It was 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday, the perfect time for Joanna to attempt to have the dance studio to herself. Nobody had classes, so why would anybody wake up this early to train? She was missing home a little bit, and at her old school she was a co-captain on her cheerleading squad. It wasn't training, or dancing in the conventional sense, but she needed a floor space big enough to practice her tumbling. The sun shined down onto her as she put her mousy brown hair into two french braids. The sunlight bounced off the mirror, illuminating her light eyes. A calm smile was spread upon her freckled face. Grabbing a handheld speaker, She took off bounding down the halls of the dormitories and made her way to the studio. She opened the door to see a beautiful, empty dance hall with a wide open wood floor. She admired the layout of the room, a mirrored wall stood on one-side, hosting way for a balance beam, and wall adorned with wide open windows stood at the other. You could see the morning sunlight peaking through the blowing trees outside. It was a calm part of Shibusen, she understood now why they used it for training purposes to newer students. It would help ease them into the zone. She ran to a stool positioned at the far end of the room, and placed down her boombox. She plugged in her phone, and turned on her music whilst beginning to stretch. After stretching her legs on the floor, Jo stood up. She shifted her weight to her right foot, and outstretched her left leg back, behind her with her toes close to the back of her head. Arms above and back, she stretched to reach her foot, and grabbed it in her hand. As she hold there still, if any passerby saw, Jo was positioned in great resemblance to that of a scorpion's tail. Suddenly she snapped back, both legs positioned to the floor once more. Smiling and running about to the music, she made her way to the other side of the room. Staring at the wide open floor space in front of her, she started a quick, two-step run. The interlude of a new song begin to play from her boombox. ♪ Daydream Joanna's short run transitioned with a small hop. A red panda's head appeared in the doorway, shifting slightly. Its beady eyes stared at Joanna before the door opened all the way with a creak. The head was actually the design on a hood, pulled up around the head of a young girl. She had dark blue hair that stuck out from under her hood and large, hazel eyes that blinked a few times. The girl stepped into the room, and other than the hoodie, complete with a red panda tail sewn to the bottom behind her, one could not ignore the size of this girl. She had to be the shortest one had seen in a while at the school. She was also pretty small in stature, slim and lithe. Again, anyone had to wonder how old she was. Bouncing slightly on her toes, the girl brought her hands up under her chin in loose fists. With her long, black sleeves covering most of her hands, it looked like she had paws. "Those are some really cool moves ya got there!" The girl smiled widely at Joanna, bouncing up and down a little higher. "You're so good! Were you in the Olympics to be that good?" Excitement bubbled out of her long stretch of words as she reached up to bat at one of the felt ears of her hood.
She took a couple of steps into the room, swishing her hips in time with the music, bringing her now flexed hands to her sides. Her tail swung back and forth as the girl hummed along with the melody. "My name's Tally. What's yours?"

"Oh how cute!" Jo jumped out of her split and ran toward the girl. "My name is Joanna, but you can call me Jo," she pinched one of the panda's ears. Jo faked a yawn and stretched, "I haven't been in the Olympics but I won a lot of cheerleading competitions." The song was almost over, "If you want you can dance with me, I didn't think anyone would be awake this early." Jo turned around to bound toward the boombox, then stopped in her tracks and turned back to look at Tally, "Say, what are you doing up this early anyway? You weren't stalking me or something, were you?" Jo stepped forward and crossed her arms over her chest. She looked down at Tally in an intimidating manner. Joanna squinted her eyes and slightly raised her top lip. The girl seemed sweet and innocent, and Jo was having a hard time trying to look serious without laughing. She belted out giggling, "Just kidding! Did I scare you?" A smile now washed across her face. She wondered if Tally could tell she was bluffing the whole time. The sun reflecting off the mirrors in the studio made beautiful rainbows of light. A new song began to play. ♪ I'm falling to pieces but I need this Yeah, I need this ♪ "Oh!" This was one of Jo's favorite songs. "Come on Tally! Can you do a cartwheel?" Jo did three of them and landed in the middle of the dance floor. Tally giggled as the other girl, Jo was her name, pinched on of her ears. Her eyes widened as Jo went on. "Wow, cheerleading? That's so cool!" Taking a proud stance, Tally jabbed her thumb at her chest. "I'm quite the expert tree climber myself! I guess you can call that some kind of parkour or gymnastics. I can be pretty agile." She took a small opportunity to brag, giggling again after her last statement. With a smile and a nod, she took a few more paces into the room. "I'd love to show you some of my moves," she said, jumping then spinning then doing a sort of Russian kick. The dance had made her hood fall onto her shoulders, revealing her messy blue hair. She finished her little combo off with a grand pose, complete with jazz hands. Getting out of her pose, she bowed, her hood flopping back onto her head.
She straightened up, her smile fading a little at the interrogation. "N-no! I wasn't stalking you, promise!" Tally quickly says, waving her hands, or rather her long sleeves, in front of her. She stared at the ground, pouting, burying her hands into her hoodie pockets. She stepped back as Jo stepped forwards. "I wanted to be here bright and early. If I could get a look at everyone who entered the school, I could pick out who was alone. And if someone is alone, that means they don't have a partner. And if they don't have a partner, I will check to see if they're a Meister. And if they are a Meister, I will ask them to be mine." She finished talking, looking up at Jo with big brown eyes, surprised a little when the girl started laughing. Tally had to admit she was scared, but she straightened up and shook her head confidently.
"I can do a cartwheel!" Tally announced at Jo's promptings. She ran a few steps, did a little skip in preparation as she held her arms up, and did a cartwheel followed by a round-off, her sweater's tail swinging wildly. She stuck the landing, holding the crouch for a bit before throwing her arms up like she had seen the Olympic gymnasts do. "Ta-da!!"

It was closer to 10 a.m. now and the sun was blaring through the windows of the studio. It was bright and warm, and filled with laughter from Tally and Jo fooling around. Tally's words seemed to have pierced through Joanna's mind, "and if someone is alone, that means they don't have a partner..."
During the middle of dancing Jo spun around and dropped straight down to the floor, "You are right, Tally, I don't have a partner." She sat up and looked at her, "You are adorable I would totally pick you, but I am a weapon too." Jo lay back down on the wood floor and began to make snow angels, without the snow of course. The slight breeze rustled the leaves on the tall trees out in the courtyard. Jo turned her face to Tally, "It's like late enough for people to be waking up now," Jo giggled, "want to go run around outside? We can look for meisters together! Oh!" Joanna sat straight up and ran to the far end of the room, "Show me your weapon form, maybe it will help me get an idea of who the best partner for you would be!" Jo punched forward her right arm, and a slight buzzing noise was heard as a glow engulfed her arm. The buzz turned into the sound of a revving engine, and the veil of the glow lifted to reveal that Jo's arm was now the blade of a chainsaw. The rattling noise bounced off every mirrored wall in the studio. It was much louder than Jo thought it would be. She popped it out of her shoulder socket, spun it around a couple times, then quickly transformed back. "I'm a chainsaw, pretty cool, right? It's really loud though and it probably echoed off the walls," Jo scratched the back of her head and let out a faint laugh. "Hurry, hurry, show me yours and then let's leave before we get in trouble!" She jumped up and down a couple times, then stood eyes wide and hands clasped together in front of her, waiting to see what Tally would transform into.
