Anderson; Nolan; Weapon
Name: Nolan Anderson
Nickname: No, No-No (Most people just call him Nolan)
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Race: Weapon
Position: Student
Class: One Star
Partner: Lucia Rowe
A Strong Body
Picture:
Appearance: Nolan has a round face, with a light sprinkle of freckles across his cheekbones and the bridge of his large nose. His mouth is wide, but his lips are somewhat thin. His eyes are big and round, amber brown and rimmed by short eyelashes and thick, brown eyebrows. One of the more distinctive features of Nolan is his thick, golden locks. His hair is medium-long, reaching about halfway down the back of his neck and with bangs covering his forehead completely. His skin is light in color and toned a healthy pink, and he seems to tan rather easily.
Nolan is a relatively tall guy, and although not quite six feet tall his stockiness makes him a noticeable presence in the room. While very muscular, he also is a little chubby around his face, neck, and behind. In general he is has a thick body; thick thighs, broad shoulders, large neck, chest, arms, hands, feet and waist. If it weren’t for his round face and delicate facial features, he probably would be quite a visibly intimidating figure, but instead he appears more like a big teddy bear rather than a bouncer.
Lacking in the fashion department, Nolan’s taste in clothing leaves something to be desired. He sticks to plaid, button-up shirts, usually in reds or greens. He enjoys wearing suspenders with his blue jeans, which are usually tucked into black or brown boots of some sort. He may wear a black beanie if he’s having a bad hair day, but he prefers not to have anything on his head if possible.
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 166 lbs
Fighting Style: Nolan has little to no combat experience. However, his muscular stature gives him the obvious advantage of strength. He can lift and toss heavy objects, as well as throw powerful punches and kicks. He’s also good at throwing his weight around (he can build up considerable momentum.) As a result of his lack of combat experience, Nolan can’t do much more than basic brawling. Plus he isn’t the fastest person in the world, so he has a hard time dodging attacks and relies on his endurance for defensive purposes instead.
Personality: One of the kindest souls a person could know, Nolan is an extremely affectionate individual. He’s the type of guy that will hug a friend breathless in public with no reason other than simply ‘cause . He goes out of his way to be compassionate, even with strangers, and he holds true to his moral virtues at all times (be kind unto thy neighbor, treat others how you would want to be treated, etc.) A good listener and usually one to give at least decent advice, he’s known to be the go-to person for venting your social problems to. He often takes on the “big brother” role when among a large group of friends.
As far as how he acts, Nolan is rather silly. He can find humor in just about any situation, although sometimes the situations are less than appropriate. For example: in the midst of an intense battle, Nolan might make a good-humored joke about his opponent or the situation in general. He’s very rarely completely serious, preferring to be light-hearted and optimistic. This quality of his can be both refreshing and tiresome, depending on one’s point of view. He also loves to laugh, and his trademark laugh is thunderously deep and contagious. Of those that that know him, few have not seen him smiling his wide, brilliant grin at some point. If something is troubling Nolan, or if he is not in the best of moods, he would more likely keep his sorrows tucked away and hidden beneath a fake smile then alert anyone to how he was actually feeling.
Although lighthearted and silly, he is far from lazy. Nolan works his hardest and tries to be the best that he can be; however, he is not the brightest student and often struggles with several academic subjects. He doesn’t let his grades affect his good mood, though, but instead uses them as inspiration to work even harder than usual. He does, unfortunately, have a habit of overworking himself to the point of exhaustion.
Nolan’s large heart carries over to romances as well. He is respectful as usual, but will pursue a crush unless rejected by the person of interest. In a relationship, he is known to coddle and spoil his partner with gifts, favors, and of course tons of love. Sometimes he may be a little clingy and overprotective; therefore it is usually a bad idea for him to be partnered up with his love interest, as he will risk the mission to protect them from harm. Nolan identifies as bisexual with a preference for men, and is completely open about his sexuality.

Inside the Soul
Weapon form: In his Weapon Form, Nolan takes the form of a lumberjack’s hatchet. It is a single-handed striking weapon, traditionally used as a tool for splitting wood. One side of the axe is a sharp blade, while the other side is a hammer head. His hatchet form isn’t anything flashy or fancy, the head and some of the handle being silver steel while the grip of the handle is burgundy with four white stripes. It is about 1'04" tall from the bottom of the handle to the top of the head, and the head is seven inches across from the blade's edge (four inches wide) to the hammer's face (two inches thick.)
Partial Form: Nolan’s partial form involves his right hand turning into the head of the hatchet. The outside of his hand becomes the blade while the inside the hammer head. Thus, a karate chop or outwards arm swing would cut, while an inwards swing would pummel. Simply because of how human bodies work, it’s much more difficult for Nolan to land a hit with the hammer side of the head than the blade portion.

Hobbies: Nolan is a simple guy, enjoying most things and disliking few. However, there are a few things that he enjoys the most during his free time. Hobbies of his include playing the acoustic guitar and songwriting (although he's most definitely not a professional singer), wandering the town to converse with the townsfolk and immerse himself in the culture, stargazing at night (sometimes with a telescope), and nature watching. When he does sing, his voice is a soft baritone that has a sort of comforting tone to it; it's a nice voice, but not quite good enough for Nolan to make a living off of it. When he wanders the town, he sometimes will get himself lost on purpose so he can force himself on new adventures. Stargazing has always been a joy of his, as he could lie outside on a rooftop for hours just watching the stars gleam and shine in the sky. He enjoys watching nature in a similar fashion, although he will often approach wild animals and attempt to befriend them (sometimes he is successful, but more often he is not.)
Likes: In no particular order, 1) Live Music, 2) Hugging/Cuddling, 3) Staying Healthy (Eating well, exercising regularly, etc.), 4) Comedy, 5) Hard work and determination
Dislikes: In no particular order, 1) Sadness, 2) Tragedies (movies and stories), 3) People who are constantly serious, 4) Sloppy/Lazy People, 5) Brussels Sprouts and Steamed Cabbage
Aspirations: Nolan's ambitions are nothing radical or strange, but they're still admirable. He wishes to perfect his weapon form at Shibusen, most likely a direct result of his desire to constantly improve on himself. Once he has graduated, after a few years of professional kishin egg and witch hunting he hopes to one day be married to a wonderful husband or wife and raise a family back home in Canada. Ideally he would inherit his father's lumberjack business, which is something he knows he's good at and would provide a steady income for his future family.
History: Born on February 11th in the west of the island of Montreal, Nolan was a chubby bundle of giggling delight. His father was overjoyed to have had a baby boy, planning to raise his son to love the lumberjack businesses like his own father did and his grandfather has done before. Such a tradition was not uncommon in the business.
Most of Nolan’s life was spent unaware of his demon weapon capabilities. He grew up going to school like most other kids, but was also taken out on logging trips with his father. He was immersed in the culture of celebrated strength, masculinity, confrontation with danger, and resistance to modernization, and after some time he grew to love the business as well. At home, his mother taught him important lessons of compassion and patience, those that would stick with Nolan for quite some time and eventually form his character. Around the age of sixteen, Nolan was demonstrating significant promise with his work, much to his parents’ delight. It was around that time that he discovered his abilities by accidentally performing a partial transformation, his hand forming into the head of a hatchet. Perplexed, his family turned to a genealogist for answers.
It turned out that the Anderson family had Scandinavian ancestors, those of which were not only some of the first loggers but also demon weapons by blood. The gene necessary for becoming a demon weapon had grown dormant as it was passed down through the generations, but for some unknown reason it had awoken in Nolan. It took some time to get used to this new information; Nolan was now the complete center of attention at school, and a day didn’t go by without someone asking him to partial transform or if he was planning to attend Shibusen in America, to which he would politely decline and inform them that he had no plans of leaving Canada anytime soon.
What Nolan did do, however, was use his abilities in the workplace. He became an incredibly efficient logger, not requiring nearly as many tools as before and simply chopping wood with his hatchet hand. His father couldn’t have been prouder; his mother, on the other hand, was worried that her son wasn’t using his full potential. This became apparent when two years down the road, when attempting to partial transform on the job Nolan ended up performing a full transformation into his weapon form, clattering to the ground as a hatchet. Intrigued by this, he and his family did some research on Shibusen and learned about witches, meisters, kishin eggs and death scythes. It was all a little much to take in, but Nolan was always one for adventures and growing stronger, so after several talks with his parents they decided that it would be in his best interest to enroll in Shibusen.

Nolan raced out of the Death City airport, suitcase rolling on the ground behind him and multiple bags slung over his shoulders and across his body. The flight had been something new, the people were all new; everything here was just completely new. He was practically bursting with excitement, his amber eyes gleaming and grin wide and bright. A few people kept their distance from him, a little put off by his inexplicable energy, but more people than not found themselves beaming right back at him. His good mood was rather contagious.
He scrambled in his pocket to pull out his telephone, dialing his mother's number.
"Mom? Hi, yeah I made it...no I'm not at the school yet, just left the 'port...I will, Mom, I promise, love you too. Tell Dad the same." Once he had hung up and after apologizing from nearly tripping over somebody's dog, the first thing Nolan did was stop by a little café, intent on tasting some of the native foods. It was interesting, not the usual palate he was used to, but it wasn’t bad at all. He thanked the owner of the café enthusiastically, shaking their hand with a firm grip before leaving the café with the purpose of finding Shibusen. A couple hours later of exploring and Nolan found himself standing at the foot of the monumental staircase leading to the school.
“Criss…” He exclaimed in Canadian-French, eyes wide at the challenge set before him. Good thing he was used to intense physical activity, otherwise he would be dying by the time he was only halfway there. “Okie-dokie, then! Let’s get this show on the road, eh?” With that, he began his ascent to the school, eyes burning with determination. He couldn’t wait to see what was in store for him in this strange place.
