It was just another slow day in watch shop. Tori’s mother and father had left go to shopping and her father left her in charge of the shop. It was one of the things she really liked to do. She loved to see what type of watched people would bring in for her to fix but today was slow. She had a few students from the school come down and take a look around the shop but didn’t buy anything. People now of day just used their cell phone to look at the time, no one really understood the beauty of a really handmade watch. Tori had become so bored that she began to take the left over bits of some watches and started to make a little object out of them. She pulled the goggles down over her head the moment she started to work, welding and suturing can hurt the eyes if you don’t wear protection. The little tinkerer worked on and on as a few hours passed. She knew her parents would be gone for the whole day. Finely she was done and Tori help up what she was working on. It was a windup toy in the shape of a butterfly. She twisted the key on it and when she let it go he began to flap its wing. Tori smiled to herself as she watched the little butterfly top flaps its bronze wings. She places it back down on the table and goes into the back room to get some paint. Normally her and her father do not paint the watched but this wasn’t a watch this was a gift. Victorian knew her best friend was going to come to this school but she didn’t know when she would be here. It had been a few months now and Tori has not seen the wonderful golden locks of her friend but then again her family did move her over the summer. She went back over to the table and began to paint the butterfly humming to herself. ”Oh I hope she likes this. Punz I miss you so much.” She gave a little sniff looking down at the gift she was making. Tori thought of Punz like a sister and it was breaking her heart to know that this past summer was the first summer that had spent apart. Tori has to wipe a few more tears away, she couldn’t let her tear mess up her painting. Finely after a few minutes she was done and set the gift off to the side to let it dry. She had painted the butterfly to look like a morpho butterfly. She knew most everything Punz had was pink or purple but this would stick out in her room. Tori propped her elbows up on the counter and leaned on her hands looking at the door. What she would give to just have her best friend walk through that door right now.

It certainly was NOT a good day. It was absolutely wretched, to say and mention the very least of things. The poor girl was all alone, well not completely alone. There was supposed to be a guide picking her up at her apartment which her mother had acquired for her, nothing but the best for her little girl. Well, Melody wasn't her little girl, more her niece, but since she was of a single year old, the woman had cared for her and raised her just as she would her own, though perhaps a bit more protectively. Melody was the single last link she had to her sister, to any of her family for that matter. The green-eyed girl had long since come to grips that her grandparents on either of her parents sides were nothing but thieving, conniving, poachers who would do anything, use any filthy trick in the book, to get what they wanted from her or her new mother. Well, that was her mother's story and it was one that she stuck too quite clearly and staunchly and so the girl who lived the charmed life had no reason to disbelieve it. There was absolutely no chance she'd ever meet either set so that was that and the matter was fully settled. However, the girl waited patiently in her room for her escort to arrive. Dressed in the most fashionable (and most expensive) clothes, the girl felt rather bored waiting and continued to brush her exceedingly long hair. When she stood, it scrapped to floor at some times, being just a few inches off the ground and quite nearly five feet in length. Her deep emerald orbs examined her locks and teared up at the thought of Tori. The girl had never received a response to the letter(s) she had written her English friend about this terrible, awful, dreadful place she now found herself in. A school and she could not even rely on her mother for support. It was too much to bear.
The girl found herself lost in a deep trance of sorts, almost to the point of breaking down when a loud banging came on her door. "Open up already!" shouted a man's voice, deep and terrifying it seemed and Punz's right hand turned instinctively into a frying pan and looked at the door in a fright, tears having been forced out and dribbling down her cheeks. "W-Who's there!~ I won't go anywhere with...without a fight..." stated the girl, a noticeable quake present within her voice. "It's the guy who was hired to be your escort, that's who! I've been waiting down in the lobby fer about an hour! I'm not gonna wait any more, got it? So get out now!" demanded the man. It was with a trembling hand and stumbling walk that the girl made her way over towards the door and turned the handle, locking and closing it behind her, the security setting itself on. Powerful money can buy powerful and advanced machinery like such. Melody turned and looked skyward, and sky was correct. The man towered over her effortlessly and looked as terrifying as he sounded. The girl let out a frightened squeak before covering her mouth and though this giant of a man looked so frightful, he couldn't have progressed out of his teen years, but he gave her a tremendous scowl. "Ya comin'? I want to get this over with. Yer old lady ain't paying me that much...though you are kinda a cutie...Hmmm..." but he did nothing more and said nothing as he walked onwards, keeping whatever sinister thoughts of his within his own mind. Perhaps his IQ wasn't so low as a slug's after all, figuring out money she had would crush him easily or perhaps it was the simple fact her hand was still a frying pan, however, just like the chocolate center of a tootsie pop, the world may never know.
Quickly, the blonde haired girl changed her hand back, straightened her clothes to make sure she made the best first impression she possibly could, and drew her purse up onto her right shoulder and followed straight after the man. It was really the first time she had gone outside since she had arrived. Going outside? Are you crazy?! That was the thought process that enveloped Melody. Ruffians and thugs just laid in wait, lurking to prey on a weak and helpless little girl such as she, it was ridiculous. The very thought of cannibals made her pretty features turn green with sickness. Luckily, according to the man and her own vivid green eyes, the school was only a hop skip and a jump away from where she lived. And those stairs, speaking of sick, seemed like they would kill her if she attempted to do it. But her classes were up there so she had to...somehow. But, something else caught the girl's eye and attention. A large clock tower. It reminded her of England and of Tori....Tori again. It seemed every few minutes the girl's heart ached for her very best friend, her only friend. The summer apart was just the worst time in her life and she couldn't help but stare at the clock, much to the escort's annoyance though his whining had lessened since their initial encounter. But, it wasn't just a clock tower...it was a store. A watch store...The girl moved closer to it and peered within the window and examined it carefully, wondering if she should go in...wondering...waiting...fearful of being disappointed but curiosity and a wild wellspring of hope filled her body as her ginger fingers gripped the handle and turned. The blonde held her breath, shut the door softly behind her, and looked carefully. "Hello?"

After sitting their for a few second she got bored and went into the back of the shop to get some new watches she was making to sell. She brought them back out to the counter and them down and began to work. It was the only thing for her to do right now no one was in the shop and she had already cleaned it. She sat there for a while and made at lest four new watched when she hears the door open. She heard the sound of the girl girl say Hello and with out looking up Tori said her normal greeting.
"Welcome to the Pelham family shop. Please take a look around."
She was just putting the finishing touched on the last watched and finely looked up to see who it was that just walked in. She almost dropped the watch. She sat their frozen for a few seconds taking in the girls appearance, the long Blond hair, the fancy looking outfit, and those beautiful green eyes. It was her best friend Melody or Punz as she just likes to call her. It had felt like forever since she had last laid eyes on her or heard her voice. Maybe that was why she couldn't tell who she was right off the bat. It didn't matter now she was here. It didn't matter that she hadn't seen her since last summer and it didn't matter that she had been unable to contact her since she moved here.
Tori got up so fast that she knocked over her stool that she was sitting on. It didn't take her long to cross the room It a matter of second Punz was pulled into a big hug by Tori. Tears where running down her face as she hugged her friend a firmly as she could. "I can't believe you're here!" She pulled away and places both of her hand on either said of the girls face. "Mum and Papa told me that you were going to come to school here but I had no clue what I would be able to see you again. Oh Punz I missed you so much! I have something for you." She reached down and took the hand of the blond girl and walked her over to the counter. She reached over it and holds out the butterfly to Punz. "When you wind it up the wings flap." She said a few more tears rolling down her cheeks. It was so wonderful to have her best friend back with her.
