Trees. That was all police captain Charles Tremblay saw if he looked out the station window. The small town of L'Etape was surrounded by forest. It made the town seem rather cold and isolated, and now more than ever that was a fact that scared him. They were miles from the next town over, and trying to reach a city was an idea most simply didn’t consider. Anybody born in L'Etape usually stayed in L'Etape and didn’t consider leaving an option. The town was small with only five hundred calling it home, hence why the current black outs were so distressing. Everyone was out gossiping about what could be causing it, albeit indoors. It was now considered a very dumb idea to wander outside in the recent weeks. Charles knew better, though, especially after hearing the autopsy report on the waitress found maybe four miles outside of town.
Charles had seen what bear attacks looked like and he knew damn well that no car had left poor Lysette mangled like that. The poor thing had been spotted by a cousin and her older brother who’d gone out searching for her after she’d disappeared during the previous blackout. Her boss at the café she worked at had told her she was more than welcome to stay until the darkness dispersed, urging her to stay inside but Lysette had insisted that she hurry home to attend to her mother. She’d been found hanging over the guard rail, bloody and torn apart with an arm missing. Charles closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to get the image out of his mind. Upon reopening his eyes, he could’ve sworn he saw something dark dart in between the trees visible from the window. Looking again, he chalked it up to too much stress coupled with too little sleep.
Turning away from the window, Charles checked the ancient clock that sat on the receptionist’s desk near the front door of the tiny police station. The students from Shibusen should have been arriving soon. He was a bit wary, if not completely skeptical that a couple of kids would be able to handle something like this. He’d been a police officer for fifteen years, a captain for three, and he still wasn’t ready for something like this. A shadow that fell over his town and then some wacked out creature dragging away the people he knew and loved were definitely on the list of thing he thought he’d never see. Sighing, the dark haired man wandered outside and looked up and down the street. He didn’t see anyone he didn’t recognize, so he supposed he still had some waiting to do.
Leaning against the brick of the police station, Charles wondered if they would even find the place. L'Etape being described as surrounded by trees would be an understatement. In some places the trees were so thick it was impossible to walk through without having to hack and slash foliage out of one’s way. Tapping his foot impatiently, Charles tried to put the thought of the students getting lost on their way out of his mind. That was the last thing he needed. Certainly they would find their way soon enough. He wouldn’t admit it to anybody, but he was at a loss as for what to do next. Twenty people were missing. No trace could be found of where they’d been or gone, the only for sure fact about any of them was that every single one had been outside when the shadow fell over L'Etape.
Screaming had been heard, shrieking and crying and pleas for help but nobody ever saw anything. No one dared to peer out a window it seemed, probably for fear of whatever was snatching up their loved ones would break in and steal them away into the shadows as well. Charles was grateful that no one in his family had been taken. His wife and daughters had been safe and sound back at the house during both of the black outs, thank God. If they’d been taken he’d be beside himself and likely unable to do his job. That of course didn’t mean they wouldn’t still be kidnapped when the next dark hour rolled around. All the more reason to find the cause of all this nonsense and put an end to it. Turning his eyes to the grey clouds overhead, Charles sighed,
“Où sont ces élèves? Nous avons besoin de toute l'aide que nous pouvons obtenir ici.” ((Where are those students? We need all the help we can get around here.))

Planes. She always had a problem with taking planes last time it was because she had yelled in the airport that she was a rocket launcher. This time she was trying to be a good rainbow haired girl but when you have a head of hair like hers it's hard to forget. It only took one look for the air marshal to remember that crazy flight over to England about a year ago. He would never forget the noise she made and the mess. With a few second of Bang taking her set next to Nat she was pull up by her arm. Detained, again. Bang whined and complained that she was being a good girl this time and didn't say she was a rocket launcher. Of course the second she said that on the plane people when into a panic and it took a few minutes to calm them all down. Once again Bang was handcuffed to the chair sitting next to the same air marshal as last time. She bitched she moaned but she finely gave up after a while and started to make bothersome sounds with her mouth. That went on for the rest of the flight driving the poor man crazy again. When the plane finely landed she was unhand cuffed and sent back to her new mesiter. "Bye Frank~ Hope I see you again sometime!" she winked at the poor man and he gave a shiver. Bang then looked to her meister with her big grin. "Last mission I was on I got detained and he was the air marshal last time that took care of me. ALL RIGHT LETS GET GOING TO THIS TOWN THAT I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO PRONOUNCE!"So off her and Nat went to the town of L'Etape. Taking a car as far as they could go. The moment Bang get out of the car and looked at the woods and felt the cold air on her, she bitched. "HOLY TITS IT IS COLD OUT HER! NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT~ You didn't tell me we where going to be hiking threw the wood to grandmother house we go! I HATE TREES. You know what the last tree did to me? Got me a boyfriend that dumped me and a best friend I made out with!...Well that tree wasn't all that bad...BUT IT JUMPED RIGHT OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND A SMASHED MY FACE ON IT! Trees are evil Nat....OH DICK WHAT IF THE KISHIN EGG IS A TREE!?" For a few second Bang was convinced of this and started to interrogate the nearest tree only to remember that it was shadows the town was seeing now killer trees. Bang started to walk in the direction on the town but turned around and put the tree on the bit. "Just remember tree I'm watching you."It really didn't take long before Bang got bored of walk and ran up and licked arms with her meister. "Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat~ I'm hungry I'm tired I'm thirsty are we there yet!? Bang stared to pick at Nat's hair asking this about three times before she got bored and jumped on her back. "CARRY MY NAT-KIN!!!" The sudden weight of the crazed rainbow girl hit Nat like a tone of brisk. Bang wrapped her legs around her wait and her arms around her neck and gave his a big ol' sloppy kiss on the cheek. Was there a reason for this? No Bang was just so bored of walking and seemingly getting nowhere. She had to make it more entertaining for her or she might do something really dumb and crazy. Like she wasn't doing it right now. There was no rhyme or reason to why Bang Bang did things. She just did what ever she felt like doing at any time and if that meant jumping on your partners back and giving them a kiss then so be it!

Plane rides started seeming like a pain in the butt for her. Seriously every time she was on the plane something bad happened or she was being a grump on it. She slept a lot on this plane ride though but only after her weapon was detained by an air marshal. Bang wasn't even doing anything she was actually about to sit down but he pulled her up by her arm and only then did she cause a panic. She just simply laughed when everyone start freaking out because she said she was a rocket launcher; and this was why she was Bang's meister.
After that though she was pulled away to sit right next to the air marshal while handcuffed. The plane ride was completely boring without Bang there to talk to and she had completely spaced on bringing something to keep her occupied while on the plane. You couldn't even use a cell phone on them!! HOW IS SHE SUPPOSED TO TEXT MISAKI LIKE THIS!? Life was completely boring without her weapon or bestie to talk to; she was going to die of boredom!!
Pfft. No. Nat must have been tired from skyping her brother well into the early hours of the morning because she fell asleep. It was morning there so it wasn't that big of a deal for him but she was at least up until 3 talking to him. It cured her boredom fairly easily and would also make her less tired for the mission. It had been a nice nap and her weapon was returned to her after the plane ride who explained that this had not been the first time she had been detained by the same air marshal. She continued on to exclaim that they should get going on to the town that she didn't know how to pronounce and she just simply nodded.
The entire car ride she sat and fiddled with her cell phone as she texted her best friend and ignored the calls and texts from her older brother. HE SHOULD GO TO BED GOD!!! She should have never told him that she was going on her first mission because now he would shut up about it! She wanted her through her phone every time she got a text or call from him but then she wouldn't be able to text Misaki so she decided against it every time. The moment that the car stopped near the woods though she texted her one final time and put her phone up in her jeans.
It would be completely rude if she continued to text when they reached the police station and besides it wasn't safe for her to text while walking. Clumsy Nat would trip over a tree root or something if she did that. As soon as she hit the cold air she tightened her scarf around her neck and pulled her sock monkey knit hat over her head to cover her ears better. Bang was the first to mention something about the weather but then again it got cold in Japan too so it didn't really bother Nat that much. Next Bang said she didn't tell her that they were going to be hiking through the woods to grandmother's house they go and she giggled at this.
"Careful Bang! The big bad wolf is lurking somewhere in the trees!!" Nat said with a smile to her weapon.
Bang then went on a long tangent about how she disliked trees and how they were evil. They got her a boyfriend that dumped her and a best friend that she made out with. She claimed that tree wasn't all that bad but it still had jumped out right in front of her causing her to smash her face. Nat laughed again and then grinned when Bang said what if the kishin was a tree. As if believing herself she went off to yell at a tree and then after doing so she told the tree that she was watching it.
After a bit more of walking Bang seemed to have gotten tired so she linked arms with her and said her name before saying she was hungry, tired, and thirsty then asked if they were there yet. Nat looked around and thought she could see the town just beyond the next few trees but before she could open her mouth to tell Bang this she was tackled from behind. Bang had jumped onto her back wrapping her legs around her waist and her arms around her neck and kissed her cheeky sloppily tell her to carry her. Nat didn't seem to mind as she was at least strong enough to carry her weapon on her back plus piggy back rides were fun to give! There wasn't much more to walk either then poof they were out of the trees and in the small town of their destination.
"This looks like the right place! Let's go find that police station!" Nat declared triumphantly.

Charles was beginning to grow impatient. He’d decided to retreat inside to avoid the cold a few moments ago. It was terribly close to when winter would start getting nasty for the citizens of L'Etape after all. Soon the weather would begin turning against them and any and all attempts to leave town would be thwarted by enormous snow drifts. Just thinking about the days where he’d have to dig his way out of the house was enough to make the police captain shiver. Standing once again in front of the window in his office, Charles kept his eyes focused on the trees. That was where they were headed once those Shibusen kids finally arrived.
Apparently all he needed to do to summon them was to think of them. The secretary, Elise, jogged in not a second later with a rather perplexed look on her face,
“Pardonnez-moi capitaine, mais je crois qu'il ya peut-être une incarnation vivante d'un arc-en-errant sur l'extérieur trottoir.“ ((Pardon me captain, but I believe that there may be a living incarnation of a rainbow wandering down the sidewalk outside.))
Charles turned and looked at the young blonde woman with skepticism. A living rainbow? What in the world was she on about? He decided to ask,
“Elise, ce qui sur terre que tu racontes?“ ((Elise, what on Earth are you talking about?))
Elise rolled her eyes and beckoned him to follow her with her hand. She led him to the window at the front of the police station and pointed to the area of sidewalk that was nearly too far away to see, just where the street began to disappear from sight. Charles squinted but sure enough, one of two young women wandering down the street appeared to have had a run in with a paint set and lost, apparently. Sighing, Charles pinched the bridge of his nose,
“Oh, ce sont probablement les étudiants. Espérons qu'ils ne ressemblent à des délinquants.“ ((Oh, those are probably the students. Hopefully they only look like delinquents.))
Elise nodded but still looked a bit suspicious of the two newcomers. Charles couldn’t blame her. It was a small town and all the people they usually got were drifters or tourists, and sometimes the odd hiker would wander in through the woods. These two were definitely like nothing the town had ever seen before, but if they were here to help the police captain would welcome them with open arms. He was tired of his people going missing. With any luck, though, the missing would soon be found as that would be their first task. Wandering back to his office, Charles grabbed his hat off his desk and placed it on his head. He then exited the police station and waved to the two girls tromping along their way,
“Bonjour mesdames. Would you happen to be the students sent by Shibusen?“
Charles didn’t really know why he bothered to ask them. It was rather obvious that they must be the students he’d been waiting for. Nobody else there age were likely to be wandering through and he knew for certain that they did not reside in L'Etape. He’d recognize them if they did, especially the one that appeared to be a living, breathing rainbow. Yes, he’d definitely have noticed if one of the local children appeared as such. Still, it was better not to assume.

The moment that Nat pointed out that they where near the town she did a flip off her miesters shoulders. Bang landed, slipped on ice, and fell flat on her ass like the graceful lady that she was. She quickly got to her feet jumping up and down rubbing her butt. "WHAT THE DICK!! WHY DO I ALWAYS SEEM TO FIND THE ONE STRAY PEACE OF MOTHER FUCKING ICE?!" Bang finely stopped her shouting and turned to see a man standing outside a building. This must have been the man that they had to meet up with. The rocket launcher got a wide grin on her face and went running over to him zigzagging all the way there. She made one jump and slid along the ground stopping right in front of the man. She teen took a stance of a proper army brat and gave a salute to the man. "Privet Bang Bang reporting for duty captain. We are the students sent for Shibusen." Just as soon as she was done saying that they way she stood changed. She popped one hip to the side and places a hand on it and gave a snicker. "heh heh I said duty... Any thought that this man might have had about this girl maybe being a mature woman would have gone right out the window then.
Bang looked passed him into the nice warm building but he was in the way. She looked up at him with her dark gray eyes. "Ya think we can talk inside? It's colder than balls out here....LOW BRIG!" She didn't even give the poor guy time to answer all of a sudden the rainbow girl hit the deck and forced her way between the man legs and into the nice warm building. Bang hopped around in the new place and even jumped over a table and made her way to a nice comfy looking chair. Bang grinned over at the other person that was in the room and gave a wink to them. She then looked back to her meister Nat and patted her lap. "Come to me my meister! I have a nice warm lap for you to sit on!"
Then Bang suddenly remembered why she was here in the first place and looked back at the captain. She gave a little nervous laugh and rubbed the back of her neck. "Oh right....The mission... So we have been told that you have been haveing some problems here? People going missing during strange back outs? So please tell me and my friend what is going on around here. We are here to help.... I hope you don't mind we might go about in a strange way." At this Bang gave a wink to the man. She then let her meister talk, Bang was guessing that Nat might have better question for her and then again out of the two of them Nat did look like the clam NORMAL one. Then again looks can be very deceiving because Nat was also a fire cracker like Bang. Bang attention went to another place the moment any would start talking she as looking out the window at the forest. It was rather sad that she asked question but then didn't even bother to listed to the answers, well then again that was what her meister was for right? Nat would listen to what this guy had to say and Bang.... Bang would look out the window and make it look like she was spacing out. What she was really doing was scanning for forest, it was hard to see because it was getting dark but maybe Bang would be able to spot something while the others talked it was worth a shot.

It didn't take Bang long to jump off of her shoulders in a flip nonetheless at her declaration of the them being in the town. She landed like the amazing weapon that she was and all was perfectly fine until she slipped on some ice. The Japanese tried to stifle the laughter that was wanting to escape her mouth at Bang's blunder and her exclamation to it afterwards. Her and her weapon had too much in common and being a klutz at the most in opportune moments was one of them as well as the language although she was a tad bit more tame with it. She waited for her to calm down a bit after jumping up and down and rubbing her ass from falling right on it because of the ice.
Once she had finished shouting, the rocket launcher seemed to have spotted someone in the otherwise pretty deserted looking town. It was pretty cold outside and with that kishin on the loose it was probably more of a safety measure. Nat wasn't too far behind Bang after she took off towards the police station with a big grin on her face and she giggled as her weapon zigzagged on her way to him. She watched her jump suddenly before sliding across the paved sidewalk and come to a stop right in front of the man. She came up behind Bang as she stood at attention and announced her name as well as said that they were the students from Shibusen.
Nat laughed when Bang fell out of the formal behavior with one sentence, which consisted of her commenting on saying duty. She nodded in agreement to the statement of them being the students from Shibusen as she was still in a tiny bit of a laughing fit from Bang's comment. She looked up at the guy who had come outside to greet them at about the same time as her meister and a sparkle came to her black eyes. This guy! THIS GUY LOOKED LIKE ROY MUSTANG! That hot piece of man from Fullmetal Alchemist and she couldn't help but let out a giggle at this thought.
"Special Ops Nat reporting for duty as well!" Nat said with a smile and a small giggle.
She took her eyes away from the police guy though when she noticed her weapon had said something about talking inside and went marching off into the building after dropping to the ground and forcing her way between the poor guy's legs. It was pretty chilly outside especially when it was probably almost winter where they were. It would be a lot more comfortable to talk about it inside instead of out in the cold. They'd probably be back outside later to scout out things anyway so to have a break from the harsh weather would be nice. She followed her weapon on into the building but had missed Bang jumping around the room before she had settled into a chair and grinned when she patted her lap while telling her to sit on her lap.
"Aweh Bang~ You shouldn't have~" Nat said in a sing song voice as she walked over to her weapon and sat upon her lap while smiling at the other woman in the room.
Bang seemed to suddenly remember that they were there for a mission and not being silly. She looked at the captain at the same time as Bang and listened as she began to talk to him again. She just started with the usual questions a student team would ask of the people experiencing a problem and she just nodded along with them. She was curious to hear what they thought of what was going on in their town and she would get that from Bang's questions. It was obvious though that she'd have to listen for her because she was spacing out once again or looking out the window for something.
"Where have you had the most hits of these mysterious disappearances?" Nat asked curious about this as well as everything else.

Seeing the one girl slip and fall on a stray piece of ice made the captain raise an eyebrow. If these were the people he would be trusting to help save L'Etape then God help them. They’d need it. To be fair, the girls at least introduced themselves properly, and Charles even bothered to return the salute that the rainbow girl known as Bang gave him,
“I am Police Captain Charles Tremblay. It’s a pleasure to meet you two; I only wish it were under better circumstances.”
Better circumstances indeed, whatever those were. To be honest Charles was reasonably sure that he could have gone through his life quite happily having never met these girls but unfortunately he needed their help. With that in mind he made a note to put his best foot forward in dealing with Nat and Bang. They may be strange but that didn’t make them bad people, and they seemed nice enough. Hearing Bang ask if the three could talk inside, he nodded. He guessed that these two weren’t used to the bitter cold that L'Etape tended to experience during the winter. Every visible thing was at least partially covered in snow and there were icicles hanging from rooftops and anything else the frozen spikes could form off of,
“Of course. It would be rather impractical to discuss things out in the cold, wouldn’t it?”
Charles had not expected the rainbow girl to try and get at the police station behind them by crawling between his legs on the way to it. He was thrown off balance and stumbled a bit but quickly found his footing and simply stared after the energetic rainbow girl. Charles took a deep breath and managed to resist the urge to yell after her whatever reprimanding phrase came to mind first. That wouldn’t solve anything and with any luck these girls would only be present for the day until whatever was kidnapping and kill the citizens of L'Etape was captured and killed. Straightening up, the police captain followed the girls into the building. No doubt Elise was already having a fit over them if he knew her as well as he liked to think he did. Once inside, the secretary was immediately at his side,
“Monsieur, cela ne peut être entre eux, le fou a sauté sur une table déjà!” ((Sir, this can't possibly be them, the crazy one jumped over a table already!))
“Calmez-vous Elise, ce sont des enfants. Donnez-leur une pause et être poli, ils sont là pour nous aider, après tout. “ ((Calm down Elise, they’re kids. Give them a break and be polite, they are here to help us after all.))
The blonde woman rolled her eyes and went back to her desk to shuffle through a few papers. In the meantime, Charles walked to where the students were now sitting and leaned against the nearby desk. Hearing them both ask questions, he did his best to answer them,
“Indeed L'Etape has been having problems. When the blackouts first started they were merely thought of as a nuisance, but when people began to go missing during each and every one you can understand why we became worried. It started off as perhaps one or two, but then anyone who ventured outside during the blackouts would go missing. We lost five more people to the last one.”
Charles paused. What else was there to tell? The whole reason the police had called Shibusen was because the only found victim had no soul, and the town obviously couldn’t handle the issue on their own. Then again perhaps telling them what happened to Lysette would help,
“We’ve only found one of the missing that was taken. Her name was Lysette. Her cousin found her on his way over to the next town by the side of the road. She was found hanging over a guard rail with an arm missing. We all wanted think that maybe a bear had wandered into town and that was what got her, but the…the claw marks were different.”
A pause. In fifteen years of being on the police force Charles had never had to pause in recounting something like this. For a moment, the police captain stared at the carpeting with a grim look on his face. After taking a few deep breaths to compose himself, he continued,
“I’ve seen bear attacks before. Whatever killed Lysette was vicious with claws sharper than any animal I can think of lumbering about in the surrounding woods. We think it must be pretty smart as well to be able to hide people from us that way it is. The latest piece of information we have is that a few of the people in town have seen something; they don’t know what, lingering around the edge of the forest. Unfortunately, none of them have gotten a good look at it but I reassured them that we would check it out. To be frank I think the forest would be a good place to start as well considering I saw what I assume these witnesses were talking about just a few minutes before the two of you arrived from the window in my office.”

Bang nodded her head listening to all of this but suddenly she looked up at Charles with a look of absolute horror on her face. He might think it was because he described how the man was found or maybe that the monster they where about to face was far smarter than anyone had thought. Or maybe because he said that he thought he saw it just before they students had arrived in the two and it may have been watching them their whole walk, collecting information on it's new prey. But the look of horror was for none of these reason and Bang made that very clear the next time she opened her mouth to speak. "The forest!? You mean we have to go back into that forest? WHERE WE WILL BE COMPLETELY SENSURROUND BY THE ENEMY!? And by the enemy I mean TREES!!! I HATE TREES! THEY ARE EVIL AND THEY TAKE UP SPACE AND THEY LOOK SUPER FUCKING CREEPY AT NIGHT WHEN THE WIND BLOWS! And you are telling me that we have to go back in there?" She flung her arms up into the air as she yelled, this was nothing new for the people around Bang Bang to see but for random strangers she just seemed like she was totally off her rocker.
She gave a sigh as she gently picked up Nat stood up and places her back down in the chair. She then turned to the two adults in the room placing her hands on her hips. "All right me and Nat will go and take a look in the woods and see if we can find anything. But so help me god if a trees comes at me I can't take responsibility for my actions!" Suddenly and seemingly out of no where Bang pulls out a military helmet and places it on her head. Where the hell she got this or even where she was keeping it could be anyone's guess. Bang looks back over to her meister and gives her a node. "All right Nat-kins lets get this show on the road!'"
Bang begins to head to the door then stops to look at Charles with a big smile on her face. "Don't worry boss man Nat and I got this all uncontrolled... Also if you hear things exploding in the woods that could mean one of two things. One is that we found the monster and are trying to kill it or two that something scared me and I just went off." She gives him a hearty pat on the back her big ol grin on her face again. "LEAVE IT TO US, WE GOT THIS!" With that she fixes her helmet and runs out the door into the cold night air and off to the edge of the forest, hopping that her mesiter would be right behind her. She should really take some time to stop and look, but that involve turning her head and that was so hard to do.

It had to be a crime. It really had to be. TO LOOK THAT MUCH LIKE FREAKING ROY MUSTANG!! It was driving Nat insane and there was no way she'd end up calling him his real name. The bit about him even saying his name had been blurred out and replaced by Roy Mustang in her head. There was honestly something wrong with her. Well if there was then she didn't care.
The inside of the building really was a lot more warm than it was outside and that was a good thing. Better to be relieved from the cold air until they really went out to deal with the Kishin. The police captain went about answering their questions as soon as he was in the building and leaned against a desk. It was important that they get as much information about what had happened before going to actually deal with the kishin. Just in case they didn't receive all the information back at school or if new stuff came up.
Nat did her best paying attention to the captain's words and keeping all the Roy Mustang thoughts out of her head. There was no doubt that Bang was having more fun looking out the window than actually listening to him answer their questions. He explained that it all started with black outs and the missing people only happened about one or two at a time. It escalated in number of anyone who was caught outside during the black outs. As he paused in his explanation she took the time to maul the information over in her mind and try to figure out what the kishin was. What kind of abilities would it have and what would it look like? Maybe the lights hurt his eyes and that was the only reason why he came out at night.
She brought her attention back the the Roy Mustang lookalike as he started talking about one incident in particular. One victim had been found on the side of the road leading out of the town and had been found by her cousin. She had been missing an arm and had claw markings on her, which they had assumed or had wanted to assume had been from a bear. He paused again in the midst of the retelling and she waited for him patiently to continue on. It must have been something very difficult to recall especially when it was probably a terrible site. The kishin were ruthless.
Alright here was the information that she had been waiting for. The kishin seemed to have rather sharp claws ones that were far sharper than any animal lurking in the woods and it appeared to be far smarter as well. It easily hid the other bodies from the towns people so why had it left the one female out in the open. Was he taunting them or had something scared him off? That was something that her and Bang would find out for sure. It was the last bit of information that made her skin crawl a tiny bit since he had said that he thought he saw what the other towns people had been seeing lingering on edge of the forest just before they showed up. That was a bit scary since they had just been in the woods. It knew they were there.
Bang was quick to react to anything first and it startled Nat a tiny bit. She blatantly started yelling about going into the forest and being surrounded by the enemy. Of course, Nat knew what she was going on about before she even mentioned the trees as she had been talking about it only moments before when they had been in the forest. She seemed to be upset that they would have to go back into the forest and flung her arms up into the air. It was actually kind of funny but she tried to keep her laughter to herself. It was usually best to keep those kinds of things to yourself. She instead patted Bang's cheek in response and shushed her.
"Now now Bang. Don't worry I'll be there with you." Natsuki said in a comforting tone of voice to try to calm her weapon down.
It didn't really take much for Bang to calm down in the first place in fact it was almost like she wasn't upset in the first place. Nat heard her sigh then felt herself being picked up by her and then placed back down on the chair. She eyed her partner curiously as she turned to the two adults with her hands on her hips and rather calmly stated that they would go out into the woods to see if they could find anything. She snickered a bit when she said that she couldn't take responsibility if a tree came at her while they were out there. She blinked though when Bang pulled a military helmet out of completely nowhere and placed it upon her head. She shrugged it off though as she was addressed by her weapon to get the show on the road.
"Well I can't deny such an awesome rainbow can I?" Natsuki questioned as she jumped up off of the chair with a grin on her face.
Nat followed after Bang as she headed towards the door and paused when her weapon stopped. She had a big grin on her face as she looked towards Roy and reassured him that they had everything under control. She then went on to warn him about hearing explosions as it being basically nothing. She patted him on the back with another big grin on her face and yelled for them to leave it to them before adjusting her helmet. She watched her run outside after doing so and turned to the police captain herself to give him a salute.
"We'll keep things under control, Colonel Mustang!" Natsuki said with a grin on her face before she went off out the door herself.
The black haired girl met up with her partner at the edge of the forest and started to gaze into the forest. It was pretty dark in there. Her theory about the kishin perhaps being afraid of the town lights might be true if he was staying in the forest. That was the only thing that she could think of especially since the black outs always conventionally happened before the disappearances. This kishin was one smart cookie.
"You ready, Bang?" Natsuki asked her partner as she looked over at her. "Be careful. Its possible that the kishin is using the dark of the forest as a cover because its sensitive to light. That'd explain the black outs." She continued on to explain to Bang but whether she was paying attention was another story.

Well, that certainly wasn’t the reaction Charles had been expecting. Why on earth was this girl so afraid of trees? Had she taken a bad fall from one perhaps? Whatever the case, she seemed to be far more concerned about running into a forest than the terrible creature that lurked within its confines. Raising an eyebrow, the police captain was really starting to wonder if these two were cut out for the job. He glanced at Nat, as she seemed to actually be paying attention, “Unless you two would like to wait around for the next black out, venturing into the forest is really your best bet.”He turned his attention back to the rainbow, “It the forest worries you so, I could accompany the two of you out into the wilderness. I have two officers stationed where the trees meet the open fields outside already, Lieutenant Patel and Lieutenant Martin. You’re welcome to have them assist you. The forest is dark and we have had people get lost and go missing.”If the two students happened to wander into the forest and not come back out, Charles didn’t know what he would do. Probably go chasing after them considering he wasn’t about to let two kids away from home go missing. What the hell would he tell their parents? Apparently Bang Bang was five or ten steps ahead of the police captain, suddenly standing and looking quite determined to investigate. Well, so much for the girl’s fear of trees. Wasn’t she just screaming about how they were the enemy just a few moments ago? Still, the rainbow appeared ready and waiting to go. Charles merely sighed and shook his head at being told not to worry. It was much too late for that. He’d been worrying for weeks now, and he wasn’t likely to stop anytime soon. After this was all over, he’d be surprised if his hair didn’t spontaneously turn gray overnight. Then again maybe that was just an old wives tale, hair turning gray due to worry. He certainly hoped so. When Bang pulled out the military helmet, he leaned away from her slightly and glanced nervously over at her partner, “Um…”Well at this point he didn’t know why he was surprised. The two were far from normal after all. Still, it was a bit unexpected. At the mention of explosions, Charles donned a look of total confusion. Why on earth would there be explosions? What the hell was this girl talking about? Before he could ask, they were both rushing out the door and back into the cold of the town. Hurrying to the doorway, he cupped his hands around his mouth and yelled after them, “Please be careful you two!”For now he wouldn’t venture after them. With the lieutenants he’d mentioned earlier stationed right where they would need to enter, they could easily handle anything that went wrong, or at least he hoped they could. Before the forest was a vast empty field. Snow blanketed the ground with small bushes and more resilient saplings still managing to poke through to the surface. These smaller plants led right up to a wall of trees the loomed ominously over all else in the area. The light of the sun, already being blocked by clouds, barely reached ten feet into the forest. The trees were fairly close together, their branches becoming tangled up in each other the higher they went. Another layer of snow covered the branches, chunks falling off occasionally due to birds landing and disrupting the muffled silence of the forest. The students would be able to see clearly defined footprints in the snow, no doubt belonging to the lieutenants. However they would also notice that no such men stood guard by the trees as the captain had said. An abandoned rifle sat beside one of the outermost trees, looking as though whoever wielded it had dropped it in a hurry. More footprints led deeper into the woods, seeming to follow a shallow set of drags that looked far too much like someone’s hands clutching at the exposed roots to keep themselves from harm. Both led deeper into the shaded woods.

Before the girls reach where the two men would have been standing Bang thought now would be the best time to get one last little thing of fun in before it become serious business. She spotted a patches of ice and ran over to it sliding across it. It whooped and hollered with joy but the moment that was done she looked to the tree when a confused look on her face. She glanced back at her meister and pointed to the ground. "Nat my love please corrected me if I'm wrong, because I wasn't pay attention, but didn't mister Boss man say that there would be two guys waiting for us? I mean yeah I could see why anyone would run away from this." She said jestering to herself. "But it looks like these guys took off before we got here. . ."
Bang walked over to the foot print and bent down to look at them. She was right it looked like the other two had taken off into the wood. She stood back up and started at the forested a very serious look on her face. Something that was rarely seen on the rocket launcher. If the two others had been waiting for them she would have joked around and done something silly but now wasn't the time. There was a time and a place for Bang to be her crazy self and right now this wasn't it, there where now lives on the line. She turned back and looked at her partner. "We have to get going right now. I don't think I could live with my if someone got hurt while we where on a mission."
She began to walk fallowing the foot print into the woods. "Nat stay close to me. You might now know this about me but I have been trained in military combat and tracking. . . It's not something I really others to know about me. Nat if you see anything tell me and I'll turn into my weapon form. We can't take this thing to lightly." She looked over her shoulder and smiled at her meister. "Wegot this right Nat."
