Name: Cyrus Own
Class: One Star
Partner: Lavender Pratchett
A Strong Body
Appearance: As far as appearance goes Cyrus’s body is of average height for his age and ever so slightly heavier than average. This additional weight is made of muscle that can be noticeably seen depending on his choice of clothing. Cyrus’s hair is something he tends to mess around with. Currently he has it messily spiked with most of it dyed blond. This leaves the remaining bottom part of his hair his natural black. Cyrus has blue eyes and wears a pair of red glasses to help with his nearsightedness. On his back and his upper right arm a few small scars and marks can be seen from minor wounds he received while training.
Clothing is rather simple as far as Cyrus is concerned. If it is for school he wears one of the provided sets of uniforms complete with skull pins and tie. For more casual events he tends to wear either a plain dark t-shirt or a dark tank top and a set of camo pants leading to boots. For missions he will stick with his casual clothing and make adjustments unless otherwise instructed. Mostly this consist of some form of jacket for cold or less tolerable weather.
Fighting Style: Cyrus has been trained in MCMAP, which is the marine corps martial arts program, to the green belt level. He has learned this much from his dad but has been halted from advancing further. Even so he has a preference for using strong kicks and counters instead of punches or holds. He would like to end fights quickly and with as little effort as needed.
Personality: Upon meeting Cyrus one would see a polite young man who tends not to draw too much attention to himself, and you would be right. Cyrus doesn’t try to be the center of attention or even gather much for himself. He is more than content minding his business off in a corner while someone else captivated others. This doesn’t mean he is introverted around people, quite the opposite. Cyrus will gladly walk up and talk to someone if he wants to and do what he has to if it involves others. More the assistant than the main character.
Despite his lack of assertion Cyrus does tend to enjoy being in the leader role. If not he would prefer to be able to help the leader as a second. Through his experiences he believes that he may have insightful information to offer and wants to help if he can. The issue is that he tends to think this even if he is not correct and may get bothersome with thinking his idea is better when he is in fact wrong. He only really stops trying to be the leader if someone of significant authority is the actual one in charge. Regardless of his position he will protect those that are his comrades before thinking about himself.
While he is one to follow rules and those in charge he will challenge authority if he does not feel they are a worthy leader. If they prove it to him he will stop immediately and listen to them. Not one to use violence he will not escalate a confrontation to blows unless the other attacks him first or proposes a challenge, in which case he will gladly accept. Confident in his own abilities he doesn’t worry about losing fights with others, be they human or kishin. After a fight if he feels the other was good he will gladly befriend them in order to prevent further conflict from arising.
Inside the Soul
Abilities: –Soul perception- is the talent that Cyrus possesses. He must activate it manually and he can only sense the location of souls within 30 feet. To see if a soul is a kishin or not he must be wearing his glasses.
-Flexible wavelength- Cyrus’s wavelength is rather flexible and this allows him to match with most anybody.
Out of your Mind
Strengths: Fighting Experience, physically fit, strategic

Aspirations: Aside from the usual goals of Shibusen students he wants to find out what he is best at doing.
History: Born on May 25th in Blackpool, England Cyrus was the second child of the Owen family. He grew up living with his mother and older brother who was 4 years older than him. His father would visit sparingly as he was serving in the American military. Things fell into a pattern of them living normally with their mother with visits of their father every so often. Neither child found this odd and they grew up normally with it. As they grew their father began to stay longer with visits and eventually got to the point where he was staying with them for a month each time.
With this new situation and at their request he began to teach them how to fight in the style he had been trained in. Starting at a young age they grew and practiced as much as they could. His brother being older progressed faster and Cyrus had to strive to keep up with him. This kept them both motivated enough to learn how to fight. Aside from the military fighting training they grew up normal and nothing was out of the ordinary for them. They both attended a regular school and eventually Cyrus’s brother began to attend university. Cyrus planned to do the same but had a change of mind before he began.
One day he was training with his brother as his father observed them. Both had taken a preference in their fighting styles and they enjoyed thinking of their own way of progressing past the other. In this particular sparring match Cyrus unknowingly activated his soul perception. While focusing on his brother he was surprised when he noticed a blue soul appear visible on his chest. He asked his father but he had never experienced such a thing before. His mother on the other hand knew exactly what was going on. It seemed Cyrus had inherited his hair color as well as the potential to be a meister from his mother. She began to help him learn about his abilities until he could at least activate it at will and distinguish a person’s soul. After learning this he decided to attend Shibusen and his parents were more than happy to allow him. He would be able to fight like his father while helping to save people. Plus he wanted to see America for himself. With a final celebration and gifts Cyrus headed off to Death City, Nevada.

-He has a bullet-proof vest that he wears on missions
-Without his glasses he can only see an arm’s length in front of him.
-He has a very noticeable accent
-Everyday he wakes up between 6-7 am to train
Behind the strings

Face Claim: Medaka Box, Hitoyoshi Zenkichi, Cyrus Owen
RP Sample: The first thing he noticed was probably what everyone first noticed upon arriving in Death City, that it was exceptionally hot. The dry air did nothing to help and made the location all the worse for new arrivals. A thin sheen of sweat formed on his brow and he wiped it away with his free hand. In his other hand were the few bags he had packed to take with him. Luckily for him his father was going to be arriving soon and delivering the rest of his items that were too difficult to carry. Taking what he could Cyrus began the trek to Shibusen.
Just walking was proving to be its own form of challenge for him. The weight he had to lug was doing nothing to lighten the effect of the heat. Plus there was the ridiculous laughing sun making things even hard to see. Sighing he continued on his walk as he looked for his destination. After what was probably an hour he came to a stop. Covering his face with a hand he looked up at the giant staircase that stood before him. Even farther up was the building that was the school he would be attending. Letting out a whistle to signify that he was impressed he heard a few laughs behind him. He must look like quite the new lad what with his reaction and the bags he was holding.
Turning he continued to walk around the stairs until he saw what he was looking for, the boys dorm. The walk to even reach this point had proved to be a challenge for him. The heat and the arid weather was just so much to deal with. Doing this everyday would certainly be a sizable amount of work. Cyrus couldn’t help but smile at the thought. It was going to be a challenge but it would be a fun one! Entering the dorms he found the superintendent and smiled at them.
”Ello sir, I’m new here. Name’s Cyrus now can you help me find where my room is?”
