Lior didn’t need to venture out of the house to practice her violin. Her room was certainly adequate enough, and the media room would have sufficed also, but recently she was beginning to notice just how lonely it was in such a large house with so few people. The fact that she was usual on her own doing schoolwork and studying did nothing to help this feeling. It wasn’t something she was used to, missing company, especially not with an entire childhood spent mostly in solitude. So, the albino had ventured out of doors with her violin case in hand. It proved to be a bit of a hassle, that was for certain. Making sure the case was never dropped or bumped or befalling any disaster to damage the instrument inside put her a bit on edge, but she managed until the end of classes. With the NOT class having vacated the dance studio for the day, Lior decided to stay after and at least put the empty space to good use. Leaving her school bags shoved in a neat little pile in the corner, she removed her violin from its case and walked more towards the middle of the room. She plucked the strings absently at first, her eyes closed while she listened to the sound of each note, twisting the tuning pegs as needed to get the correct sounds. Once they started to sound clear, she drew her bow across the strings to test them one more time. What to play though? Lior hadn’t really given it much thought. She also hadn’t brought along her music stand of any of her books, so the albino had mistakenly limited herself to memory alone. Staring down at the floor for a good long moment, she finally decided on a Bach piece and positioned her violin upon her shoulder, raising her bow arm before beginning to play. Sound echoed off the walls, and soon enough there was a small smile adorning Lior’s face. Whether the song could be heard all the way into the hall was unknown to her, not that she really minded. In her opinion it would be good if anyone were to hear, after all being told over and over again how good she was by the same people in the same house for the same music did get rather tiresome. It would be nice to hear from someone else if they thought her playing as good as her closer acquaintances thought it to be. It was a passing thought, though, fading soon after it arrived and leaving Lior to continue playing.

Tori left her last NOT after saying good bye to her weapon Dante. It had been a long day for the mister and the only thing she wanted to do was relaxes for a while. She didn’t want to go home right away and while she knew she could go home with her weapon and hang out for a while she decided not to. No Tori had made the plan earlier that day that she was going to practice her singing at the school and while she normally did this at home the type of music she was training her voice for her mother didn’t much approve of it. Since the age of five Tori had been trained to sing classically and now she wanted to branch out and try new things but her mother didn’t like the idea of her moving away from her opera toned voice. As she made her way down to the dance room Tori could hear the faint sound of someone playing the violin. She didn’t pause as she walked however in fact she quickened her pace to see where it was coming from. She didn’t know may other students that played the violin and if any did she wouldn’t have thought it would sound like this. Tori rounded the corner to where the door was to the dance studio. She could hear the music as clear as ever even threw the door. Tori very carefully opened the door and popped her head inside to see who was playing. Tori’s eyes fell on the albino girl standing in the middle of the room. She had seen her around the hall and in some of her NOT classes but Tori had never really talked to her. It wasn’t that she was freaked out because the girl was albino it was just the fact that this girl was a quite one in class and seemed very studious. Tori just never felt the need to strike up a conversation with her. Carefully and quietly Tori opened the door to the room the rest of the way and snuck in. She just didn’t want to make a lot of noise and disturbed the girl as the played. Tori knew firsthand how bothersome it was when you were so deep into a song and then someone comes crashing into the room. So she went over and sat down at a chair placing her bag on the floor next to her. She waited for the other girl to finish playing the song before she made herself know in the room. Tori gave a few lightly claps and looked to her. ”That was very beautiful.”

Lior may have registered footsteps but equated them with ambient noise from out in the hall, not really thinking anyone would actually wander in despite her earlier thoughts. Drawing out the last note of the finishing line, Lior nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard clapping. The albino startled and spun around on her heel, muted ruby eyes growing wide and making her look the picture of a deer in headlights. Actually laying eyes her, Lior did recognize her from somewhere. She had seen her in the NOT class, generally with a blonde young man that she assumed was her Weapon. From instances of overhearing conversation and glancing around the classroom, she recognized her as being quite spirited and certainly not who she expected to attract. Even so, she did like her style or dress.
Lior blinked and tried to will her thundering heart to calm itself, after all it was only a person. Hearing the praise, the albino felt her face heat up and knew she had to be the color of a strawberry. The knowledge that she was blushing only served to embarrass her further, though she managed to align her violin at her side like she’d been taught to for years and bow slightly, “T-thank you.”
And there was the stutter. Great. Fantastic. Shuffling her feet, she adjusted how she held her bow and lifted her violin again, though not to her shoulder. Instead she almost appeared to cradle it. With both of her hands full it was impossible to hide her still reddened face, so she opted for looking anywhere but directly at the girl before her. Flustered continued to be her general state of being as she looked towards the door, managing to glance up at her unexpected spectator, “I-if you need the room I-I can leave, I-I was just p-passing the time.”
Hearing how uncertain she sounded, Lior forced her mouth shut and kept it that way until the girl answered. She was getting better at social interactions, but apparently she still was doomed to have some very off days until she was completely settled. She didn’t want to be at home all alone but she still didn’t have the confidence to really reach out. Lior sighed internally. Could she be any more of a walking contradiction? She couldn’t even stammer out a proper sentence, granted that was partly because she’d been surprised. She did hope that would lessen, otherwise this was setting up to be a rather tense afternoon for her.

Tori was surprised when she saw the girl startle at her clapping but she had to remind herself that she hand snuck into the room while she was wrapped up in her song. More confusion passed over her face as she saw the other girl turn a little red and become shy towards her. She knows that this other girl was shy in class and even out of class. She hadn’t really seen her talking to anyone but another NOT student. Tori couldn’t understand why she was so sheepish around her maybe it was because of her appearance? It didn’t bother Tori in the slightest if she had judged her purely on her looks also that would be cruel and anyway with that thought in might she would have thought this girl might be a fashioneista with her outfits. When she mentioned about leaving Tori got to her feet and shook her head to this.
”Oh please don’t mind me you don’t need to leave. It seems like we both have come for the same reason to practice music. I’m sorry if I startled you but I was unaware of anyone else at this school that played the violin and I had to hear how good you are and from what I did hear you are very good.”
Tori walked over now to stand near the other girl looking at her violin. Just from one glance she knew it was a very expansive and extremely well made instrument. It told Tori from just looking at it not only had this girl ben play a long time, probably since she was young, but also she knew how to take care of the instrument and keep the sound of it perfect. She gave a little nod of her head and looked back to the other girl.
”You Lior right? I think we have a few classes together. I’m Victoria but you can just call me Tori for short everyone else does. If you don’t mind I can share the room with you. I was just coming here to practice some singing. I hope that will be all right.”
Tori gave her a little smile to try and make the girl feel more relaxed. There was nothing worse than having someone trip over their words for no reason. This could also be a good opportunity for Tori get a little closer to getting over her stage fright. True it was only one other person and Tori could sing in front of a few people before she started to panic but it was also nice to have another enjoy her songs.

So she wasn’t getting kicked out? Okay that was a plus. It really was nice to be able to practice outside the house, and to know that another found her playing beautiful was certainly encouraging. Even so, Lior didn’t want to impede the other girl in any way. Apparently she wasn’t the only one out to better her musical skill today. She wondered what the other girl’s specialty was, or if she had one. Shaking her head at the apology enough to send vague white curls shifting in how they fell over her shoulders, Lior’s blush deepened again, “N-no it’s alright, really. Y-you didn’t mean to, a-after all.”
If she could just stop stuttering the entire situation would be better. Taking a deep albeit somewhat shaky breath, Lior tried to calm herself. This time it worked a bit better, some of the heat leaving her cheeks and her shoulders lowering a bit. Bowing her head slightly, she mumbled a bashful, “Thank you very much,” at the added praise. She really was glad the other girl had enjoyed her playing. Abigail always did, but she was her nanny. Lior couldn’t help but suspect that the older woman was at least a tiny bit biased.
As she approached her, Lior noted the glance at her violin. The albino shifted it around in her arms so the girl could see it better. To be fair it wasn’t really hers, or at least not originally. The dark and polished string instrument had originally belonged to her grandfather on her mother’s side. It was one of few things he’d had left after leaving France in the aftermath of the second World War. He couldn’t play it anymore with his arthritis, so he’d given it to her for her birthday several years ago.
Hearing her name on the girl’s lips, she nodded quickly. Yes, she was Lior alright. Ah, that explained why she looked so familiar. The albino knew she must’ve seen her before, and lo and behold they were in the same class. A small smile formed on Lior’s lips, her nerves calming more or less so she didn’t look so much like a deer in headlights. That was hardly attractive and also not exactly helpful in situations where she needed to talk to people like she was now.
Listening along to Tori’s proposal, Lior nodded in agreement, “I think that sounds fair. That way we both get to practice, and I’d love to hear you sing. "
