Danny sat there on a bench in the park, leaned back with the sun on his face and headphones turned up loud.
He was listening to one of his most recently favorite bands: Tool, singing one of his favorite songs called Jambi.
He usually listened to older stuff, everything from Bob Seger, Eagles, to heavier stuff like Ozzy and Metallica. Hell he even secretly had a few songs from some of the 90's era Disney movies on his Ipod that he'd listen to and hum whenever he felt particularly musical. Dan also kept a few Les Miserables songs on there too, a few from Grease as well. Though he'd never admit it he was a sucker for a good musical.
Yes beneath his tough exterior of metalhead rocker, Danny was a guy who had a number of musical tastes instead of just the ones he put out there to the public. Though he absolutely detested hip hop, country, rap and that sort of thing. It made him feel ill when he heard it on the radio, especially the bubblegum pop Hannah Montana bullcrap. It made him want to puke into a garbage can, so I guess he truly was a rocker at heart, with a few other interests that is. Though he'd yet to find someone who wouldn't laugh in his face at the very notion of someone like him enjoying things like that. He figured he'd have to wait to find a meister who was interested in a demon guitar for a weapon for that kind of big reveal.
Sighing, Dan let the song end before he switched to another, and continued to recline on the bench. Pondering if he'd ever find a meister in this huge school.
After awhile Danny stood up from the bench and stretched as one of the more upbeat songs on his Ipod began to thump in his ears.
He began to quietly sing along with the tune, slowly picking up the volume as he started to walk around the park, and as the song picked up its pace, he made sure to get louder, hoping to inject some life into this otherwise boring day.
"Just a small town girl
, Livin' in a lonely world
, She took the midnight train
, Goin' anywhere
. Just a city boy
, Born and raised in South Detroit
. He took the midnight train
, Goin' anywhere..."
Not caring or oblivious to the stares he was getting as his voice got louder with its melody of Journey's Don't Stop Believing, he dodged and weaved between people with surprising accuracy.
