Losnedahl; Espen; Weapon
Name: Espen Vivian Losnedahl II
Nickname: Espen is as much as you’re going to get.
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Race: Weapon
Position: Student
Class: One Star
A Strong Body
Picture:
Appearance: The Losnedahl children all look rather similar, and Espen is no different. Like his other siblings, he has fine, peachy skin. His hair is very fine, meaning it’s easily tangled unless brushed frequently. His eyes are rather big, broadcasting his current emotion clearly to the world. Espen’s build is also rather slender, having little muscle. He isn’t very tall either, causing Espen to look a tad younger than he actually is. His posture is excellent, due to being from such an uptight household.
Espen’s hair is lighter than his skin, being a light silver. When let down it reaches a bit past his shoulders. Espen normally keeps it together with a dark blue bow, tying it into a messy ponytail. His eyes are a vibrant teal.
Espen wears almost all blue, as it’s his favorite colour. He commonly wears navy blue dress pants tucked in white lace-up boots. A long, blue coat is always left unbuttoned, revealing the button-up dress shirt underneath. At the collar of this shirt is a ribbon the same dark blue as the ribbon in his hair and his pants, and at the centre of that ribbon is a brilliant teal emerald that is almost the exact same colour as his eyes.
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 127 lbs
Fighting Style: Espen really has no earthly idea on how to fight. He’s never needed to, and fighting with his siblings was always frowned upon. Because of this, Espen will try to avoid confrontation. Being a weapon, this shouldn’t be too hard as most fighting can be left to the meister.
However, if someone picks a fight with Espen that is unavoidable, Espen will rely on either outsmarting the enemy or outlasting them. He’ll attempt to avoid most of the enemy’s attacks and only attack people when they are vulnerable. However, due to his poor eyesight Espen is sometimes very bad at judging distances, meaning he’ll sometimes miscalculate his dodging.
Personality: Espen is a very lighthearted person. He generally doesn’t let things get to him, and tries to make sure others carry this mentality too. If they don’t, he’ll try his best to cheer them up. Of course, Espen isn’t actually the best at humour as hard as he tries. Espen makes jokes to try to lighten the mood, though they’re generally quite awful and generally make things worse.
Curiosity killed the cat, not that Espen particularly cares. He is a very curious person since he’s very subjectable to boredom. If he isn’t doing anything at any given time, the boy will try to find something to do. Anything that seems a bit off deserves to be explored, in Espen’s mind. He’s a bit naive, so even if something is obviously dangerous he’ll still probably check it out.
Speaking of that niavity, Espen believes almost anything he is told. He’s not a complete idiot, of course. If someone tells Espen something that contradicts information he already believes in he probably won’t readily accept it. This of course does not include people who Espen trusts greatly. Because of how easily he accepts new information, Espen is very superstitious.
Espen is a generally very nice person. He enjoys making new friends, and will go out of his way to make them. If someone doesn’t want to be his friend, he’ll simply try harder to make them change their mind! He’ll sometimes pretend to be a bit more serious or formal if that’ll make someone like him a bit more. Some might find him a bit annoying with how relentless he can be.
Lastly, Espen is somewhat eccentric. His methods for going about things may strike people as odd. If Espen has seen someone he looks up to doing something in a particular way, he’ll attempt to mimic them. If not? Espen will simply make things up as he goes along. He does that a lot.
Inside the Soul
Weapon form: Sketch
Espen’s weapon form is that of an atgeir, a viking age scandinavian weapon. As far as polearms go, it’s not the most extravagant weapon. A simple steel pole makes up the bulk of the weapon. In length the pole is an even 5’, and in width the radius is 2.3”. On one end of the pole is a silver blade, and on the other is a silver point that can be used for jabbing the enemy should the meister pick it up the wrong way hastily. The blade extends a bit past the pole - as does the pointed end, adding an additional 2” to the atgeir. The blade itself is 7”, and the pointed end is 1”.
In total, the atgeir ends up being 5’2”.
Describing the blade of his weapon form is something Espen is not very good at. It’s long and fine, being not much more than a piece of silver that hooks over, making it a bit easier to unarm an opponent. The connector to the pole is also pointed on the end. A dark blue bow is tied at the centre of the pole, though it has no apparent purpose.
Partial Form: When in partial weapon form, Espen’s right hand turns into the silver blade of the atgeir. However, the bladed part faces him instead of the foe when in a defensive position. The additional point normally found on the other side is missing, meaning the part that would face the foe is entirely blunt. It hooks around just like the normal weapon form does.
Resonances: None yet
Out of your Mind
Strengths: High Stamina Strategic Quick Reflexes
Weaknesses: Physically Weak Lack of Combat Skills Poor Eyesight
Hobbies: There are a plethora of activities Espen enjoys. Due to having so much free time as a child, he picked up quite a few hobbies. For starters, he quite enjoys practising and learning new languages, though he only speaks English, Norwegian, and Italian fluently enough to hold a conversation. Espen also enjoys learning how to play new instruments, though he has only learned how to play the accordian well enough to feel confident playing for anyone.
As for hobbies that are easier to do on a regular basis, Espen quite enjoys reading, writing, and on occasion drawing. He’s open to trying anything else too.
Likes: Excitement Sweets Cute things Expensive things The colour blue Sloppy Makeouts
Dislikes: Boredom Grumps Loneliness Repetition
Aspirations: Espen simply does what he’s told. He doesn’t think about the future very much, and therefore hasn’t really thought about what he wants from his future either. For now, Espen just hopes to make many friends at Shibusen.
History: On the outskirts of the city of Brekstad is a large house that is home to the Losnedahl household. Espen Vivian Losnedahl II was the fifth child born to Roni Levent Losnedahl and Cosmina Losnedahl, with an additional child born after him. Espen was named after his great grandfather, much like two of his older siblings were also named after family ancestors.
Calling the Losnedahl household simply “well off” is a bit of an understatement. The family has cash to burn. As large as the household is, the house they live in could house a family about six times their size, and then some. However, the place never feels empty due to all the servants that also reside there. Being the busy bees that they are, Roni and Cosmina Losnedahl never had the time to properly care for their children. So, a personal maid was assigned to each one.
The maid that was assigned to Espen was named Arianne. Arianne Bulle. A very nice young woman, she’s the reason for most of Espen’s personality. As Espen is so very impressionable, he grew up to act a lot like her especially because she was the only person he was around on a consistent basis. For example; due to all the superstitions Arianne had Espen picked them up as well.
The Rhee household’s status was very similar to that of the Losnedahl’s. Other than living in a different city in Norway, the main difference between the two was the number of children each had. While Losnedahl had six, Rhee only had one. Enter Sabina Rhee. Much like Espen and all his siblings, she was tutored at home and her parents were concerned about the fact that she had no friends her age. So, she was brought to meet the Losnedahl children.
Rhee was only nine years old when she met Espen, and he was only eight. It had surprised both her parents when the only child she took a liking to was Espen. With four girls to choose from, one might have thought little Rhee would end up befriending one of them. But, nope! Rhee and Espen became best friends very quickly, and Rhee made frequent visits.
The girl was daring. She rubbed off on Espen as well. Not nearly as much as his maid had in his earlier years, but still enough to make a significant impact. Espen also became a bit more daring. He begun to test rules. Only a bit, but just enough for the servants to notice the difference.
Now, Espen was given a gift from his father when he was younger. By the time he was ten, he wore it on a bow clear for all to see. A large emerald with a teal gleam to it. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but Espen frequently wandered around the city alone. One night he wandered around a bit too late and took a wrong turn. A man had seen the gem, and wanted to steal it. Espen, being naive to the world and not knowing the man could kill or maim him if he didn’t get his way, obviously refused to give the man his father’s gift.
The man that wanted the gem had a knife. Maybe this’d have been a problem, but Espen had gotten a bit lucky. His hand had transformed into a fantastic blade! That scared the man off. But... Espen would make sure to be a bit more careful traversing the streets for now on.
Turns out Espen was a demon weapon. A demon atgeir. Though Espen was not sure where the weapon blood had come from, he kinda just rolled with it. Not a big deal to him, as nothing changed.
This was until, five years later at the age of fifteen, it was recommended that Espen enrolled in Shibusen. And so, Espen did exactly that and set off for the school known as Shibusen.

Behind the strings
Alias: Direbolt or Firebolt. You can call me Bolty too if you want.
Other characters: Stella Riordan, Elias Larenz, Cendrine Calida, Cyrille Lécuyer, and Ivor Moores
RP Sample: Hurried footsteps could be heard echoing through the halls of the Losnedahl mansion. Espen was getting to be a bit annoyed now. Where on earth was that girl?! She was supposed to be around here somewhere, right? Okay, okay. The house was big and he had only been looking for like three minutes. Even so, Espen wanted to figure out where Sabina was as soon as possible! Why couldn’t she just wait at the front door like normal guests?
His footsteps slowed then halted when Espen noted a familiar looking face. ”Arianne.” He spoke, trying to summon her attention. She turned her head quickly to face him, then smiled warmly. ”Have you seen Sabina?”
”Courtyard.”
That was all the maid had to say for Espen to be off again. He had been walking in the wrong direction. Oh well. That place wasn’t too hard to get to. It only took another minute or two before Espen opened the door that led out into the neatly kept courtyard.
There was indeed a girl standing in the courtyard. She had her back turned, but she must have heard Espen enter. The doors weren’t too quiet. She was just waiting for him to say something, obviously. ”Sabi~” Espen spoke with a melodious voice, knowing that’d bother the girl enough just enough for her to break the act.
And he was correct. Sabina spun around. She looked a bit angry for a split second, but soon enough retained the poised look she meant to be wearing. ”There you are, Espen. About time.” Sabina spoke with a calm voice. Odd, she must have been suppressing something. Normally she was very energetic. ”I just wanted to see you off before you head to Shibusen.”
”Oh, right.” Espen said, smiling at the girl. Man, she was acting peculiar today. Eh. Whatever. ”You know, I’m sure you could always come to vi-”
Espen’s voice was cut off when Sabina intervened. She had run up to Espen and was now pulling at his collar. Being a bit shorter, the girl had to look up at him slightly. ”You’re gonna come back, right?”
All that poise was gone now. Espen swore the girl switched attitudes at the drop of a hat. ”Oh, yes of course!” He replied almost immediately. Truth was that the boy hadn’t given the whole thing much thought. Oh well. The answer had made Sabina happy. She even hugged him.
