A Strong Body

Appearance:
Irene stands just a little over five feet and eight inches, a fairly tall height for a woman. While the height may hold an intimidating factor to some, adding in the normal facial features of the girl may only scare them off more. Blank expressions normally, maybe a scowl, or intense concentration, her bright blue eyes constantly open to watch what's happening around her, and small lightly pinked lips drawn tightly together. Her skin is a very light tone, depending on the light it can come off as a pure white color, or just a faint shade of pink flesh. Her hair could be considered a bit strange, but it's a pride and joy for her. A strawberry blonde sort of color, natural throughout, mostly cut into shaggy long locks that reach barely past her chin. All cut in this similar sort of fashion except for a chunk of hair over her right ear. For one reason or another, Irene kept a section of her hair longer than the rest. The longer hair usually waves slightly, instead of the straight shaggy look. One style very different from the other, yet both on her one head.
As a whole, Irene is a toned young woman. Her muscles are nowhere near bulging, but can obviously be seen when she moves that the girl holds a good bit of power behind that flesh. A thin neck that could be said to define the delicateness of a woman connects to strong shoulders. Her arms are fairly muscular, definition of the muscle beneath trailing down her arms up until her wrists where it fades away into the bones and pale flesh of the girl. Large hands, more for the fact that her fingers are long, with short fingernails that are neatly kept. Below her shoulders is the bust of a woman, of about average size for her figure, sitting just atop a tight and defined abdomen. Hips that curve out just a bit to define her figure, her legs take on the same muscular pattern as her arms. There and seen, but not overly bulging from her skin.
As a style, Irene is fairly simple. When not in combat, she sticks to denim on her bottom half, whether it's a pair of tight jeans or shorts. Depending on the weather, she switches between layered tanktops and sleeveless shirts, or a zip-up sweater type deal. When clothing doesn't cover her arms, Irene wears two leather bands around her upper arm. One could be describe as decorative and pretty, the other just a plain strap and buckle. On her feet she normally wears boots. Varying colors and lengths, but boots seem to be a favorite of hers.
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 136 lbs
Fighting Style:
Irene is an in-your-face fighter. She doesn't back down, doesn't let up, doesn't do long range. The girl wants to be right in there, reacting to what's being done, using her mind and body to overcome her opponent. Her weapon form is much the same. Though a pole weapon has a tiny bit longer range than Irene prefers, it's still basically a close range weapon. She's right there, in the middle of her challenge. The shaft of her form makes a nice blunt weapon. Knocking them out instead of slashing? A metal pole can do that nicely. The blades on the one end are extremely sharp, piercing through flesh with no problem. The straight pointy end is great for poking dead things!
Personality:
On the outside, Irene has a very tough exterior. A hard heart, not letting things get to her. The woman likes to act as a stone, as if nothing will ever change her again. It is a form of protection in her eyes, a way to keep people at a distance and to keep herself distanced from them. If she looks like she doesn’t care, maybe she won’t. With this toughness to her, she tends to remain serious at almost all times. Her cracking a faint smile is an accomplishment. It’s not exactly that she isn’t happy, she just likes her mind to stay in a constant level state. She stays closed off from those around her. Her hard heart and distance… It’s not that she doesn’t enjoy people, or that she doesn’t want friends. She doesn’t wish to lose them. Therefore… what is never had can not be lost.
What many people do not realize is that her exterior is simply that, the outside. Her inner mind works constantly to try to build herself and find her confidence again. The young woman is often very unsure of her decisions and actions. Just because she thought it through, just because it makes sense…. Doesn’t mean it won’t backfire. What if she missed one thing? What if she is misinterpreting? As much as she may look like she is going for it with full force, the girl is often doubtful. Weaker in mind than appearance. A great part of her really is an act.
In how she acts, how she fights, how she thinks…. Irene likes to be focused. At all times she wants her goal in sight, her thoughts to be in one line. Not many can pull her off track, the girl’s mind is as organized as it can possibly be. Reasons for actions, thought processes, vocabulary presented, body language… The girl views and analyzes. An organized focus of the world. And Irene is determined to keep everything observed. Not only to pay attention at all times, but to stick to anything. The girl does not give up on what she puts her mind to. Not only is she focused on her goal, but she never gives up that goal. Her mind is set and her actions follow through. Backing down is a weakness. So… in order to accomplish her goals, she works hard. Focused on what she wants, determined to get it, and able to work hard enough to make it possible. She will put in whatever amount of effort is needed to do what she wants or what is expected.
In order to keep all of these thoughts in place, to organize everything she sees , and to analyze what the needs to do to accomplish her goals, Irene needs to be at least halfway intelligent. Most everything she does and says is carefully calculated before being put into action. And with this practice in using her mind, the process has become extremely quick. The girl has the ability to focus her thoughts and to act them out quickly.
She is not a haphazard child on the run though. Irene has a sense of duty for what is expected of her. Whether it is expected of herself or from a power higher than her, Irene is seen as responsible. The goals set in her mind are sometimes given from others, but that does not lessen her determination and effort. What she says she will do, she will. She is able to be counted on. However, her obedience is not given readily. She is only faithful to those who earn it. This can be done in a variety of ways, proving themselves to her or to the world. Different things catch her eye. But she does not generally blindly follow someone’s orders, unless they gain her something greater than she could lose.
Inside the Soul
Weapon form:
When in weapon form, Irene takes the form of a Corseque. A pole weapon. The shaft is about two meters long, a steel pole that is covered with light colored alloys in order to create a white color. A long spike is attached to one end of the shaft, the spike stronger than the pole and almost black in color. What mostly defines a Corseque different from another spear is that it also has two other blades, stronger and thicker than the spike, that portrude from both sides of the straight spike. Irene takes a sort of curved blade, curving back and away from the spike, using the sharp edges of the curve blade to be used as a hook and expose the razor on the other side.
Partial Form:
Irene does use a partial weapon form from time to time. Her weapon form coming out in her knuckles. She has the ability to use either hand, but only one at a time. Switching requires concentration on her part, normally not an issue but in fast paced situations can become more tricky. Her hand is confined to a fist when this occurs, not able to use her hand in any other way. Two things may happen.
~Across her top knuckles she has blades. These curved blades are a representation of the two curved blades on the edge of the pole weapon. A strong, dark metal with a sharp blade protruding outwards.
~Across the top knuckles a straight strip of metal appears. The straight metal is blunt and is a small representation of the shaft of the corseque. A steel strip of metal covered in white colored alloys.
Abilities: n/a
Resonances: -Koningslied- Character Name(s): Levi Kastein and Irene Dixon
Name: Koningslied Type: Soul Resonance Class: Resonance Appearance: Responding to Levi’s will Irene’s weapon form shifts to bring out greater effectiveness. The overall length of the weapon decreases to about 5’5” with about 2’5” being the main spike. Speaking of the spike it becomes broader and more akin to a blade. Changing with the spike the flukes extend at the base and straighten but do not elongate. The flukes keep their thickness but develop a very sharp edge and point to form a guard for the main spike. In total the spikes form a crown shape all together. As for color the whole weapon becomes a clean metallic silver that faintly glows. The one spot of color being a light red gem in the center of the crown.
Description: With their resonance Irene takes a form that better allows Levi to draw out his power. Becoming shorter for closer combat and more bladelike for more familiarity. Aside from the bright coloration it maintains a rather simple design that is focused on combat.
The resonance glows faintly not from an external light source but an internal one. While resonating Irene creates a raw connection to Levi’s soul and his wavelength creates the slight illumination. As a result of this anything that touches Irene also comes into contact with Levi’s soul and receives a constant flow of his wavelength until no longer in contact. In return any attacks that harm the soul that hit Irene go straight to Levi while they resonate.
Positives: –Better for close fighting -Carries a powerful soul attack -Can be used twice per thread -Everything that touches Irene is subject to the wavelength -Levi’s soul purge is enhanced during the resonance
Negatives: –Takes 9 post each to recharge between uses/ Resonance last 8 post each (total 16) -Levi can no longer focus his soul purges for 5 post -Makes Levi very sensitive to soul attacks through the resonance -Lowers attack range -Can’t use the flukes as hooks |
Out of your Mind
Strengths:
Strength. Endurance. Intelligence.
The girl is tough. Though everyone may not think she looks it, a lot of power is held within her frame. She can pack a punch and take a punch. Irene is able to inflict pain fairly easily, a strong body at her disposal. With the strength of the body, it's able to take more damage than those that are weaker. A strong body can just do more, take more.
Irene can also be defined as a thinker. Throughout battle she is constantly trying to find the upper hand. Whether it's a weak spot on the opponent, a part of the environment she can manipulate in her favor, or a few words that can cause distraction. She weighs her options and takes in what she sees, then uses what she knows.
Weaknesses:
Slow Movement. Slow Reflexes. Psychologically Weak. Inability to Stop. No Long Range Abilities.
The downside to her being challenge oriented and in the opponent's face is that she barely backs down. Though she's smart, a more primal instinct takes over when fighting. She's too determined to back off. Too worried about proving herself. If she gave up, where would that put her? It's more of a win or die mentality, not the healthiest thing for a fighter. " You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em”.
The girl doesn't back down, and she's quick in the mind, but she's a bit slow when it comes to movement. Her strength can't hold off every attack, and while she can think of a good reaction, her movements just do not keep up with her mind. A good punch is nice, but if it can't reach its target it can cause frustration. Poor reaction weakens her while her reflexes suffer as well. Once again, nothing to do with her mind being able to keep up. The woman’s body movements is just not quick. Keeping up with her opponents is a struggle.
Irene is also very uncomfortable with ranged fighting. Without speed she can’t get in, hit, and get out. With her weapon form needing to be fairly close, she is basically useless once she gets out of immediate range of an opponent.

History:
The Dixon's are a musical family. Something that goes back through their lineage, mother and father's side. Irene's mother, Ira, is a wonderful pianist, teaching at a university so other pianists that wish to go on to performing can have a shot. Her father, Peter, is an accomplished violinist. He travels all over, taking jobs with orchestras all around the globe, a fabulous soloist. The pair had met in college. Both extremely gifted individuals, musically talented and sharing goals of greater things. They were inseparable, traveling together after school, performing and watching the other perform. They loved life, their music, and their instruments.
A few years into their partnership, Ira decided she wanted to add another life into the mix. Not wanting to hold Peter back, they made an agreement. Ira would settle down in a residence and become a university teacher to raise their child. Peter would take on less performances to be home more. They found it a great idea. Compromising, still holding onto old dreams, yet creating new ones. Irene was born. Since she was born, she was completely immersed in music. Having settled down in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, opportunities were constantly around. Orchestras, wind bands, violin players, piano lessons... It was all around her, she knew music in and out. The history, instruments, genres, composers, conductors.... All of it seemed like standard knowledge.
As she grew, the girl found out what her favorite instrument was. The trumpet. Vastly different from the string or keyboard that her parents played, but she loved it all the same. She took lessons from a friend of her parent's, she competed, and she practiced. But with a musicians life comes great burdens. As a musician, there is constant competition, constant pressure, constant need to be better, constant criticism. Every time Irene accomplished something, somehow it wasn't good enough. Her parents didn't mean it, they only wanted her to be better. But for a young girl, it was totally damaging. As musicians usually learn, she had to be tough. Constantly being torn apart, being told how she wasn't good enough in this area and needed to do this... It grated at her. Through these years, she developed her insecurities, her inferiority complex. At first it was just trumpet players, but as she went through school it happened with grades and kids as well... She just wasn't as good. Irene never let it on though. In the music world, if she didn't look confident then she wouldn't get anywhere. She was determined to make something of herself, even if she wasn't sure she was good enough.
Age thirteen. Irene snaps. It wasn't anywhere extremely important. She was at home, rehearsing the Turrin Intrada for an upcoming competition with her mother. In the middle of the piece, Irene just stopped. She pulled the instrument slowly from her lips, a blank stare clouding her eyes. That next instant, she threw the instrument. Not at her mother, not at the woman’s beloved piano, just away. She walked for the door then, not offering a word to her mother, she was just leaving. A wide-eyed Ira stared on, her child exiting the room. But not before Irene punched the wall right beside the door. It wasn't the punch so much that worried Ira, it was the fact that a deep gash was left in the wall, along with a bit of blood.
Upon closer examination, it was found that the gash came from a blade that had somehow developed on Irene's hand. The young girl was confused, that much was for sure, but she didn't really freak out over the ordeal. Calls were made, her parents completely confused about what happened. Eventually the truth came out, something that Ira barely remembered from her past. The stories of Shibusen that she often heard from her grandmother. She was a weapon, the blood was carried through her family. Ira hadn't gone through any changes like that, and as far as she remembered her mother never spoke of it... They were musicians, that's what they knew. But Peter and Ira also knew that Irene would need help. They couldn't assist her, they knew nothing. Those old stories of Shibusen kept coming to the forefront though. So... they looked into it.
Within a few months, that's where Irene was. Almost fourteen now, she was being moved into the dorms of a new school. She didn't pack much, just what she needed. Her parents forced her to take her trumpet, an instrument she decided she didn't need. Though abandoning music, Irene was still a happy young girl. There was so much to look forward to! A new school, music not being shoved down her throat by her parents, a fresh start, people in the same boat as her. Maybe she could measure up here.
And for the most part, Irene succeeded. It was a few months into school that she found a partner. She ended up being one of her best friends. Melissa Hartland. A small girl with a fiesty personality. The two were very different, but they had great fun together. They trained and worked hard, went through those little teenage girl times of having crushes on boys in the academy, working through their drama, dealing with heartbreak when the boy would choose someone else. All those little normal things of teen girl life! They enjoyed it. They loved the school and loved their partnership.
Irene never drew back to music. She focused more on her weapon form, how to control herself and how to resonate with her meister. They grew together, friends and partners. They took on a few missions, gathered a few souls here and there, and then the unthinkable happened.... Melissa was gone. Out one night visiting with another friend, Irene didn't go because she wasn't feeling too well. Melissa just never came back. At first Irene just figured it was an overnight stay. Then she wasn't in school. Never came back for her things. Never contacted her.
Her seventeenth birthday was devastating. Melissa had been gone for two months and no trace of her had been found. Lord Death was doing his best, other teams were out... but nothing. Absolutely nothing. Irene only closed off further from this. No music. No letting people in. Her heart became hard.
A year has passed since that awful birthday, Irene didn't even bother to celebrate her 18th, even though her parents sent her a gift. She never opened it, not quite sure if she wanted to see what the musicians gave her. The weapon has been focusing a lot on her studies over the year. How to better herself, how to work better, how others think, what she should expect in battle. Like the others, she gave up on Melissa. She wasn't coming back. Irene wanted to be stronger. She trained her body. Many hours lifting, punching bags, running, learning new styles from other students in the school. She gave up any souls she had gained as well, giving them to Lord Death and refusing them. She didn't want to remember Melissa. It was better for her.
That's what she does now. Trains hard. Words hard. Focuses. It's not that she's not nice. She has friends. She's just... not who she used to be. Trust in people is gone.
Extra Notes: Her mind is somewhat unstable. Her thoughts can get jumbled and sloppy if someone can pick at the wrong nerve, or even a distraction such as makeouts could sidetrack her mind.
She is also a transfer, though all but like 20 points were used to get her two different partial forms.

It was another one of those days. Bright and sunny, birds singing... It just made Irene want to go back to bed. All this joy of the day was almost sickening. And what was worse yet... the room under her was blaring music. WHY!? It wasn't even nine on a Saturday morning and the kids were ALREADY trying to terrorize her? She just didn't have the nerves today... It was too early and she was thinking too much.
But, regardless, she decided to get out of bed. There was no reason to hang around and torture herself with thoughts and the sound of music. Rushing through her early morning routine, the young woman wanted herself to be presentable at least when going out into public. Slipping on denim shorts, a black tank top, a white, sleeveless activity jacket, and short black boots. It was simple, easy to get together, and she was basically done. Brushing her teeth and combing her hair quick, the girl was out of her dorm in about fifteen minutes.
Apple in hand, Irene started down the street. Tossing the apple up and letting it fall back down into her right hand, she repeated this process as she walked down the street. Where was she going? She truthfully had no idea. Yet. Pausing her tossing of the apple for a quick moment, she gripped the fruit and took a large, satisfying bite out of it. Need strength to keep the body running! A faint smile crossed the girl's face, only noticeable if someone was really paying attention. It should be a good day, the brightness made vision clear and the sun was nice to work in.
Slowly she bit at her apple, still making her way through the streets of death city. Her eyes traveled over the happenings, people walking about, kids playing in the street, stores opened and ready for customers. A lot of people were up and about, a good Saturday morning.
Well... Good until she heard that awful noise. Music was one thing. It was a sound that was stantable, she just didn't want to hear it... But bagpipes? SERIOUSLY? The instrument grated her nerves. How could anyone think that was real music? It made her just want to bash her head into a wall until she gave herself a concussion.
So, naturally, she had to find where this was coming from. Not out of respect, but so she could destroy the player. It was just plain annoying! Her face blank with a bit of anger in her eyes, Irene gripped the apple in her right hand. Quickly she walked through the streets, trying to find the source of the noise. Irene was a woman on a mission, and no one would stop her.
FINALLY! She found it. It was coming from within a building. A few floors up, she could hear the noise. A window was open. One single window. That's why she could hear it so clearly! That idiot... Tossing the apple once more in her right hand, she caught it. Pausing only a moment, she then decided what she would do. Pulling her arm back just a bit, she flung her hand and the apple forward in the next instant. The apple soared through the window and a loud thump was heard. Someone hollered and then cursing was heard. It wasn't too long before someone came to the window, still cursing and shouting.
But by that time, Irene was already walking away. Not running, not caring. The 'music' had stopped. That's what she wanted and needed. Hopefully she had broken the devil instrument. Then she'd never hear that again... not from there.
