Cat was happy that he was on board with going down to the shore sometime, just chilling on the beach or at the boardwalk sounded really nice. But she did have to focus on why she was in Death City and not on summer vacations. She was a weapon training at Shibusen, she had to focus on her studies and on her training. Although, she did have a hard time focusing on things like classwork, usually zoning out to someplace better. But that was back at her old school. Now she was at that someplace better and she was going to make the most out of it.
Cat giggled a little, hopefully not noticeable to Will, when Will stumbled and tried to play it off all cool like. She had a feeling that he would try to be cool but was actually a huge dork. Which was okay because Cat was like that too.
"I was wondering. Do you like any video games?" Will asked and Cat stopped giggling to answer his question.
"Uh, a few, I'm a big fan of Pokemon and Animal Crossing but I like some other Xbox games like Borderlands and Minecraft. I'm guessing you like video games?" she asked as she tried to remember the last games she played. She was a big fan of DS games (which was quickly turning into just 3DS games) and wish she had a little more time to play some console games as well. She guessed that Will probably liked games too and it seemed like it would be good partner bonding to play two player video games together to see how well they worked together in fighting situations. It could also be for fun too.

William blushed slightly at his stumbling. He was clumsy sometimes, but he didn't let that get him down. In the end, everyone stumbles at one point or another. He thought about the cat that he once had that only stumbled once by falling into a cardboard box. It was one of the cutest things he had ever seen to this day, and he wasn't going to forget it anytime soon. After he asked the question she replied with Pokemon and Animal Crossing. Perfectly fine games, though Animal Crossing was something Will hadn't had any intention of playing. He enjoyed Pokemon though, and thought of some other games he liked. Kingdom Hearts, League of Legends, Elsword. He really enjoyed games that made you feel the experience, and to fight for a cause.
He heard Cat ask about his interest in video games. He couldn't help but laugh at himself. He replied with a smile, "I'm a huge geek. I love video games and manga and anime. I've based most of my art around an anime style, so I can't really get out of it." the boy scratched the back of his head in embarassment, "There are only three things that I can say I firmly love more than video games and stuff; the people I care about, what I believe in, and my purpose in this world."
He laughed at himself again, "Sorry. I guess I was rambling on a bit, huh?"
He looked at the ground for a second, then looked up and saw the ice cream shop. He walked towards the door and opened it. He gestured towards inside and said, "Shall we go in?"

Cat couldn't help but grin when Will stated the three things he loved more than video games. She felt the exact same way, surprisingly. "Seem's like we have the same kind of ideology," she mused, moving her legs faster to catch up to her faster partner. They soon reached the ice cream shop where they walked in, Cat telling Will that he wasn't really rambling and if he was she didn't mind. She liked to listen to people talk, she found it great when people got excited out the things they loved. You don't really see the kind of raw enthusiasm a lot.
The ice cream shop was small but had a happy feel to it. Small round tables were off to the side, chairs sitting pleasantly by the baby blue walls that covered the shop. Framed pictures of landmarks in Death City also covered these walls, really bringing the aesthetic of a big city together. Towards the back of the shop was the ice cream display and the workers, quickly making ice cream to give to the small line that was there. It was mostly children and tourists, faces pressed to the glass, their warm breaths fogging it up as they drooled over the seemingly million different kind of ice creams there were.
"Whoa," Cat gaped when they got in line, now being able to see the rows of ice cream. "This is actually insane."
As much as she loved vanilla ice cream, Cat had a feeling that her curiosity would get the better of her and she would end up getting a flavor she never had before, something like Witches Brew or Demon Guns Chocolate Soul Blast. She hummed to herself at the thought of her taste buds experiencing new flavor, not wanting to choose just one.

Inside the ice cream shop, Will traced his hand along a baby blue wall. He looked at the tables and saw them to be quite clean. He hated having sticky messes left on tables, as it got on his hoodie sleeves. The small line gave Will some time to think about his flavor. He absolutely loved chocolate. Most things with chocolate make them perfect, be it cookies, cakes or ice cream. Even chocolate by itself made William's mouth water. The boy snapped back and looked at all the flavors. There had to be at least 100 flavors crammed into this tiny shop. He looked down and scanned the flavors, judging his interest in them by name. Curry Fire, bleh. Wasabi Blast, never. Soul Serenity, maybe. Bubblegum Barrage, likely. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, maybe something different. The names and colors began to overload his brain, and then focused down to Soul Serenity or Bubblegum Barrage. He closed his eyes and imagined the flavor. The Soul Serenity most likely focused more on texture rather than taste. The Bubblegum Barrage had a sweetness and tiny bubblegum pieces in it. He weighed it down and decided with Bubblegum Barrage.
I promise myself that I will get Soul Serenity next time, he thought to himself as he came closer to the worker. He asked for Bubblegum Barrage, and received a wonderful waffle cone filled with the ice cream. He politely refused any toppings on his ice cream, and paid the fee. He exited the line and sat down at a table, waiting for Cat to sit with him. His eyes immediately sparkled with joy at the impact of his taste-buds and the ice cream. It was delicious, filled with blue and pink sweetness.

Cat watched as Will ordered his ice cream, Bubblegum Barrage, and take a seat over at one of the tables. She started to panic slightly when she realized that she was next in line and she still didn't know what ice cream she wanted. She stuttered for a moment talking to the cashier, using way too many "ums" as she tried to make up her mind. Finally she decided on Soul Serenity. She figured if she didn't like it then she could always let Will have it.
She paid for her ice cream then sat down across from Will at the table. She had gotten her ice cream in a cup since she was too lazy at the moment for a cone, and didn't want ice cream melting all over her fingers. The ice cream was blue with chunks of what looked like various kinds of sweet candy, which made Cat happy. She had a little bit of a sweet tooth to be honest.
She smiled as she took a bite, letting the many different flavors attack her tongue at once and then happily slide down her throat. Definitely a good choice on her part, even if it was kind of a gut choice. Maybe that will be how things will work out with William. Like ice cream, sometimes you just know it's gonna be good.
"So, do you live in the dorms?" she asked as she swallowed another bite of ice cream, this time getting a big chunk of mochi, having to chew for a second before swallowing. She figured that would be a good question to ask since they were now partners. Didn't partners live together? Cat couldn't remember if it was common or taboo for partners to live together. She figured it would be more common, seeing how they are bonded souls.

The ice cream was absolutely amazing. The flavor continuously attacked William's tongue. He really enjoyed the ice cream. He saw Cat sit down with Soul Serenity. Maybe I can ask her how her ice cream is, he thought as he took another lick. After enjoying his ice cream, he started to wonder what he was going to do for living in Death City. For the past few days, he had been staying in a dorm room. It was fine and all, but he would prefer to stay in a normal residence.
Chewing the pieces of bubble gum, he traced his finger along the table. He looked up and saw an expression of enjoyment on Cat's face. Her blue eyes sparkled with happiness, making Will think about really getting Soul Serenity next time. He smiled at her and then heard her ask if he lived in the dorms. He wasn't quite sure how he felt about all of this. He replied, "Yeah. For now. Honestly, living there isn't the ideal situation. I'd prefer living in an apartment or something."
He thought about the dorms. Sure they were fancy and nice, but not many students were really sociable with William. They just had different interests. Maybe he would be able to find more friends that have common interests like with Cat. In any case, he was interested about why she was asking, but let it go in case she had other questions. He then spoke to Cat saying, "So, do you live in the dorms?"

Cat nodded as she took another bite of her ice cream. "Yeah, it's not too bad," she told him. But to be honest she would rather live in an apartment. It's nothing against the other girls in the dorm, it's just that she like's to have her own space and privacy sometimes. But that really wasn't why she was asking.
"I was just thinking, um, like when we get to know each other better and stuff, that maybe we should move in together. Because we're partners. Partners do that, I think," she said, feeling heat rising to cheeks, turning her to a dark shade of crimson. It was weird asking someone to live with her because her whole life that was a step that was big for couples or best friends, not a demon weapon and a meister who just met each other.
"You don't have to if you don't want to, and it definitely doesn't have to happen right away, I was just thinking for the future," she added quickly as to not embarrass herself forward. But it seemed like she had done the opposite. What if that was too straightforward? What if Will though that was strange? Ugh, Cat's brain hurt. She hated when she did this, over thinking too much on things she says to people. She wished that she didn't do that, that she had the confidence to believe in her words. Unfortunately, that wasn't who she was and she was just going to have to live with it.

William listened intently and thought about his situation. He definitely could use some privacy too. He thought about what an apartment would be like. He would need to find a way to pay rent, or was that something covered by Shibusen? He licked his ice cream as she talked and then got down to the waffle cone. He much preferred these over the plastic cookie cones. He munched happily and heard about Cat's proposal. He paused for a moment, swallowed his ice cream, and closed his eyes. He continued to munch on the ice cream cone, finishing it off as he opened his eyes. He knew that mostly couples or close people moved in together. He placed his finger on his lips, thinking some more as he looked at the ceiling, then replied, "I think that would be a very good way to start. Since we are partners now. But you have the right idea about waiting until we know each other better. Thinking of that, if we move in together, would there be anything I can do to make that arrangement nice and comfortable? I'd like to make sure that we know each other's habits well enough so there wouldn't be any awkward situations."
He wanted to make sure that her priorities were established. Will felt that in order to live with someone, you need to respect their wishes and habits, in order to coexist with your own. Growing up, he was raised to be respectful to others, but still hold his ground. He plucked a napkin from the dispenser on the table, and made sure to get any mess off his face. Looking at Cat, he smiled and waited to hear her response.

(I'm so so so sorry for not replying in forever! I've been really busy with graduation and we went on vacation for like a week and I just didn't have time. I promise to be on more often now that I do!)
Cat finished off her ice cream with a smile although a little disappointed that it was gone. She did like Will's courtesy though, it made Cat feel good about her decision. He seemed like someone who would respect her decisions and wants. It was rare to find someone like that, it seemed like a lot of people weren't willing to work with other people and didn't care for what other people wanted at all. Cat hated that. Whenever she did something she always made sure that the other people around her were okay with the situation.
"Uh, not really, well, not anything I can think of at the moment. But when I do, I'll let you know," Cat said, knowing that her brain wasn't good with on the spot decision making. "You?" she asked. She didn't want Will to feel uncomfortable at any point either. That would make for a bad partner and Cat wanted to be anything but that. She wanted to be the best partner any miester could ever hope for. Maybe that was setting her standards a little high but she felt like Will deserved the best.
Cat eyed the front counter of the ice cream shop, contemplating getting another thing of ice cream, but decided against it. She had to start eating a little healthier now that she was here, she had to be fit and ready for a fight when the time called. She couldn't leave Will hanging just because she has a sweet tooth.

(It's okay. I understand that grad would be very busy. Congratulations by the way!)
William pondered his requirements in his head. He wanted to make sure he was comfortable, but not fussy about everything. He organized his thoughts, reasoned which ones are more of priority, and then replied, "I usually have my shower as soon as I get up. That's about all I can think of. I'll let you know if I think of anything as well."
Adjusting his posture, Will thought about what they should do next. He didn't have any other plans, and he had all of his stuff moved in. The boy shrugged to himself and then looked back at Cat. He wasn't sure what he could do now, but they would think of something. He looked around and wondered what he could talk about. He hated awkward silences, because then you end up leaving embarrassed and unsure about what just happened. Then he remembered her writing. He asked, "Any intriguing stories that you're working on? I've been needing a good read and I think your stories would be interesting."
He did enjoy reading. He also wanted to illustrate some story, as experience for his artwork. He wondered if Cat needed an illustrator. Perhaps he would ask her later. Right now, he awaited her answer about her stories.

(Thanks!)
Cat suddenly felt a blush creep up to her cheeks and she rubbed the back of her neck nervously. She doesn't really like talking about her stories. She proud of them, yes, but it's something very intimate to her and to share it with another person takes a lot of trust. She pours her heart and soul onto the pages of her stories. Could she trust Will with it?
She would have to, she thought. Will was her new partner, she was going to have to trust him with a lot of things, including her life. Maybe if she shared her stories with him that they would increase their bond together. Who knows, maybe even soul resonance would become easier.
"Well, the one I'm working on right now is about a girl who's immortal. I'm only a couple pages in but her friend just found out and stabbed her to make sure she wasn't lying," she quietly laughed, feeling a little silly. "I have some kind of finished ones though. I mean, they're finished but not edited so they're kind of crap but if you want to read them you can." Cat thought back to the notebooks full of her novels with terrible, scribbled handwriting, sentences that were crossed out, pens running out of ink so that you could barely read the words. She should really invest in a computer, or use one from the school's library, to type all of it up and put it on a flash drive. It would be easier to edit that way.

When William saw Cat blushing after he asked the question, he smiled a bit. He understood that those things were personal to her. He felt a similar thing with his drawings. Each character he drew represented a part of himself or a memory he had. Art was a gateway to the soul, just as the eyes are. He listened to the ideas of her stories, and became interested. He had seen some anime that used the concept of immortality, and how it is more suffering than eternal joy. The theme intrigued Will and caused him to pull out his sketch book immediately. After hearing the details of her story, he began to sketch a picture. It was somewhat rough, but effective.
The finished product was a picture of two girls, one that was smiling, regardless of the other one who had a look of surprise as she was holding a knife that was in her friend's stomach. After finishing it, William showed it to his partner. He smiled as he showed it, asking "So was the situation kinda like this? I enjoy drawing pictures to stories. It helps me see the story in more detail. I would enjoy reading your stories. Maybe we could go down to the library sometime so we could read them in peace..."

Cat looked at the picture in awe. She couldn't believe how fast he had drawn it and it still looked amazing. This guy really was a good artist and seeing her characters come to life on page without the use of words, instead with the lines of a pencil, was something she wouldn't mind seeing again.
"Yeah, that would be great. I have tons of notebooks back in my room that I could let you read. Some are just unfinished stories and outlines but you can still read them if you want to," Cat said, responding to his question. She had never been to the library, though, surprisingly. Well, maybe it wasn't so surprising because she had just moved to Death City and she was pretty much just taking it in still. That and the school work. The school work here was a lot different than the school work back home, less math and more fighting. Cat felt a little insecure about her lack of fighting ability and since she wanted to grow up to protect the city she wanted to get more in shape. She's been spending some time practicing what moves she already knows and the ones that she's learning. It's great exercise and it really gives Cat a sense of purpose, like her time wasn't being wasted.
"Also these drawing are amazing, I still can't get over your artistic ability," Cat smiled at her partner as she looked down at the drawing of her characters again in awe.
