Walker; Rebecca;Meister
Name: Rebecca Walker
Nickname: Becca, Becks, anything that isn't Becky
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Race: Meister
Position: Student
Class: NOT
Partner: nobody :c
A Strong Body
Picture:
Appearance: Becks looks like a grungy little kid- emphasis put on the little. She's one of those teens who can still shop in the kid's section, gets offered kiddie menus at restaurants, and gets looked over for basketball teams. It's hard being the short kid; it's hard and nobody understands. Rebecca tries to make herself look bigger, more intimidating, just so she can be taken seriously. She walks around like she owns the place, and doesn't give much regard to normal social customs. That's probably why you'll find her sitting on tables and sleeping on the playground equipment.
Also helping Becks on her quest of looking big is her hair, hair which looks nearly untameable. Thick, firery red strands of hair fly are gathered into a high ponytail, though it usually looks like a mess. Rebecca is proud of her hair, though, and doesn't like having to cut it. She even takes the time to pretty up her ponytails with ribbons, probably the girliest thing Rebecca ever does. The rest of her clothes reflect that. Rebecca is a fan of the sweatshirt-really short shorts combo, and most of her wardrobe reflects that. She's also a fan of small shirts that show off her midriff. Regardless of what she is wearing, Rebecca looks like she threw the outfit together last minute, which is probably true. She doesn't put much thought into her appearance other than “I wear what I want” philosophy.
Rebecca is usually told by elders that she would look “so much cuter” if she threw on a dress or tidied up a bit. Rebecca isn't a huge fan of those people. She does have the eyes for it, though, being them just the right shade of amber that corresponds with the rest of her features nicely. Though, when you take a look at her body, you'll see a history of injuries along her skin. Rebecca's legs are lined with noticeable scars, including a rather large one clawed into the back of her leg. She doesn't like to talk about it much.
Height: 4”8
Weight: 95 lbs
Fighting Style: Rebecca is insecure of her fighting abilities. All of her friends and siblings seem to be able to street fight without a problem, but when it comes to tiny little Becky, she just doesn't seem able to keep up. Rebecca doesn't like to admit it, but she freezes up when it comes to actually hurting someone. Most of her fighting skills involve avoiding punches because of that, and she's gained a ton of experience in avoiding such throws. Her goals are to get out of danger fast, preferably without anyone following. She utilizes makeshift traps and her environment to stay out of danger, but sometimes, a little cleverness just isn't enough....
Personality:
“Didn't some cartoon guy say that he had a personality like an onion? You know, the whole layers thing? Well, I guess I'm like that.”
Rebecca doesn't like she's a complicated person, if anything, she just looks like an arrogant, thuggish brat who runs around in hoodies and puts her feet on the coffee types. Her default expression is quite intense, and she always seems irritated or pissed off at something. She doesn't seem to take other people's remarks all that seriously, and doesn't shy away from an argument. She makes it clear that she didn't come from the suburbs and doesn't care if others flinch at her actions. Her language is crude and littered with harsh remarks. She looks like a kid that'll cause a scene if someone ticks her off too much, possibly a fight, even. Not that a fight from this kid would probably last, but many at least respect her for her courage.
It's pretty obvious that this girl is compensating for her size. All of her emotions seem to be more volatile than they need to be. When she's angry, there will be yelling and fist shaking and stomping about. When she's sad... well, Rebecca tries not to cry in public, but she suddenly gets silent and her lip quivers. She just seems to be full of energy, and it's hard for her to contain it all. Rebecca likes the attention, even if it comes in nervous stares or a lack of babysitting offers. At least people know that she's there, and that's all the girl seems to want.
Though, this is just the outer shell. While it's true, she does love the attention she gets from acting this way, Rebecca isn't really this kind of person. Keeping a strong, if not dangerous looking facade kept her safe, or at the very least respected. Her family seemed to want this kind of child, so Rebecca provided. The girl is a pretty skilled actor, especially when it comes to mimicking her brothers. It's actually scary how manipulative the girl is, acting a certain way in order to elicit a certain emotion or perception to others. While she is no master of the human psyche, Rebecca could have easily battled with the school's Libby in manipulative bitchiness if life played out differently.
While sometimes the girl has a hard time distinguishing her actual feelings from the character she plays, the girl is sure of one thing: Rebecca isn't as fearless as she wants people to believe. Fighting terrifies her, and the thought of doing something dangerously stupid just to pull off the facade makes her wonder if its worth acting this way in the first place. Rebecca thinks that anyone would be a better meister than she is, and the training has her scared. Acting like her heart isn't pounding out her chest all the time is exhausting, and she sometimes she'd rather not talk to people in general. It'd be easier.
Real Rebecca is a bit of a goofball. She spends a good portion of her time alone dancing around to girly pop songs like a dork, or gleefully playing with jigsaw puzzles. Well, actually, she loves any kind of puzzle whether it be logic based or a riddle, but jigsaw puzzles were just easier to come by. She's a day dreamer and there are many diaries where she tries to record her fantasies as best as she can. Rebecca is pretty romantic, and loves watching or reading stories with plenty of fluff and happy thoughts. She also deeply respects artists of any sort, as the girl would have loved to learn how to play an instrument, cook real food, or create some kind of masterpiece. Unfortunately, she rarely gets to express these feelings other than people she's extremely close to.
Rebecca has a hard time trusting people, for a good reason. People in her neighborhood would probably stomp all over her hidden feelings, not being ones to care for puzzles or actually reading books. The one relationship Rebecca opened up completely in turned out to be a disaster, so she's afraid to try again. The girl is pretty lonely because of this, though that usually doesn't bother her. Rebecca has accepted that this is just the way it's going to be. However, there are times when she wished she had someone that she could cry in front of, or at the very least play a video game or two with her. Though she doesn't believe that will ever happen.
“...Wait. No. I don't even like onions. Forget what I said- it's... it's stupid.” Inside the Soul
Abilities: Soul Perception: Rebecca has developed the skill of soul perception. Her range is decent for her skill, being about a fifty foot radius, give or take. However, she isn't that great at seeing the details of the soul, only the size and the “color” the light gives off. She has learned to associate the colors with normal, weapon, and kishin egg souls, but she sees witch souls as if they were regular humans. Normally Rebecca has to focus in order to get the power to activate, but sometimes when she thinks too much, her soul perception can hiccup and blind her with a bunch of shiny soul lights when she least expects it.
Out of your Mind
Strengths: Evasive Skilled Strategist Willing to gut through many hits
Weaknesses: Lacks muscular strength Psychologically Weak Low Stamina Easy to toss around like a ragdoll Can be blinded by trust
Hobbies: Puzzles! Surfing the internet Trying new food Day dreaming The color red
Likes: Nacho Cheese Doritos Animals- Especially dogs Books with plenty of action in them Dancing like a goofball Cheesy pop songs Video Games
Dislikes: Street Fighting Arrogance Taking dangerous risks Elders Being told what to do Loosing control People who are far too serious
Aspirations: Honestly, Rebecca hasn't thought too far on that. She would like to be a skilled meister, and possibly get over some of her personal hang ups, but she didn't have many aspirations before coming to Shibusen, aside from growing up and moving away.
History: Beck's roots didn't really scream meister material. She was the only girl and youngest of four siblings, and her parents worked late night shifts at the factory to make a couple extra bucks. They lived in a small, shady town in the southwest known only for that factory and the gritty people who lived in said town and the highway passing through it. Rebecca grew up close to her brothers more than her parents, as they were never really around or awake to truly raise her; that ended up being her brothers' job. Unfortunately, her brothers weren't the best role models.
Rebecca's version of normal was different compared to everyone else. Her normal was watching her brothers come home broken and battered from whatever they were involved in, and her parents coming home in the morning just to sleep on the couch. All of her brothers were involved with gangs of some sort, but were careful not to let their tiny little sister get involved. Not without their control, anyway.
When she was about twelve, the expectation for Rebecca to be a tough kid like her siblings began. They tried to teach her how to fight and how to manage the streets. They showed her the attitude that she needed to have in order not to get eaten alive by the this town, and they expected her to have it naturally. However, her fighting skills weren't the best and she wasn't the type that imposed fear in others, and Rebecca came to terms with it. The only way to win her brother's approval was to fake it, and she was pretty good at decieving them.
Acting like some scary bully didn't leave her room for many friends, though. There were times when she felt lonely, Especially when it came to talking about things that were troubling Rebecca's mind. She didn't really know it at the time, but signs of her soul perception ability were already cropping up, and seeing glowing balls of mystery hiding in people's chest is really freaky without an explanation. Rebecca thought she was going crazy, honestly, but didn't bring this up to her brothers. They'd probably agree with her.
However, by the time she was sixteen, things started looking up. A new family moved into the house next door, but such things were common in her neighborhood and Rebecca thought nothing of it. However, when some teenage boy caught her dancing flailing around to Golddigger, Rebecca suddenly cared a whole lot more. That's when she met Daegan Dewhisp, her new neighbor and soon to be best friend. Their relationship started out kind of odd, seeing how the first words she told the boy that she would “kick your fucking ass if you tell anyone at school, new kid.” He laughed, not really believing her, but agreed to keep whatever secret he was supposed to. All he seemed to think was his new neighbor was a weirdo.
Their friendship didn't really kick off weeks later, when Rebecca was cornered by some enemies of her brothers' and she panicked. A few good hits knocked all of the fake bravado out of her, and she felt defeated and defenseless. Daegan somehow showed up at the best time and immediately went into action.
He was good. Rebecca had seen her brothers fight, and all three of them would have been nothing to this kid. She was so wowed that it she almost didn't pay attention to the red light inside his chest. She had never seen a red light before, most of them were cold and blue like really dim LED lights. Rebecca just assumed that her crazy hallucinations had a crush on him or something.
After that, Rebecca and Daegan became amazingly close. She confided everything to him: how she couldn't fight, how she felt like a failure to her family, and how she really had no dreams for the future. Daegan was understanding, though sometimes he seemed a little bit spacey. Only in retrospect did Rebecca realize that she did all the talking while Daegan rarely revealed anything about himself.
She didn't start getting suspicious until people in the area started disappearing. Teenage girls. Her classmates. More importantly to her, Daegan was getting harder and harder to find. He started ditching class, and people were starting rumors about him. Rebecca was starting to freak out more on the personal front, as her soul perception skills were starting to get more and more honed. It didn't take much effort for the lights to show up now, even when the girl didn't want to. She needed Daegan; she felt like he could help somehow. So, like any good friend, Rebecca went and tried to look for him.
It was the first time she used her soul perception as tool, instead of it being a nuisance. She didn't know what it meant, but Rebecca knew that in order to find Daegan, she had to find the red light. It was simpler said than done, and the girl spent a good portion of the night looking for him. Finally, she found the red light inside an appartment building. Rebecca naively rushed up there, happy to finally find him.
The appartment door was kicked down, the furnature in the appartment was strewn about, and Daegan was standing there with extended claws and blood on his shirt. Rebecca screamed. Instinctively, she ran away as fast as she could, but she had a feeling that whatever Daegan was, he was probably faster. She lept over the stair railings and rolled into some landscaping, desperately trying to find somewhere to hide. A sharp pain in her ankle made her stop and hide behind some bushes, feet dangling out towards the unknown.
Claws ran up her broken leg. She was panicking far too much to hear what her friend was saying, but whatever it was, Rebecca didn't trust him. She took a stick nearby and swatted at him, still screaming. Though, for the second time that year, someone came and saved her. A weapon meister pair took care of the kishin egg without much effort, but Rebecca passed out before they could talk to her. Next morning, she woke up in a hospital bed.
They explained everything to her, telling her how she ran into a kishin egg and constantly referred to Daegan as such. If she wasn't so relieved that she wasn't dead, Rebecca would have taken offense to treating her now dead friend like some kind of deadly object. They questioned her a bit, asking all of the basic stuff like “how'd come in contact with it” and “did you know this person?” blah blah blah. Rebecca trusted the people from Death City enough to be honest with them, even going as far as talking about how she kept seeing “lights” in people.
They laughed at her description and told her what soul perception was, and how only meisters were able to use such powers. Well then. Rebecca wasn't a fan of being told that she was a meister or a wizard or whatever in a hospital bed, but being told that she had some kind of power did make her feel, well, empowered.and not crazy! After getting discharged she returned home, but later she was scouted by Shibusen for their meister class.
Rebecca was apprehensive at first, knowing how terrifying these kishin eggs were now but... something nagged at her to give it a shot. It was about time she left this town, as she was done faking her way to nowhere. Maybe shibusen would finally give her some purpose? Extra Notes:
she hasn't had any sloppy makeouts on any roofs, bro
Behind the strings
Alias: Resi!
Other characters: None!
Face Claim: Sakura Kyouko, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
RP Sample: Why oh why did she like wandering around at night? Rebecca couldn't answer that. She knew very well the dangers for a girl wandering alone past her curfew, and an angry teacher wouldn't have topped that list. Yet... Rebecca couldn't deny the allure of wandering the streets of Death City at night. The city just seemed to come alive.
A blast of cold air made Becks shudder, though the cold didn't seem to bother her beyond that. She was entranced by the dim glow of appartments on the winding city streets. Her home town was nothing like this. Everything was layed out into a grid and easy to navigate. Here, the cobblestone streets kept winding and made no sense to her, aside from the fact that the best way to get to Shibusen was to go up.
“Ha...” Rebecca grumbled, “Maybe I shouldn't have said no to the map...” It seemed important at the time to establish that she was some tough-kid soon to be meister who didn't “need no help”, but now she was regretting it. Rebecca had no idea what street she was on, let alone how high up in the building pile she was. “Oh please, random building number two hundred and seventy three, random bystander,” she looked up in the sky, “...or creepy looking moon- at this point I don't give a fuck... give me a sign!”
What Rebecca got instead was some jazz music. Well, it wasn't a gps system falling from the sky, but after hearing the sound of some bluesy tenor sax... she didn't really mind. That was another thing Death City had that was better than home, live music. None of the bars back at home wanted to bother with putting up a stage for such things. It was a shame, they didn't know what they were missing.
Rebecca tried to find the sound of the music and came across a cracked door with warm light bursting through it. It was some kind of cafe, probably one of those maid cafes she saw earlier that day- one thing about death city Rebecca definitely was not used to. However, this was where the music was, and the girl would kick herself if she missed the opportunity to listen.
People were crowded in the room, all the way up to the door. She could recognize some students from the school, probably members of the better class. Rebecca scoffed. There was a chance she'd get there some day, but like hell would she look intimidated by them. No way, the girl would listen to music regardless who was here!
However, the jazz solo she heard outside was slowly winding to the close, and the background players were starting to fade out. The song was over... she missed it. People were already starting to filter out of the store, and no band replaced the one that walked off the stage. Rebecca sighed and leaned against the wall, watching all the people chatter as they left, leaving her to stare at the address.
Well, at least she would know where to go next time.

Alright I like your profile but there are a few things that need some tweaking. Age/Weight: I understand that you want her to be small but at her current size she is going to get demolished in a fight with a kishin. Please up her weight to something in the 100's and possibly decrease her age. Strengths: What do you mean by willing to gut through hits? High pain tolerance? High defense? What is it exactly? History: Alright here is where we get into a few problems. You start out good enough but I would like some more detail on this town which sounds like your common city stereotype. Gangs are usually a city thing so I would like an explanation about this, perhaps even a name. Daegan, was he a kishin egg when they met? If so he wouldn't have simply moved there and he wouldn't have just been all chummy with her. If he turned later what was stopping him from killing her? When he suddenly appeared to save her why didn't he kill the others? If he was going after girls her age she would have been the first victim. If she spent a good portion of the night looking for Daegan with soul perception she would have been exhausted by the time she found him if not passed out halfway down the road. Soul Perception does use a person's soul wavelength and as such does drain them of energy. A team from Shibusen arriving just in time to save her is skepticle but since he had been hunting for a while it is a tad more believable. Why they stayed with her in the hospital is less so. After taking her a hospital most teams would have left as they are still students and do have things to do. Overall your profile looks very good, just alter those little details and everything should be fine~
