Daniel entered the Dojo, wearing a tank top with the Shibusen skull on it and a pair of shorts and sneakers. He looked around, trying to decide what to train with first, when his eyes fell on the new set of training dummies made to look like Kishin and Witches. Daniel grinned and rubbed his hands together, tossing his towel over his shoulder and running up to the witch dummy.
He started with a roundhouse kick right off the bat, then followed up with a couple punches and palm strikes. Once he got tired of this, he unleashed a flurry of kicks and punches at the dummy, knocking it back on its pole all the way, keeping it up for as long as he could, until he ran out of steam and had to sit down and wipe the sweat off of himself with the towel.
"Whew...that was fun!" Dan glanced around the room at the other people training, realizing he probably was louder than he should've been, but he didn't really care, he had as much right to train here as anyone else.
After a short rest he hopped back up and rushed back at the Witch dummie, hitting it with an elbow strike to the neck, then flipping in the air to land behind it, and slamming his fist into the back of the dummy, causing some stuffing to be exposed.
He quickly stopped this and hit the dummy in the designated rib area with several rapid kicks "Yah!"
Bouncing off of it with both feet when it flung forward on its springy pole, he spun around in the air and came down hard with a kick on the dummy's skull with a roar.
Daniel landed on his feet, on the floor of the Dojo with a thump, then grabbed his towel and began wiping the sweat off, he gripped his towel hard, looking at the sweat there, he sighed. "I wish I had a meister, its been so long since I started Shibusen and I've asked almost everyone it seems like. If I had a meister I'd make us both stronger than we ever were alone! It'd be so cool!" He said to himself.

The gym had new equipment again.
The Shibusen gym always had new equipment, because the old equipment was always getting trashed. Alex guessed that was to be expected when it was getting used by people who could turn their hands into swords or people who could fire their own soul at something. At least it meant they always had the latest stuff.
Speaking of trying to break stuff.
Alex was currently working on beating a Kishin dummy into the ground, foregoing finesse or style entirely and just slamming his fist into it as hard as he could over and over again. The thing bobbed around on its spring, bouncing back from each hit only to be met with another.
The little sparks which shimmered around his hand before each impact would indicate he was trying to perform a soul purge. Unsuccessfully.
Each punch sent the dummy rocking back violently, practically touching the floor on each backswing. The face of the dummy was dented and misshaped, but all of this was done with pure physical strength and it lacked the destructive force that a successful soul purge would have given him.
The next attempt looked promising. The sparks were focused mostly in Alex’s palm and he could feel the familiar sense of power flow down his arm as he threw the punch. But then he felt it falter, he felt it begin to fizzle out and disappear long before he could make contact with the dummy. The resulting punch felt more like a light tap compared to his normal attacks.
“Damn it.”
In his frustration he hit the fake Kishin as hard as he could. He heard it slam against the ground, he heard something give near its based and this time the dummy didn’t bounce back.
He decided he’d better take a break before he started on the next dummy and walked over to the bench with his bag to get a drink. As he sat there he took a look around at the other people in the gym, most of whom were too absorbed in their own workouts to notice him or his destruction of school property.
One guy in particular seemed to be having a whale of a time. He was jumping around his own, Witch shaped dummy, throwing kicks and punches all over the place. He jumped at the dummy and bounced off of it with both feet into the air and Alex watched as he launched a strong spinning kick at the Witch’s head.
This guy must have been a Meister. Weapons tended not to focus too much on combat skills when they weren't the ones doing the fighting
Alex didn’t have a weapon partner yet and he wasn’t having much luck in finding one either. It seemed like everyone he’d spoken to was either partnered already, in the wrong class or just plain uninterested.
He hadn't even spoken to the Meister's yet. He'd been too focused on training or finding a weapon to make friends and maybe that's where he was going wrong. Surely the more people he knew, the higher his chances of meeting a partner or someone who could point him in someones direction.
Letting out a sigh, Alex stood from the bench. “What have I got to lose?”
He walked over to the guy as he was towelling down, stopping when he was close enough to be heard over the ambient sounds of the gym. “Hey. You want a sparring partner?”

Dan was so absorbed in his own thoughts he hadn't noticed the other boy until he spoke to him. Daniel jumped a bit in surprise, looking the guy over. In the recent months he'd somewhat given up his search for a Meister, or at least become less enthusiastic about it. Rather than going around obnoxiously shouting at people if they wanted to be his Meister, he'd eventually decided enough disappointment was enough, and he decided to try letting someone approach him for a change.
So far he'd had absolutely zero luck, nobody seemed to want to even be his friend. But he was OK with that, he'd show them all one day.
So needless to say he held back on his usual excitement when he was approached by a student he didn't know for a spar. He didn't even know if this guy was a Meister or not, he supposed he'd find out during their spar. Didn't mean he wasn't excited at the idea that this could be his lucky day though, he just held back a little. So he grinned at the boy who asked for a spar and said:
"Sure! I'm Daniel Gibson! Demon Guitar!" He then gave the sign of the horns with his left hand. "Haven't seen you around before, you new? What's your name and are you a Meister or a Weapon like me?" Dan gave the boy a big friendly grin.

“You’re a weapon?” Alex was a little surprised that his assumption was wrong, but shrugged it off as something he would have to remember next time. He guessed even Weapon’s wanted to get some training in here and there. “The way you were going at that dummy I thought you were a Meister.”
The first thought Alex had was about how lucky he was; he came over here expecting to find another Meister and found a Weapon instead. Not that it meant anything, he’d met plenty of Weapons and had no partner yet; he wouldn’t get his hopes up just yet.
Besides, he was a guitar. Alex had no preference in terms of weapons; he hadn’t really trained with any of them because he didn’t want to waste time training to fight with an axe then get partnered with a sword. But, he did at least expect that his partner would be an actual weapon, not an instrument.
“I’m Alex. I’m a Meister, One Star. This is my home city, but I’ve only been at Shibusen a few months now, I guess you could say I’m still pretty new.”
Alex took a look at the dummy Daniel had been working on. It looked pretty beat up already; the seams were coming lose in places, exposing the stuffing inside, and the floor around it was littered with pieces that had fallen off or out of the dummy.
Either someone else had been working on it earlier or Daniel was fairly strong for someone who wasn’t going to be fighting himself.
“Why is a Weapon practising fighting anyway? No offense, but isn’t that the Meister’s job?”
