    Masa has short, black hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. He has a slender build, but with an adequate amount of muscle. His hair gives off a certain blue in light, and his face is thin with strong eyes, and his ears are partly covered by his hair. He usually wears a black hoodie and a blue shirt, with blue jeans and black sneakers. His shirt hangs slightly, exposing the top half of his scar. Masa has two scars. One scar is on his chest from when he was attacked by a man with a knife. The other was from a childhood injury from running with scissors. He also wears two silver rings; one on either index finger. The rings have small grooves around, and tiny loops connecting around the rings like a chain. His soul wavelength is the same blue as his eye. Masa also wears a silver bracelet on his right wrist. He wears a black leather belt, with a rectangular silver buckle. It is a series of silver, rectangular segments, with a 7 engraved on every other segment. When at a special occasion, he wears a white hoodie with a red shirt underneath with black jeans and white sneakers. His posture is average, and he usually has a content look on his face. While walking around, he usually has his hands in his pockets. When embarrassed, his hair sticks up ever-so-slightly as he blushes.

Fighting Style: Masa's fighting style is meant to be quick, accurate, and damaging. In martial arts, he prefers to use a variety of kicks with his acrobatics in order to distract opponents. He uses the terrain to his advantage, such as kicking trash cans into his enemies' path, or swinging off of a lamppost to gain momentum for a kick.

He learned the kicks and techniques from his grandfather and a local martial arts instructor (Mostly Tae Kwon Do with some aspects of Kyokushin, a type of Karate). Combined with his agility, he created his own fighting style. He didn't completely master these martial arts, but achieved enough experience for self-defense. While it is good for distraction and powerful kicks, he can sometimes be caught off guard. When fighting larger opponents, he tends to aim for their legs to knock them over. For smaller opponents, he keeps up speed with them so he can block and counter attacks.

Personality: Masa is a quiet person for the most part, and tries to find people he will get along with, while trying not to draw all attention to himself. He enjoys music and art, and wants to be an artist as well as a top meister. He tries to be kind to people and make sure that people get along, but if he gets angry, he tends to be physically violent. On a day to day basis, he prefers being with people he knows or being alone at home, so he would be considered an introvert.

He doesn't like many people, as he has had bad experiences with others at his old school (bullies, unfair teachers, isolating classmates).
He has a lower self-esteem, and doesn't like to talk big about himself. He has a strong sense of justice, and wants to make sure that it's dealt out. Even if he appears physically weak, he has a strong will and will not be broken by bullying or harm.

He doesn't do so well with crowds, but will do what's necessary to do what is right. With his friends, he can be sociable. He has a slight sweet tooth, and enjoys making his dreams a reality. He prefers to avoid conflict, but will fight if necessary or angered. He can be triggered to anger in different ways; he doesn't like waking up before he's supposed to, he hates noise and will do what is necessary to eliminate it. He can also be angered if something negative is said about someone or something close to him (Friends, keepsake, disrespecting his ideas/beliefs, etc.).

Masa has a habit of putting his hands in his pockets, mostly for warmth and comfort. When fighting, he prefers to put his hood up, as to give an "air of mystery". If angered, he usually tries taking a deep breath. If that fails, he walks away and punches the nearest, breakable object. If that doesn't work, he'll usually damage the one causing his irritation. He inherited his father's temper, along with his habit to bottle up his emotions to avoid conflict, which caused him to have violent tendencies when angry.

History: Before Shibusen, Masa lived a normal life in Canada with his family. His ancestors originally came from Japan, but immigrated during the 40s. After a few generations, he was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and lived in the same house for 15 years. He was a quiet child, and tried to get along with others as best as possible. He eventually made a very good friend named Akane Remunanto. When he was 10, he was involved in a small argument with a bully on a playground. The bully was making fun of Akane and Masa, saying they were dating. The boy tried to explain, but was constantly interrupted. Eventually, Akane stepped in and told the bully to stop and leave them alone. That statement resulted in the bully pushing Masa's new friend off of a playstructure. This action caused him to snap, and he put the bully in the hospital, and the boy had to go to psychological counseling for 3 weeks to help with his anger management. His family told him he inherited his father's temper, and that he needed to learn self-control.

During his entire childhood, starting at age 7, his grandfather taught him swordsmanship. He learned a few different styles, such as katana or rapier. He succeeded more in the katana, but could handle the rapier decently.He also learned some Tae Kwon Do from his grandfather, and also some Kyokushin from a local instructor, both starting at age 8. He enjoyed training, and it caused him to gain control of his temper. He became well adapted in acrobatics and kicks in Tae Kwon Do, using this style for self-defense and evasion. When a conflict arose from then on, he tried to resolve it without having to use his fighting skills.

When Masa was 14, he was walking home and went down an alley for a shortcut. He heard footsteps behind him, and knew something was wrong. He had this instinct before in dangerous moments, and turned around to see a man with a knife. He could see a red sphere in the man's chest. He wondered what it was. With the man rushing toward him, he barely dodged the incoming attack. He didn't have time to ask questions, only stay alive. Masa did well in fending off the attacker, but was cut in the chest when he got too close. He received a hard punch to the face, and the last thing he saw was the man smiling over him, with blood on the knife.

The man got closer, ready to finish the boy and devour his soul. The man was stopped by a woman with an axe, and he fell over dead. A kishin soul appeared from his corpse, and was absorbed by the axe. The axe transformed into a man, and the two called an ambulance to take the boy to the hospital. The woman applied a basic bandage, then left with the man.

Waking up, he felt a soft, warm feeling on his body. It was different, but friendly. He opened his eyes and saw himself in a hospital bed and his relieved family. The doctor told Masa the wound would scar, but he didn't care much about that, although he was very lucky. After he recovered, Masa left for home with his worried family. Over the next few days, the young boy learned that what he saw was the man's soul, and knew he was a Meister. He tried doing it again, and saw the souls of his family clearly. After asking his family about this, they confirmed when he was told about his great grandfather and great grandmother, who were also Meisters. They worked for Shinigami, and were Sword Technicians. He was disappointed that his family didn't tell him sooner, wondering what why they kept it a secret. They always avoided it, never extending beyond "They were great Meisters". He wanted to know who he was, and what he could do, but he couldn't find it at the place he was now.

And so, the young boy applied for Shibusen and was notified in weeks that he was accepted. His parents were concerned about Masa going to the academy, but reluctantly agreed as long as he promised to do his best there and never give up. The young Meister agreed. His parents bought him a plane ticket and flew him to Death City. There, he prepared for his new life. Masa wants to get a partner, but is having a bit of trouble with socializing. He's living in he dorms, and while living there, he's had to deal with unfriendly neighbors, but usually dealt with them in a civilized manner. Masa is slightly nervous about his time at Shibusen, and he wants to rise up to be the best Meister in the academy.

RP Sample: A boy walked down the cold, dark streets of Death City. His short black hair moved slightly in the breeze, and he wore his black hoodie and blue jeans with black sneakers. He was walking home at night, the black moon giving off a slight light. He was slightly irritated from class, as he had some homework to do. He absolutely HATED homework, and didn't appreciate his teacher giving some right before the bell.

In the middle of his walk, he noticed a man in front of the bar entrance. He was taller with less hair, and wore a leather jacket with blue jeans. There was an "Oni" patch on his shoulder, most likely some gang symbol. He gave a "delinquent" vibe from a distance, and walked towards the young student. When getting closer, Masa could smell sake on his breath, and knew the man was drunk. Can't beat a guy like him yet.Let's play this the safe way... he thought as the man leaned forward to look intimidating. It really just intensified the drunk odor.

"Whattaya lookin' at kid?" the biker asked irritably. Masa gave no signs of hostility, and calmly said, "I'm sorry. I'll be heading off now."

The boy walked off with a brisk step and the biker shuffled off. As he walked down the streets again, he thought what jerks people can be. "I didn't do anything to him, so why did he look at me like I'm the bad guy?"

Masa kicked a pebble on the sidewalk, and shrugged it off. He took a deep breath and exhaled. Just remember, he thought, You're morally no better or worse than anyone else. He put his hands in his pockets to stay warm, and saw a Weapon and Meister walk by. The lone boy gave a small smile as they said hi, and continued. He was somewhat sad. He had been here for weeks and couldn't find anyone to partner with. No one with a compatible wavelength. He leaned against a wall to think of what to do. What if I don't find someone? What if they'll kick me out because I can't find a partner? I kinda like being here. I don't want to go back without figuring out how to be a Meister! These were the thoughts running through his head. Looking up, he saw his dorm on the opposite side of the street, and walked over. He stood at the door, his head hanging in worry.

Taking a deep breath, he relaxed and said, "Everything will be fine." as he opened the door and went inside.

Before we get into anything that needs to be edited let’s talk about the problem with Masa and Akane, that problem being that you may not play a partnered team all by yourself, it isn’t how we do things on the site. In addition, you need to make separate accounts for each character that you make. You’re free to make Masa and then Akane once you get posting with him, but you may not pair them up as a team together. That being said, let’s get started on Masa:

Firstly, your account name needs to match your character name.

His appearance needs to reach the minimum word count of the site, that minimum being 250 words.

You have him listed as 6’1 and being 130lbs. Going by the height/weight chart we use on here, he is extremely underweight and would be downright skeletal. Please fix this if that isn’t what you were aiming for.

Specify his fighting style more. Add some more explanation to it. Does he use mainly his feet or hands, is there any weakness to it, has he studied a particular style or is he mainly self-taught, etc.

His personality also needs to be at least 250 words. Talk about he acts on a day to day basis, id he has any particular habits, if there’s a specific reaction he displays when angry or sad or anything, etc.

There is no reason for his soul perception to cause his eyes to have blue flames, please remove this. In addition, talk about his clarity of soul perception and put a limit on it to how far he can see.

For his resonance, remove them. No One Star Meister that is just starting on the site would be allowed one, let alone two. And, as stated before, you will not be allowed to run a team by yourself. If you like, keep them filed away somewhere so that when the time comes, you can purchase them.

His strengths and weaknesses are almost there. If you’re going to make him Psychologically Weak, you’ve gotta go all that way and not limit it to only when he’s angry otherwise it’s only a disadvantage since he will not be angry in every battle. In addition, since he will not be partnered with Akane, his strength of having a combat skill is moot, not to mention it also doesn’t specify anything in his history how or when he learned these things. Strengths and Weaknesses must be applicable in every battle, and there is a thread to help you out if you need it.

Onto his history!
If he is from Canada, then please specify why he has a Japanese name? Did his family move there at some point or was he born there after they had moved, possibly several generations ago?
He can still be friends with Akane, but again, he won’t be able to partner with her.
The situation with the Meister rescuing him is iffy. Was the man with the knife a Kishin Egg? If so, then the Meister would have had to have their Weapon present as well, and that would also make far more sense. In addition, a slight cut to the chest would not leave a scar like you described in his appearance, nor would it have been life threatening if it was slight. In addition, you don’t just decide to become a Meister, it is something you are born with. Most people have instances or experiencing Soul Perception or Soul Purge because they activate them on accident.
One does not simply accompany their friends to Shibusen. Akane would not have been able to go along with Masa to Shibusen if she did not already know of her Weapon capabilities since Shibusen is not a partnered normal school. Also while teams may be suggested by teachers if a student is c, they are not assigned as it is key to find someone who is compatible with your wavelength. Teachers cannot automatically know that, so students have to search around on their own.
They do not need to be preparing for when the Kishin breaks out of the moon, it is stated in the site’s history and plot that the people originally involved (Soul, Maka, Kidd who is now Shinigami-sama, etc) are already doing that since they would be the ones to take care of it.
His history also seems revolve soley around him and Akane. Please include more of Masa’s own life, how he learned he was a Meister, and so on.

His RP sample you’ll probably want to change since once again, you may not run a team by yourself.

His appearance is still short of the word count; please make sure it is at least 250 words. Maybe add how he’s built, is he on the scrawny side or does he have more muscle tone?

Masa is still barely out of the underweight class for someone who is 5’11”. If this is what you intended then that’s fine, keep in mind he's going to be scrawny and not very strong.  Otherwise please up him to the target area of between 154 and 166lbs.

We’re going to ask that for his fighting style you remove the line “He tries to avoid most attacks, and blocks when necessary.” We ask this because that’s pretty much any fighting style since in any fight you’re going to try and avoid getting hit and block if you can. Overall, we’d also like you to maybe specify just what style he’s been trained it because as it is it reads as very vague and generic. You also have a contradiction since if he aims to be quick, the fact that he tries to confuse enemies doesn’t make any sense since that takes time to do.

There are some contradictions in his personality as well. Masa is described as shy around new people yet he also seeks out people he gets along with, which while not entirely contradictory seems like it would be difficult for someone who is shy around people they don’t know, it’s also a bit vague. Plus a shy demeanor being coupled with such a severe anger issue just seems weird, so maybe specify it a bit. Where does his anger come from? Is it strictly mental or is it a result of events from his past? If the latter is the case, then it should be in his history, since you’ve implied before he’s been bullied. Is this also the reason he has a strong sense of justice and retaliation? You need to explain these things otherwise it all sounds vague and confusing and doesn’t tie together well. How does his anger work, is he easy to piss off or does he have more specific triggers?

His Soul Perception needs to be toned waaay way down. Thirty meters is around ninety feet which is way past the limit to how far the top One Star currently on the site can be. The furthest he should be able to see it thirty feet at this point or around ten meters. You also need to describe his good sense of Soul Perception just a tad more, I.E. he can likely see most people’s souls at their base level and whatnot.

In his dislikes, why does he dislike Witches specifically when you’ve already listed evil as one? Is it just the general Shibusen thing, is he upset over the Valentine’s Day incident? Why?

Alright, time for the history again.

How the hell did a ten year old send another ten year old to the intensive care unit? That’s seems far too extreme, not to mention that would hardly count as a small fight as you describe it to be. A trip to the emergency room is doable, but the intensive care unit is a whole different level.

When did his grandfather start teaching him martial arts and sword skills?

Which sword skills did he show proficiency, did he excel at his training for the katana over the rapier, etc.

What martial arts did he learn? There was several different schools from all over the world.

Did he learn the acrobatics form the martial arts and if so, again, which martial arts?

He shouldn’t be able to feel that evil chill, that’s Soul Perception and a damn high level which he would certainly not have at fourteen, not to mention it is not a passive skill. He would be able to see the man’s soul, but not around him, and he wouldn’t feel anything from him because, again, that is highly advanced Soul Perception to be able to sense personality.

Where was he stabbed? You say he got stabbed in the chest but apparently it somehow didn’t cause any future problems, so he is either incredibly lucky or this is highly unlikely.

What happened after he lost consciousness?

He can wake up in a hospital but there is no reason for there to be a Shibusen doctor speaking with him, especially since he’s in Canada and Shibusen is based primarily in the USA.

Also, his family would definitely have been there. He was fourteen; the hospital would have called his family and contacted them he wouldn’t have just been in the hospital for a while alone.

How did he learn of his abilities and what he was capable of? This is extremely vague; you need to explain what happened. Did he ask his parents? Someone else in his family? What?

How did he get to Nevada from Canada?

How does he afford an apartment by himself when he could just live in the dorms?

He’s had to deal with some trouble, what trouble? Describe this.

His RP sample also needs a bit of work. It’s highly unlikely Masa at this point would be able to read his movements and then jump over him, that takes years of training in both physical and mental aspect. In addition, the whole situation of the RP sample seems very far-fetched. No one’s going to attack you in Death City, the people who live there know Shibusen is there and that there are Weapons and Meisters living in the city. They wouldn’t risk a fight with one of them. Also if Masa is supposedly physically weak like he is in his strengths and weaknesses, no twenty-something year old man is going down that easily up against a fifteen year old. In addition, the kind of psycho you describe is dangerous and not at all one Shibusen would approve of in one of their students. The reason for that is because it is literally a sign of madness.

Continuing on from that and backtracking just a bit, we really need to see the personality match the RP sample, and we don’t see that here yet. From how you’ve described him, his behavior doesn’t match at all, and the kind of anger you describe in his personality but show in the RP sample are two entirely different types and things that he should be receiving counseling for.

His fighting style is still a bit too much. If he knows three different types of martial arts, it’s likely he’s only got down the basics of those three since learning even one takes years and he’s only fifteen. Please specify which type of Karate he’s been studying as well since there are several different styles. Also Tai Chi is mentioned exactly none in his history so how does he know it?

He would not be able to sense the strength of a soul with his Soul Perception, nor would he sense presences or personalities. We are talking basics. He can see the souls in the chests of the people around him as well as Kishin Egg souls which would appear as red.

And to the history again.

Again, what sort of karate was he trained in?

Souls aren’t auras, they have a physically defined shape within someone’s chest, please change this. In addition, the color wouldn’t just be weird, it would be red, since that is the color of madness.

Sensing presences is still a too high level of soul perception for him, please change that bit with him and the doctor .

Why would his family be ashamed of Meisters or is that just Masa reading into things the wrong way? Also it would make more sense to say that the Meisters in his family were Sword Technicians rather than skilled in them since that skill wouldn’t mean jack all if they weren’t wielding a sword weapon.

Minimum wage in Canada is around 10.50 and it is illegal due to child labor laws for anyone under the age of sixteen to work without a permit, so it’s hard to believe he got a few jobs as a minor. To fly from Winnipeg to Death City would be around four hundred dollars. It would make more sense if his parents just flew him to Death City.

While we’re on his journey to Shibusen, let’s talk about how one doesn’t simply walk to Death City. It’s in the middle of the damned desert, he would die of exposure.

In his RP, I’d like to point out that a skull symbol in Death City is likely anything but a delinquent sign, they probably go to Shibusen too.

His soul wouldn’t have a scar since he already bears one from the attack outwardly on his body, plus he’s written to not care about. It also wouldn’t be flaming as there’s no reason for it to be.

I say again, he would have basic Soul Perception. He wouldn’t sense the purity since that’s a personality trait; he would see regular souls of people that would likely only vary by color and appearance. Kishin Eggs are a given, but he cannot sense Witch souls. Soul Protect hides them and has them appear as normal human souls and there’s no way he’s powerful enough to see through it, please change it.
