((Outfit))Zimora strolled up the stairs to Shibusen. She wasn't attending classes for today so she decided that now would be the best time for her to get comfortable with Death City. What better place to start than the main attraction? Silently cursing the architect of the building and thankful for her large glasses that hid most of her annoyed expression. It wasn't that it was too hot for her, it wasn't any hotter than it was in Texas, and the Nevada air was just so dry. At least down south there was a sea breeze, not that it made it cooler. Humidity was just better for her hair. She could practically feel the ends frying with every step she took. She didn’t even bother to straighten it this morning but she did make a quick note to buy an oil spray or maybe order one online. “Jee-sus.”, she huffed reaching the final few steps. Zimora looked up at the sky, shooting the abrasive sunlight a glare, and casually flicked her head to the side in a failed attempt to remove a stray curl from her face. Reached the final step and watched the school in genuine amazement. For a brief moment she felt overwhelmed and the slightest doubt began to creep on her, Zimora cut off her own thought process there. “Ain’t got no time to be doubting stuff now.” She hitched her bag higher on her shoulder, “Would just be a waste a money on my part.”Zimora pulled the defiant curl behind her headband, letting the hand fall on her hip she approached the school with apparent confidence. She stopped short and patted her hips, "No?" she quickly unzipped her purse with a frown starting to form on her face. A hand dove into the brown leather bag hanging on her shoulder. A second later Zimora sucked her teeth and the same hand came up empty. She balled it into a fist and pressed it to her lips in thought. She left the map from her mother in her suitcase, what a stupid mistake. Zimora let out a frustrated sigh and the hand fell to her side. She grumbled at the school, "Really?" eyes rolled behind the large sunglasses. "I can't believe this."

Another day, another heat wave. Arlie didn’t mind, though. The heat reminded her of home, and settling into it had just been part of the process. After all, it could always be hotter! The urge to take her skates to school and see if she could somehow roll up the steps without toppling over backwards to her death had been tempting, but the blonde had eventually decided that she wasn’t quite ready. Yet. One of these days, though, Arlie was going to skate down the Shibusen steps. Probably with Zia filming it nearby. Or Nate. But she could decide that later. The trek up the steps had gotten easier since her arrival which was both expected and a huge relief. Arlie had taken to them with zeal several weeks ago and been dragging her feet all the way to the top from halfway up, but now she pranced upwards with a bright smile on her face. As a daily challenge, it was more fun to her to try and see just how she could tackle it in a new way day to day to keep it from getting boring. With the bottoms of her boots clacking against each step and her blonde curls bobbing jauntily behind her head where they were secured, Arlie was convinced nothing could stop her. Except maybe a new face. Arlie reached the top and paused to take a few deep breaths, reaching her hands above her head towards the sky in a stretch. The smile never left her face. She was definitely ready and warmed up for whatever the day had to throw at her! However, grey eyes quickly caught sight of someone she didn’t remember seeing before standing nearby. Catching the girl’s last sentence, Arlie tilted her head. Tucking her arms behind her back and standing with one hip jutting slightly out by how she held her weight, the blonde put on an expression of light concern for the stranger. “Somethin’ wrong?” she inquired.

Zimora stood before the school with her phone in her hand, she lifted her glasses with a finger in attempts to get a better look at the screen. Her expression one of total irritation and she scrolled quickly through images. It was fully possible that she took a picture of the map just in case. She was always prepared for things like this, but not today sadly. Zimora let her hand fall back to her him and put her phone in her bag as she sucked her teeth in irritation. Her naturally stern face fell into a scowl, she glared at the school from behind her glasses and pulled at a curl thoughtfully.
Turned to look down the steps in brief consideration, she shook her head after a moment, “Nah. If I go down I ain’t coming back till tomorrow.” The girl sighed and turned back to the school. There were a few students that passed by her as she stood there and Zimora could only imagine how absolutely stupid she looked standing there. Her hand came to cover the back of her neck and she noticed how tight her chest was beginning to feel. Wait. Was she scared? Of a building? No, of couse not, she was just hot and frustrated. There's nothing to be afraid of. Zimora eyes began to sting slightly, she sniffed, and for some odd reason she really wanted to call her father.
Dark brown curls shook as Zimora started to turn on her heel. She would try this again tomorrow, her mind obviously was not ready for it. “Somethin’ wrong?” Zimora saw the blonde while she was turning and the first thing she noticed were the boots, the fact that she walked up the stairs in them was enough to earn her respect. The brunette cleared her throat before speaking and gave the girl a small grin, “Ah, yeah, could you help me out? I needa find where the, ah wassit called? The E.A.T. classes.” While she was incredibly grateful that someone showed concern and wanted to hug the girl in thanks Zimora pushed herself to sound calm.

For a moment Arlie had wondered if she’d said something wrong. She had managed to catch her right as the girl began turning, but by the way the girl pulled herself together she decided not to mention it. The blonde returned the stranger’s small grin with a brighter one of her own, straightening a bit as she asked her where the E.A.T. classes were. Ah, perhaps she was a new student? Or at least relatively new if she wasn’t familiar with the area. Arlie nodded, the curls of her ponytail bobbing jauntily behind her head, “You betcha! I was just headed there myself.”
Arlie turned slightly, beginning to walk again with a slight bounce added to herself. Meeting someone new first thing, this was turning out to be an exciting day already and it’d only just begun! The Texan folded her hands behind her back, keeping a vague eye out over her shoulder as she continued to backpedal. Being a guide however temporary wouldn’t be nearly as much fun if she happened to run into someone on accident. “You a new student?” she asked out of habit. “I dun think I’ve seen you ‘round these parts before.”
Not that Arlie knew everybody in the school, of course, but she at least knew faces. At least where her own class was concerned. She could at least recognize most of the One Stars. Even so, she’d run into a surprising number of newer students during her run at Shibusen. That couldn’t be a bad thing, though. Just meant more people help fight that big bad bullies out running amok in the world, strength in numbers and all that. The blonde noted their proximity to the doors of Shibusen and spun a circle on her heel, bending to grasp the handle of the door on the left and skipping back as she opened it for the other girl. “After you,” she said with a sunny smile.

It is said that time is relative. By who and why Alex didn’t know, he never did have the patience to listen to a whole lecture, but it basically meant that time seemed to pass at different rates depending on what you were doing. So, time would fly when you were having fun or had a deadline but would drag on forever when you were say, waiting for something.
None of that really interested Alex, he saw and had no use for such information, but it offered a handy explanation for why lectures seemed to last forever and why, once again, his lunch break seemed to have flown by.
He hadn’t even had time to get something to eat yet.
He turned a corner into the main hallway of the school, or at least the one which led to the schools main foyer and its entrance.
All he had to do was make his way outside and across the schools wide balconies, down the endless flights of stairs, make a quick visit to that bakery he had found a few weeks ago, buy something for lunch, make his way back up the endless flight of stairs and into his next class either before it starts or without his lecturer noticing. And he had to do all of that in about, oh, ten minutes.
The stairs would be a good workout at least.
He reached the foyer and had just touched his fingers to the handle when the door opened and took the handle with it. Preparing to push a door which was suddenly absent left Alex unbalanced and he tipped forward into the breach.
“Woah.”
He caught himself on the next step without falling but the motion still left him suddenly in the presence of two people, two girls, he really was not expecting to bump into and who probably weren’t expecting him to appear from nowhere either.
The girl in front of him, the one who was just about to walk through the door, was someone he hadn’t seen around before. Either she was a higher rank than he was or she was in the NOT class. Or she could have been one of the newer students, newer than himself anyway, that seemed to be popping up every day.
The other girl, the one who had pulled the rug out from under him as it were, was someone he did at least recognise but didn’t really know. She was a weapon in the One Star class; Arlie he thought her name was.
To be honest he knew her name mostly because he had asked around the class for weapons who didn’t have partners yet and her name came up. He had considered talking to her a few times but their paths had yet to cross. Until now at least.
“I was not expecting that door to open.”

“You betcha! I was just headed there myself.” Zimora felt like her luck was finally changing for the better, hopefully everyone at the school was this helpful. She followed as the girl started towards the school shrugging her bag higher on her shoulder. Her lips slowly curled into a gentle smile as the blonde skipped backwards, people like this always had an infectious type of happiness. Zimora was feeling rather excited but it would be impossible to tell from the way she followed after Arlie.
Her head swiveled as she took in the school for the second time and her stomach twisted again. The feeling was quickly dispelled as her attention was caught by the question. Zimora hummed as she nodded, “Yea.” A brief second passed before something in the brunettes head clicked, “My fault, m’name Zimora, what’s yours.” The girl’s eyes would fall on the blonde as she opened the door. Zimora thanked her politely as she walked through the door but froze before she could run into the person on the other side.
Zimora noted that the first thing she saw was his stomach, her eyes looked up slowly, the thought that this person could probably throw her occurred in her head for whatever reason. Why is that the first thing she had to think of? “Sorry”, still, this guy was probably a whole foot taller than her, Zimora blinked as she looked up at him, maybe she was exaggerating. That odd twisting feeling began in her stomach again, was she hungry? No, she ate before walking. Zimora’s eyebrows knit together in confusion but her eyes stayed focused on the male in front of her.
“I was not expecting that door to open.” For some reason the comment irritated her, who doesn't expect a door to open. This is what doors do. Her stomach seemed to relax at the thought and she took a breath, “S'cuse me.” Zimora blinked a few times, finding an opening under his arm and attempted to side step the man.

Arlie appeared thoughtful for a moment upon hearing the girl’s name. Zimora, Zimora, Zimora! Three times usually did the trick when it came to her managing to remember people’s names. The sunny smile returned to her face a moment later, “Well Zimora, I’m Arlie,” she said as the girl began to pass through the door. “It’s a pleasure to meetcha!”
The blonde heard another’s voice and caught movement out of the corner of her eye. Her ponytail whipped the side of her face when she turned and then tilted her head to see. Oh, woops. She really needed to be better about being aware of her surroundings. Hearing the boy’s statement, Arlie pursed her lips a bit, though the smile never left her face. It just grew shyer. Free hand going to rest over her heart, she took on a bashful appearance and blinked, “Golly, I’m sorry, sugar! I didn’t see you walkin’, there.”
She lifted her hand to knock herself on the head once gently. Waiting for Zimora to pass on through, Arlie kept the door open. After all, it would be rude to shut the door on the poor boy after having nearly caused him to topple over. She was glad that hadn’t happened, it only would’ve made the situation worse. Grey eyes scanning him again, the blonde realized s recognized him. He was another One star, she remembered seeing him around class, but hell if she could remember his name.
Well, now that she knew that it was going to bother her. Continuing to look him over with a bit of an odd expression, Arlie held one hand on her hip in the form of a closed fist. Tilting her head to the right and then to the left, it took her a few moments to remember that staring was rude and that she was probably weirding the poor kid out a little bit. The bashfulness returned, the blonde giving a bit of a nervous laugh before clarifying, “Sorry, it’s just I know I know you, but darn if I can recall yer name!”

“S'cuse me.”
“Oh, sorry.” The girl was a few inches shorter than himself and Alex had to crane his neck down to look at her; he stepped aside of the doorway so that the girl he had nearly bumped into could get past. For some reason Alex got the impression that he had annoyed her somehow; the way her brows were knit together and the way she was trying to squeeze past him…
Oh well, she was probably just hurrying to get to class. It wasn’t like he shouldn’t have been in a rush as well.
He looked up at the other girl who was still holding the door open and was a little surprised to see that she was staring back at him. He watched as she eyed him up and down, tilting her head from side to side like she was puzzling something out. Being under her scrutiny felt a little weird; he suddenly felt self-conscious and a little hot under the collar for reasons he didn’t understand.
“Sorry, it’s just I know I know you, but darn if I can recall yer name!”
The southern drawl in her voice took some of the tension away. It seemed like her voice just couldn’t help but sound friendly.
“Its fine, I’m still new. I’m Alex. I’m a Meister.” Alex reached up an rubbed at the back of his head. “Sorry, but I don’t know your name either; pretty sure it’s starts with an A but can’t say more than that.”
He turned to the other girl, the one he didn’t recognise, who was still standing beyond the doorway. “And I’m afraid I don’t recognise you at all. I’m guessing you’re even newer than I am?”
