This was just typical - not only was Lurele finally at Shibusen, but she was absolutely, completely lost. Sighing loudly as she glanced around, she picked a direction at random and started walking. She had never had any sense of direction, it was still embarrassing to get lost so easily though.
Holding her books under one arm, Lurele rolls her eyes and uses her free hand to rub at the back of her neck. "I need a map or something..." Not that it would have helped; even if she would figure out how to read one, she would have been too stubborn to use it.
"Oh well, I'll just have to get a feel for the place first hand! And I really need to quit talking to myself..." Chuckling quietly Lurele nodded confidently to herself. Surely that would be better than any map, just getting a feel for the school's layout! It wouldn't be long and she'd know the place just like the back of one of her tape-wrapped hands! She just had to stay pumped about the learning curve was all!
Her enthusiasm died from her face as she rounded the corner to find herself at a crossroad in the halls. Glancing left and then right, Lurele blanked for a few seconds. Lockers, classrooms, the usual... Nothing that stood out to her or told her where she was. "Oh, come on!" Ignoring the looks of those students near her, Lurele slumped to her knees there in the hall. "I'm going to be late to class for a month at this rate..."

Despite being in the lovely city of Death City, Elias constantly found himself rather bored. For Elias could not travel in frequent outside the walls of Shibusen, due to a peculiar permanent fever of sorts he was plagued with. And despite being a literal fan, wandering about a desert was not an idea the boy fancied. Besides, he was far more likely to find a girl willing to converse with him within the school walls. Because of this, Elias found himself wandering the halls of Shibusen often.
Today was no exception, though perhaps instead of wandering the halls the boy was more killing the time in them. He had leaned himself against a wall, doing nothing in particular other than regard the students passing by. None seemed to pay him any intent, as he wasn’t doing anything abnormal. Perhaps his odd sense of fashion was something that would draw an eye, though Shibusen was kind of known for odd attire.
If anyone had shot Elias a look, he wouldn’t have noticed. He was a bit too busy thinking about... things. Thoughts that held no merit what-so-ever. Merely things to be thought about as to pass the time. His thoughts of nothingness were suddenly distracted by a voice, however. A redhead girl, though she didn’t have the same voice as the redhead he had met when he had first come to the school. That was a relief, as Elias didn’t fancy reliving such an experience. She had slumped down to her knees, causing quite a few of the other students in the hall to give her a confused glance, though none actually doing anything to see what the issue might be. There weren’t many people in the hall, either. ”Despite how well things went the last time I attempted to help a girl who had slumped down to her knees, I’d be hard pressed to just leave someone in need.” Elias thought, pushing himself away from the wall and standing upright. ”Best go see what’s wrong. If things get dicey I can always say I have to head to the dispensary due to a terrible fever.”
It seemed the girl was lost, judging by what she had said. With speak of how she was going to be late by a month, it was all too obvious. She looked to be new, as Elias hadn’t seen her before. There was always the chance she had been around for a while as an EAT student, but that made it less probable for her to get lost in such a fashion. Walking up and standing in front of the girl, Elias put out a hand towards her, as to be used for her to help herself up. ”Are you alright, Miss?” He asked her. Elias’ voice certainly sounded charming, but it also had no accent to it. A bit odd. ”Are you, perchance, lost? I’d be more than happy to escort you to wherever it is you need to go.”

Looking up in surprise that someone had actually approached, Lurele tilts her head slightly. The voice belonged to a young, well dressed man... With a small smile, Lurele nods and takes the offered hand. She wasn't about to let him pull her up though - that could possibly make her look weak, and she couldn't have that.
Jumping up and putting her feet back under her as she stands up, Lurele grins at the young man who'd approached her and nods. "Uhm, thanks. Yeah I'm fine, I just... I'm still trying to learn the layout of the school." Laughing quietly she reaches up to push a stray lock of hair over her ear before smiling at Elias again.
"I didn't expect anyone to offer to help like that." A little ridiculous considering the way she'd fallen to her knees in despair, but it still made sense to her. "I just need to figure out how to get to class, mostly... I can figure out the rest of the school sometime when I'm not being pressed for time..."
As she looks over Elias one more time Lurele blushes slightly, realizing she'd been talking without actually introducing herself. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact she'd been too busy trying to figure out Shibusen to actually meet some of her fellow students, but her manners were slipping a little. "Oh, I'm Lurele, by the way. I'm a new meister... Though I guess the 'new' part was kinda apparent, huh?"

”Hmmm... She certainly likes to talk, doesn’t she?” Elias thought to himself as the girl seemed to be babbling. Or perhaps he was just more used to girls giving him the cold shoulder and walking off. The kind ones would normally just say thank you, and walk off. So this was actually a rather nice change, even if Elias often preferred to be the one to talk. However, her voice sounded a bit frantic. Perhaps he had scared her.
Of course, the girl’s next words put that worry to rest. ”She didn’t expect anyone to help? Now why on earth would one think that? There are plenty of nice people in the school, after all. Odd. Very odd.” As he thought this, Elias’ expression switched to slight confusion, but only for a second. He didn’t want to upset the girl, after all. Once she had finished talking, he gave her another warm smile. ”Yes, perhaps a little apparent.”
Though his words were meant to be humorous, they didn’t seem exactly right to Elias. In fact, they were rather rude, were they not? ”Ugh. Elias, you fool! You’re not supposed to agree when a woman asks something of the sort! Do you know nothing?” He thought, his expression beginning to turn a bit more panicked. Yet again, not for long. The boy quickly brought a hand through his hair. He’d simply play it off like he’d never said anything. ”The name’s Elias Larenz. I’m a demon tessen fan, to get into specifics.” The boy still spoke with the same charmingness as he had before, though there might have been a slight nervousness in his voice. Not easily detectable, but still. ”As I said earlier, I’d be more than happy to escort you to class. Especially if you’re pressed for time. I have a rather decent sense of direction, at the very least.”

Lurele had paused while Elias spoke, her head tilted ever so slightly to the left as she listened to him. Her focus was less on his words, and more on the way he as saying them. Not that it was particularly rude or odd, she just wasn't used to anyone speaking to her and sounding... Well, charming while they did so. 'Did I do something? Why is he talking like that?'
Realizing that he had asked her a question, Lurele blinked her eyes and quickly shook her head to snap herself out of her thoughts. "Wha? Oh, right! You'd do that? I mean, that would be awesome if you could!" Shifting her hold on her books, Lurele pulls a piece of paper out from between two of the heavy textbooks and holds out the hastily hand-written schedule. "I need to at least find the classroom on here, I can worry about finding the other rooms another time... Y'know, like when my grade won't be affected."
Chuckling quietly as she takes a small step back Lurele tucks her books back under her arm before looking at him again. A small smile comes to her lips before nodding slightly. "Er, it's nice to meet you and everything Elias, but are you sure you have time to show me around? I mean, I don't want you to wind up late because of me if taking me to my class would take you out of your way or something." Forcing herself to shut her mouth before she would have a chance to start rambling again, Lurele settled on another smile to drive her point home.

”Oh, but of course!” Elias chimed at the girl’s question. The girl hadn’t picked up on his nervousness, and also didn’t seem bothered by his words at all. Most excellent. This Lurele character was a pleasant change of pace when compared to the bulk of the people Elias had met during his time at Shibusen. If Elias wasn’t so used to people disliking him and attempting to harass him in many ways, he’d be far past his breaking point by now. Then, Lurele attempted to hand him a piece of paper. That was... problematic. Paper was a rather fine object. If he dropped it, there would be no way imaginable for him to pick it up again. ”Alright, Elias. Just think up a quick lie to say, and everything will be fine...”
Elias quickly brought his hands together, before speaking up again. ”Ah, you see... I’m not really currently able to hold such things. I hurt my hands a while ago. Hence the gloves.” Elias laughed nervously, hoping Lurele would buy it. ”Oh, and you needn’t worry about me missing any classes. I’m kind of on hiatus right now. Due to the hand thing.”
”Excellent. I think that’s pretty viable. My hands are covered with bandages under these gloves, too. Anyways, best turn up the charm a tad.” As Elias thought this, he brought a hand through his hair. ”My apologies for that. I should know where it is if you tell me the room number, though. Of course, such an inconvenience is the same reason we meet. It seems I’m rather fortunate, no?”

Leisurely strolling through the hallways of Shibusen, Cecil couldn't help but find his mind in a state of unease. He had some pent up frustrations, and having to continue to go to class in spite of that wasn't really helping. Not that he would show his bitterness plainly, of course. He just needed some time away for himself; barring that, he needed to find something to entertain himself.
Further down the hall, Cecil noticed a red-headed girl slump over to her knees. Cecil paused in his steps; he considered hurrying over to help her, after all, that is what a chivalrous person would do. At the same time, though, it'd be such a bother. He figured he'd just let someone else come to her aid, and go on his way. He did not foresee that it would be Shibusen's resident lech who would come to her.
Alright, lech might be a bit of a stretch; Cecil didn't really know the guy. He actually didn't even know his name. But he most certainly recognized the boy. He dressed too flamboyantly to miss, or confuse for another. How obnoxious. Further, what little he did know of him, only supported that lech label. Particularly, Cecil recalled an incident that took place in these very hallways. Not this exact hall, of course, but still a hallway of Shibusen. He was harassing some girl; just as he was now.
A-ha! Now, helping a confused and exhausted girl? Boring. Stepping forward to protect said girl from a devilish rogue with a disarming smile? Heroic!
Yoink! Cecil grabbed the paper and placed his forearm on the shoulder of the golden haired boy, acting all too familiar with the boy he'd never met. He put his weight on one leg, and leaned nonchalantly, holding the paper up a few feet from his face and quickly scanning it. He saw what he assumed to be the girl's name on it, and summarily held it out for her to grab it again, "well, Mademoiselle Lurele, I would gladly escort you to your class; I'm all too familiar with it, and it is on the way to my own." He was making the assumption that the reason she was holding the schedule out in the first place was to ask for directions. Cecil cast the other boy a sidelong glance, "now, you weren't planning on harassing this girl like the last one, now were you?" He said in a casual manner; he figured the girl probably didn't even realize the danger she was in, best he get that settled out immediately.

Lurele had been about to make a comment asking about Elias' hands before a second boy had approached, grabbing her schedule and draping his arm around Elias like they were good friends. It took her a couple seconds longer than it should have to register what had happened before she blushed slightly, reaching out to grab her schedule back from Cecil. "Oh, uhm, sure... Thanks." Her gaze drifts towards Elias again, tilting her head slightly. "What did he mean by harassing?"
If she had been caught off guard by Elias' charming demeanor before, now she was thoroughly confused. The new boy seemed friendly enough as well - the way he spoke was again something Lurele was unused to hearing, and she was left suddenly unsure of what to think of either of them. There was always the possibility he'd been lying about Elias or trying to make him look bad, Lurele was no stranger to good friends trying to embarrass each other. But if he was being honest, he sounded just as friendly as Elias. And Elias had already made such a good first impression, Lurele wasn't sure if she bought the harassment story.
Managing to get her schedule tucked back in between her books, Lurele flexed the fingers of her free hand before pushing it to her waist. Getting lost in the halls was starting to turn into an impromptu introduction to some of the first students she'd met, and it was starting to involve way more thinking than she preferred. 'What's all of this about? I really didn't want to get into a fight this early after enrolling here... Especially without having met a partner yet.'

Before Elias could hear the lovely voice of Lurele once again, hopefully providing him with an answer, the paper in her hand had vanished. Taken by a hand. Not his, of course. Who’s was the question. Elias begun to turn his head to where he believed the owner of the hand might be. Then, said hand-owner begun to talk.
Did this boy know nothing of personal space?! The hooligan had rested his arm on Elias’ shoulder. Acting like he knew him. Funnily enough, Elias didn’t recognize the boy. Why would one pretend to know him if they didn’t? Well, no. That made sense. Elias was someone worth knowing, after all. But, it was bothersome. Especially his words. He was planning on escorting the lovely Lurele? Was he using Elias’ charm to his advantage? Oh no, no, no. Elias had frozen in place after he had noted how close the hand-owner had gotten, allowing him to speak more.
”Harassing? Last one?” Elias thought to himself, sidestepping as to get away from the dastard. ”What is he on about? Perchance him to mean Gardenia? Tsk. I suppose that did look bad to the onlooker or those who might have heard of it by tongue, but still... Mentioning it is not a very kind thing. Why must I always find the rude ones? And when things were going so well, too.” Elias then turned himself to be looking at the boy. Rather average looking lad. Elias’ looks far exceeded his. Tsk. What an annoyance. ”My apologies. Do I know you?”
As Elias asked him this, Lurele spoke up again. Wait. Was she just accepting his invitation?! Perhaps she had believed him?! Oh, no. That was incorrect. The girl then asked him what the boy had meant. ”I really haven’t the vaguest idea.” Elias said. His voice remained cool, despite how nervous he was becoming. Hmmm... Now would be a good time to present himself as the good guy in this scenario. Act as though he only cared for Lurele’s well being than who actually escorted her. A small loss; he could always talk to her some other time. ”Now, I’d hate to break up such a lovely get-together, but I believe Lurele here is a bit hard pressed for time.” He then turned his attention fully on Cecil. ”So, if you were willing to escort her I’d suggest doing that soon. I’d also be thoroughly grateful for your kindness - whoever you may be.”

Once Elias had sidestepped away, Cecil bowed slightly to the other two. There seemed to have been a delay between when he established contact with the other boy and when he seemed to have noticed, which was right after Cecil had begun to speak; Cecil made note of this peculiarity. "Nope, we've never been introduced, you and I." He said in response to the boy asking if they knew each other, a slight closed-lipped smile on his face.
"Cecil Amier, Demon Weapon Extraordinaire, at your service," he directed towards the girl, with a flick of his wrist before adjusting his scarf. Now that he got a good look at her, he couldn't help but note the similarities between her and his meister; long red hair, green eyes. How droll. He glared with half-lidded eyes at the golden haired boy in his periphery as Elias denied his previous transgressions. "Oh, of course you wouldn't, Casanova. I suppose that tall blonde lady you creeped on recently was just one in an extensive legacy of screaming, tearful girls you've made for yourself." He said with a sharpened tongue, crossing his arms. Cecil was thoroughly enjoying himself, despite his seemingly annoyed look. He was doing this to relieve stress, after all, and he felt no guilt whatsoever in undermining this guy; Cecil may have been extrapolating based on what he had observed, but this chap was clearly being disingenuous. There was no way he legitimately had no inkling of an idea what Cecil had meant, and Elias's defensive denial only placed his credibility into further question.
Cecil ran a hand through his hair. He wasn't buying a word from this cur's mouth. He refocused his attention on Lurele however, softening his expression, "my apologies, Lurele. You must be new here at Shibusen, it's understandable that you could draw some less than savory attention. But for now, let's just worry about getting you to your class in a timely manner."

It was admittedly taking Lurele longer than she would have liked to process what was happening between Elias and Cecil in front of her. She still didn't know who to trust - Elias had seemed quite nice after all, and yet Cecil appeared to be trying to help out of concern... Granted, there was the possibility that one of them was lying - trying to figure out which one was the problem, and she really didn't have time to stand there sorting things out before class started...
Clenching her hand into a fist without really thinking about it, Lurele adjusts her hold on her books again before shaking her head. "Er, yeah... I really don't care who walks me to class as long as we get there before it starts." That would work for now - try and keep a neutral opinion until she learned more about both of them... Blinking a couple times, she quickly puts a smile back to her face. "I mean, I really appreciate both of you offering to help... It's really going to make a difference to not show up late to my first class, right?"
She hated this. The false smile, questioning her opinions on them... But standing around trying to figure it out meant she would be late to class, and really being on time was more important than either of these boys. Going off of what the consensus seemed to be about who would get her to class, Lurele steps next to Cecil and gives him a small nod. "Thanks again, Cecil." Still trying to appear neutral between whatever small conflict was going on between the two of them, Lurele quickly turns her gaze back to Elias. "And you too, Elias." This situation was making her want to hit something - punching was so much easier than talking. That would have to wait until after class, though...

”And I’m Elias Larenz. Also a demon weapon ‘extraordinaire’, as you put it.”[/color] Elias said, lacking the charisma he spoke with earlier. This lad seemed full of himself. Never been introduced? Then why would one pretend to be so buddy-buddy, exactly? Annoying. People in this school certainly seemed to constantly want a piece of Elias, didn’t they? Well, he supposed that was for the best. Why, the more villains the main character was put up against, the more heroic they appeared when they vanquished all of them! And the ladies always liked the heroic sort, now didn’t they? Such a thought calmed down Elias somewhat. Good. He was starting to look a bit flushed.
Cecil’s next few words did not do much more than confuse Elias. ”A casanova? As in the italian author or the film? Quite similar, yes, but I doubt someone like this boy knows much about the author. Or perhaps even either. Perhaps it’s a saying? Odd. Is it meant to be an insu-” Elias’ mind suddenly began to pull a blank as the boy continued to speak. So. He clearly knew what happened with Gardenia. He must have been watching, judging by the detail he spoke with. Elias had never noted him in any of his classes, while Gardenia was in quite a few of his. He was most likely an EAT student. It was sad how someone who preyed on others could be a high ranked student here. Tsk.
Elias’ face had become absolutely flushed by this point. No sweat, of course. He could hear his own heart pumping, though. Not good. Once Elias gulped, getting ready to speak and stop himself from possibly stuttering. He might as well explain. Not much he could lose by doing that. ”You mean Gardenia? I suppose you don’t know her. The poor girl seemed to be afraid of contact, and I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. Tsk.” As he spoke, Elias had glanced away. Lurele had begun to talk, but his focus was more on his heart. It was far too loud. Not good. Not good at all.
Quite soon, Lurele seemed to have said his name. Something in regards to thanking him. Lurele was not a very high concern, at this point. Elias’ head was beginning to feel light. He had worked himself up far too much for a day. So, when Lurele had said words of thanks to him, the most he could reply with was; ”Ah... it’s no trouble.”. Normally Elias would go for how the pleasure was all his, but not today. ”Now, if you’d excuse me...”
With these words, Elias turned his back to both Cecil and Lurele, though he didn’t begin to walk away. Too much movement might prove to worsen his fever. Elias took off one of his gloves, then took out a small pill jar from one of his pant pockets. He carefully opened it, took out a pill, and popped it in his mouth. The redness from his cheeks begun to disappear. He then put the pill jar away, and slipped the glove back over his bandaged hand again. That motion was so familiar now. Kind of pathetic, really.
