The Nevada desert was a hot place. Because of this, it made sense that most people would dress lightly when going to the different places in death city. A lot of the Shibusen students came from much cooler climates as well. Adjusting for them normally took some time. But not for Stella.
Stella came from Ireland. Ireland was a pretty cold place, but the girl seemed to wear a trench coat at all times. Not a heavy one, sure, but it still seemed a bit hot for the climate. Because of this, the girl was used to sometimes getting strange looks. To be honest, she liked the attention.
Though perhaps she was being stared at for another reason as well. A sugar glider was perched upon her shoulder, chowing down on a small piece of yam. The little guy was adorable, so Stella saw it fit to let her see the sights every now and then. Resting in a pocket must have gotten boring from time to time. Besides, Amora was also extremely well behaved, so she needn’t worry about it gliding away.
The girl had just bought some fruit from the Shibusen marketplace, held in a plastic bag. She had made sure to hold that in her left hand. If the bag had swung and hit her right side, it would have hurt quite a bit. Stella had gotten rather injured in the last mission she had been in. Not really a big deal to her, but her stitched were still healing. She had to be careful.
Stella was headed back to her apartment. It was in the same general direction as Shibusen, so any students who looked to be going to the marketplace might run into her. Hopefully not literally run into her. That’d hurt. A lot.

In all honesty, Lurele hadn't intended to go to the marketplace. It had just sort of happened. One minute she was walking out of Shibusen with the intent to go for a jog through the city, and in a matter of minutes she had gotten lost. Not that she'd had a real destination in mind to start with, but it was mildly annoying that she was still getting lost in Death City.
"I have got to have the worst sense of direction ever..." Reaching up to rub the back of her neck, Lurele shuts her eyes and sighs loudly. She should have been used to this - Lurele had NEVER had any sense of direction. At least she wasn't on a deadline this time, the rushed conversations she'd had the previous times she'd gotten lost hadn't exactly worked out favorably.
Deciding to just ask for directions, Lurele glances around for someone she could ask. Eventually her gaze falls on a girl wearing a green trench coat - Lurele somewhat recognized her as one of her classmates, but she couldn't recall actually talking to her before. No time like the present to remedy that, at least! Holding up a hand to wave at Stella, Lurele starts walking forward to try and cut off the other girl.
"Uh, hey! Do you have a minute?" Lurele did her best to put on a friendly smile, tilting her head slightly as she approached. "I was just... Wondering... If..." The younger girl blinks a couple times, her sentence slowly dying off without a conclusion. She had just noticed the animal perched on Stella's shoulder, and her gaze was fixated on the little creature.
"Oh my gosh, your little friend is ADORABLE!" All thoughts of asking for directions disappeared from Lurele's mind as she leaned forward to try and stare at the sugar glider, wide eyed with a large smile. "What is it? I've never seen a pet like that before!" A small squeak escapes from the normally tough girl, before Lurele giggles quietly at the sight of the sugar glider. Quickly shaking her head and causing her braid to whip around a little, Lurele steps back and rubs at the back of her neck.
"Oh, uh... Sorry! I guess I got a little excited there. Er, my name's Lurele... I don't think we've actually met, though."

As Stella was walking, she was cut off by a girl. Had she seen this one before? Possibly a classmate, but she couldn’t be sure as there was a lot of those and Stella didn’t like talking to people. Even so, the girl certainly looked familiar. Though that familiarity might have come from Stella herself. The girl had a similar colour of red hair that Stella did - though hers was much brighter - and also had green eyes, though hers were darker. Stella stopped, obviously not wanting to run into the girl who had stepped in front of her. Did they want something?
The girl begun to talk, but her words quickly died down, her eyes shifting to Stella’s shoulder. At first, Stella couldn’t piece together what the girl was looking at. She had almost forgotten about the sugar glider on her shoulder, since it was so well behaved and quiet. This was until the girl started yelling about how adorable the thing was. Eck. Why were people so loud? ...Though honestly Stella had reacted the same way when she first met the glider.
Though a person was far too far in the glider’s personal bubble, the action annoyed Stella much more than Amora. The sugar glider remained nomming the little piece of fruit, making no action to run away from Lurele. The thing didn’t exactly find people threatening. All they did was hand out heat and warmth. Not much bad about them.
Despite the fact Stella had not said a thing in response to the girl’s outburst, she apologized and gave her name. Lurele. Stella blinked. Eck. These people were so loud. Once Stella had gotten over her initial surprise from the girl’s actions, she spoke. ”Uhm... I’m Stella Riordan. The pet’s a sugar glider.” A faint irish accent hung to her words, but what was more apparent was her disinclination to actually be speaking. ”Is there something you want?”
