will take peeks, though, but only for scenery descriptions and the like.
His reading, especially romance novels and such, have made him a bit of a romantic and a flirt. When he sees someone who peaks his interests, he will unashamedly flirt and court, using as much of his literary background as possible. Shakespeare, however cliche, is, of course, a constant source of lines to recite. It has worked, believe it or not, and from his experience with women, he's become something of a great kisser.
When he gets down to something, Blaine will hardly ever let up until the work is done. Some things take time, but he works as hard as he can for as long as he can. He has been writing a novel, which he hopes will be his magnum opus, for years now; combining the longevity of his work on it plus the volume with which he writes, it is now thick enough to kill a man. He hopes one day it will earn him enough money to retire early, though his work with literature will most likely continue.
Inside the Soul
Abilities: Advanced Soul Perception: Blaine is able to see the souls of others, giving him a cursory glimpse at the strength of their soul. Blaine is also able to "read" a person's soul and make accurate judgments about them. He can read into their personality, morals, and emotions, but cannot see things such as thoughts and history.
Soul Purge: Blaine is able to channel his soul to physical attacks, increasing his attacking strength.
Fleet Foot: By utilizing a method similar to Soul Purge, Blaine can channel his soul energy into his lower body to put assist in motion, increasing his movement and dodge speed.

Dislikes: The outdoors, bratty kids, manual labor, hauling heavy book loads, and grading work
Subject: Literature
History: Blaine, from an early age, was reading, at abnormal ages. He was reading anything he could get his hands on, partly to distract from the near crippling episodic Meniere's that he suffered from, and his love for literature began. Before the age of ten, he had read the entire works of Shakespeare and most of the Transcendentalist movement. His reading talents only grew from there, and soon, they transfered over into his writing talents. He would lead a rather gifted life until he turned 13. That's when he discovered his talents.
He was very shocked to discover at such a tender young age that he could see others' souls. While he had never known of others to possess such talents, he had read that some had such gifts. He kept them a secret for some time until the pressure broke him and he confessed to his parents. They merely nodded their heads to him and had him taken into the care of a psychiatrist, in utter disbelief that their son would even believe in such things. When he passed the doctor's inspections, they looked all around for answers until they came across Shibusen Academy. Trying to keep the entire situation under wraps, the family surreptitiously uprooted and settled back down in Death City, where Blaine attended the Academy.
In school, Blaine much preferred the classroom to assignments. His partner was not much help, either. Truly the polar opposite of Blaine, his partner was a loud, obnoxious, unruly demon weapon taking the form of a small tanto sword. While he was very proficient in combat with his partner, he still much preferred the books. His natural ability to analyze, coupled with the speed training that he somehow exceeded in, was a good fit for his partner's weapon form, which made their personal relationship all the more confusing. On one mission, however, he underestimated his opponent and was stricken with a bout of Meniere's. Seeing double and dazed, his partner was knocked from his hands, unconscious. The Kishin Egg which they faced then had no problem in walking right over and killing his partner. Blaine was left with no option but to flee. Following that, his demeanor escalated in intensity. He was nearly joyless, finding solace only in the books he read and brief romantic and sexual affairs with his classmates.
After graduating early from Shibusen, more or less tearing himself apart in studies to remove himself from a place of such negative emotion, he moved on to a major university and, again, graduated early, now possessing a teaching degree. His teaching would put him close to children, which he soon found he absolutely despised, especially the noisy ones. They reminded him too much of his partner. He kept on this career path purely to torture children, perhaps to help vent those negative feelings surrounding his partner's death, as he saw them as "wasted potential and ultimately unsuited for the freedom they possess." He now works at Shibusen Academy, ironically enough, teaching children Literature and Mythology so that maybe someday they'll attain some culture. In at least some part, he believes himself to be attending merely to help others to never find themselves in the same position he did.

RP Sample: Blaine awoke early in the morning, unsurprisingly finding himself not feeling like P. Diddy. Struggling to get out of bed, he walked sleepily to the shower, humming some old, long forgotten song as he bathed himself. Bathing was always difficult for him, as he very well couldn't see without his glasses on. He would stay in the shower, enjoying the warmth, until, predictably, the water ran cold. Whimpering from the sudden cold, he took himself out of the shower and quickly dried himself off, eager to get into his warm clothes.
After dressing, he walked his way to the school, taking a work day today to catch up on grading. "So, then, Mr. Kannouteki, how did you do?" he said, taking his red pen into his hands. "Terrible use of adjectives, subject blurry, and you failed to even grasp the meaning of the assignment. I give you an F, good sir, and wish you the best of luck." Pushing the paper off to the side, he began furiously scribbling on another student's paper, who, surprise of surprises, also failed to grasp the purpose. "Why do I even bother looking anymore?" he said, leaning backwards and sighing. "None of these students are anywhere close to literate."
Gathering the horrible, disappointing set of papers, he headed off to the teacher's lounge on the upper floor of Shibusen. If he couldn't have a good time reading quality work, perhaps the female work body of the school could offer a good time. So he waited for someone to come through the door. And he waited. And waited. And waited. Soon, after many hours passed by, he became very, very frustrated. He pulled out his cell phone to check for a time and lo and behold, it was Saturday. "N-no..." he said, pushing his glasses up his face. "I cannot believe it, not for a second..." he said with a sigh as he gathered up his possessions and headed back home. How could someone like him forget something like that?
