And so it was time, it would seem. Time to eat, his stomach had dictated it so and his will power seemed to agree in a whole hearted manner upon this subject. There were so many various places to choose from that he would have to pick and pick quickly before he was singled out and yelled at to come try this stand or another. However, his dark hues did spy the perfect place and it made his hunger growl in anticipation in a true desire of what was to come. Closer and closer was the way each step carried him towards the outside vendor. And once he reached it, it took him less than a second to make up his mind. Without a single word, self conscious about his own voice was he that he nearly refused to speak and just pointed to a replica of the sandwich that was filled with sliced meat and all sorts of other delicous food essences and when he did spoke he just said mentioned the amount he wanted very politely, making sure to say "please" at the end of it. He took out his wallet, rather thanking himself silently that he did bring it this time instead of leaving it behind like he sometimes did when it wouldn't be of any use. Naturally, he would have to wait a while for the true sandwich to be prepared, displays never really did taste very good and were rather unhealthy as it was a game of Russian roulette to think how fresh it truly had to be. But, nonetheless, the meal was paid for in good form.
As he watched the people go about their business, he had no idea what was to happen. However, with his keen ability of sight, he did notice some sort of commotion in the distance, two people were chasing each other. The loss of one sense will always sharpen the others but without a thought in his mind and including the distance that the pair were from his location, he had no idea about the true nature of this chase and simply believed that they were relatives playing a game. An older brother and little sister, as it were. Such was the distance from him, though. However, a simple tap on the shoulder was what brought his attention back the to task at hand and the sharp Asian's eyes could see the steam rising off the sandwich and the mere scent of it quite nearly made his mouth water. Nearly, but not quite. The money already having been exchanged, the man in GI issued boots and pants took the wrapped sandwich gladly.
However, the beautiful union of the army brat and his sandwich was never to be. For, his grip around the sandwich was loose as he drew it to his mouth to take a bite. Yet, it was a bite that would never come, for within a few inches of the mouth, the sandwich was knocked from his hands by a bump from a young girl. And by young one must mean tiny as well. Sure, it wasn't much to get upset over, despite the loss of his breakfast, but he certainly couldn't blame the girl. He couldn't even see her face as it seemed to refuse to look up towards his own. He supposed the girl was trying to say something but woe was he that not a sound could be heard from her unseen mouth. Then the light of dawn hit him.
His dark orbs had strayed upwards and passed him to see another coming right up behind the girl. It was that realization, from their varied sizes, that this was the pair he assumed were playing happily a little while back. However, from the words that spewed out of her mouth, insults about how weak and clumsy she was, that seemed to be the exact opposite case of what he had assumed. This man...was nothing more than a lowly bully. And bullies were never very intelligent. He was to blame for it all and so the man simply said a few words to the little girl. "Get behind me, little one," he said very softly, trying to make sure only she could hear him. Then his eyes turned upwards.
"And you. Assaulting little children. Have you no honor? You have just a few moments to leave this area. That is the only warning you shall receive, I assure you." His voice, despite the fear that it was nothing more than a dishonorable mishmash of words, it was clear and rang true in his stern and steady, unyielding tone. He did not even assume a defensive or even an offensive stance in this matter. Such a trivial thing as defeating this bully would be only too simple for a master. It was clear the man had little to no training and even less discipline. His courage must be that as well. His eyes stared straight forward toward the man's face, judging his reaction and also making sure to closely read his lips. Either way, it would end soon.
