Smack! Shaking her hand a little as she stepped back from the training dummy she'd just punched, Lurele turned around and abruptly kicked it instead. She was working out some extra agitation today - it had been a long day, and she found herself in the dojo without even thinking about it. Rather than go for a weapon like other students though, Lurele had gone straight to one of the training dummies with her fists.
Weapons... That was part of why she was annoyed. She still hadn't met anyone willing to partner with her. She had been patient at first, but the longer it went on the more it felt like she wasn't going to meet her future partner at all.
What kind of Meister doesn't have a weapon partner? Talk about a waste of space... What am I doing wrong? It has to be my fault, I don't know any other reason why it would take this long... Her thoughts were punctuated by another rapid series of punches to the training dummy. Her knuckles were starting to get scuffed, but it was nothing she wasn't used to.
Stepping away from the training dummy again, Lurele shakes her hands for a moment while waiting for the stinging to go away. "Grrr..." Balancing herself up on one foot she bends her leg at the knee, snapping her foot out to kick the training dummy again. Repeating this she growls quietly under her breath, letting her built up frustration manifest as the physical effort. She seemed entirely focused on the training dummy, letting the world around her slip away as she lost herself in the flurry of punches and kicks.

Sable was in the dojo, one of the only parts of the school she actually enjoyed, slashing away at one of the training dummies. She’d only been here for about ten minutes and had already worked up a bit of a sweat. For whatever reason Sable decided today would be a good day to train extra hard and let out some of her pent up emotions. She had been rather angry ever since she had gotten a letter from home a couple days ago. Said letter told her about how Cilla and her meister achieved a new soul resonance technique which not only reminded Sable why she disliked her sister, but that she still didn’t have a partner of her own. Sure she hadn't been at Shibusen for too long but she assumed she’d have a partner by now or at least have met a candidate.
Sable took a break to take a drink from her water bottle when she noticed someone hitting the dummy nearly as hard as she was. The thing was the girl wasn’t using a weapon or was a weapon herself in her partial form, she was just using her hands and feet. “Damn…” Sable said quietly to herself. Sable sometimes had a hard time giving the dummy that kind of a beating even while in her partial form but this girl was doing it no problem. “Hey you’re pretty good.” she said walking up to the girl. “You seem to be giving that dummy quite the workout. I haven’t seen blows like that in a long time.” Sable retracted the blade from her partial form back into her forearm and held out her hand as if she was expecting a handshake. “The name’s Sable. You?”

It admittedly took Lurele a bit longer than it normally would have for her to notice she'd been approached - she was rather focused on either breaking the dummy or a bone, whichever happened first. As the blue haired girl's words finally registered in her mind, Lurele took a few shaky steps away from the dummy to turn and look at the girl who'd addressed her. Smiling as she tries to catch her breath, Lurele had looked to Sable just in time to see the girl's arm change from a blade back into a usual limb. She's... She's a weapon?
Quickly shaking her head to refocus her thoughts, Lurele extended a hand to shake the one Sable had offered her. "Oh, uhm, Lurele... Thanks." Lurele would've had a rather strong grip as she shook the other girl's hand, before bringing her hand back and flexing her fingers again. Now that she wasn't fixated on the training dummy it was starting to sting where she'd been striking it. Without thinking about it she pulls a small roll of tape out of her pocket - it seemed to be almost out, as though she'd been using it quite a bit. Biting the tape currently wrapped around her palm and ripping it off, she starts to re-wrap her hands as she speaks.
"You're a weapon, huh? Training without your meister?" The possibility that Sable didn't have a partner hadn't seemed to have occurred to her. "I'm a meister... Well, at least I'm supposed to be. For some reason I don't think punching Kishin is going to work out as well as punching training dummies."

Sable was surprised to see that the girl’s handshake was weaker than what she had expected. Though considering the way she pulled back as well as the fact she had just been punching wood with her bare hands, Sable assumed Lurele’s hand must have been in some sort of pain. Sable studied Lurele for a moment; the clothes she wore, her rather long hair, the amount of sweat on her face, and of course the black tape she was rolling around her hands. It was easy to tell that she was no dainty little flower girl. As if the beating she gave the training dummy wasn’t enough of an indication. When Lurele mentioned Sable’s training without a meister she blushed a bit and put on an almost embarrassed expression. “Yeah about that.” she said while rubbing the back of her neck nervously. “I don’t actually have a meister quite yet. N-not to say that no one wants me or anything. It’s just...Everyone at this stupid school is so weak, ya know? They clearly don’t know a good weapon when they see one.” Sable was obviously trying to sound tougher than she really was. The truth was that no one at Shibusen really payed attention to Sable and anyone who did didn’t like her very much due to her cocky and honestly rather harsh nature.
Sable’s embarrassed demeanor changed, however, when Lurele mentioned that she’s only suppose to be a meister. This implied that she too was without a partner. “Don’t tell me you don’t have a partner yet. Hell, you fight better than most of the other people I’ve seen here.” Just then the wheels in Sable’s brain started to turn as she got an idea. Perhaps she could convince Lurele to partner with her. Of course Sable had to make absolutely sure this girl was as strong as she was before even considering her as a partner. “Hey, I’ve been wailing on that dumb piece of wood all week. I've been itching to fight a real opponent for awhile now, would you be up for a little one on one?”

Lurele had paused as Sable mentioned not having a partner yet - could this be her chance to make a good impression? She'd almost missed the other girl asking her to spar, the possibility of a partnership filling her thoughts. Blinking and quickly shaking her head to try and clear her thoughts again, Lurele smirks and pumps her fist in front of her. She'd finally gotten the tape re-wrapped, it seemed.
"What, like a bit of sparring? I guess I wouldn't mind... Just a friendly match, though. I wouldn't want to hurt you by accident." Grinning at the teasing jest, Lurele winks at Sable before glancing around to make sure they had plenty of space. It seemed as though they did, so Lurele takes a few steps away before turning around and rocking back on the balls of her feet. Her grin still on her face as she brings her hands up in front of her, Lurele flexes her fingers before balling them up into fists.
"Guess I'm ready when you are! Never really sparred since arriving here, not really sure the proper way to go about this." As she spoke Lurele was busy looking over Sable - she'd already seen the other girl's arm turn into a blade, and wanted to try and avoid that just in case. She found herself starting to drift towards Sable's left side, trying to stay on the far side from the potential blade. After all, she had no desire to get wounded in just something as simple as a friendly sparring match.

Sable smiled a cocky grin at Lurele’s response. This was excellent, it seemed everything was going according to plan. Now Sable just had to make sure Lurele was in fact as strong as she predicted. Even if this was just a “friendly sparring match” Sable wasn’t going to hold anything back save for maybe her blade. The last thing she needed was to accidentally cut Lurele up in some horrible way, and it’s not like she needed her partial form to win anyway.
“Trust me I’m not the one who should be worried about getting hurt.” Sable says chuckling slightly. Lurele certainly seemed as cocky as Sable which could be seen as both a good thing and a bad thing. Either way Sable knew she would be able to get along with this girl which was always a good sign. Especially considering they may end up being future partners.
Sable watched as her opponent made some space for their little sparring match and took a fighting stance, grinning all the way. Whatever the final outcome of this fight was it would certainly be an interesting one. Sable actually felt excited, she was finally about to fight someone she could consider a challenge for the first time in awhile. She noticed Lurele scanning her as she talked much in the same way Sable looked Lurele over earlier. The redheaded girl then drifted a little towards the left. Why was that, was she afraid of Sable’s blade? Maybe Sable could use that fear to her advantage. Soon she too was drifting but to the right meaning both girls were now circling each other in a way.
“Don’t worry about it you’ll be fine. And besides...” Sable says getting into her own fighting position. “I’ll lead.” At that moment Sable rushed at the other girl going for a sharp right hook before faking Lurele out and going for her left. She followed it up with a few quick jabs to her opponent's face. If Lurele wanted to win she was going to have to give it her all.

Lurele had brought up her arms to block the initial hook, leaning into the blow rather than away from it. She had intended to use it as a chance to close the distance, but then Sable had moved to the left. There was no way she was going to get her hands into position to block the jabs to her face in time... So she didn't. Rather than blocking the blows, Lurele dropped like a dead weight to the ground. Pressing her palms on the floor to stop her momentum at the last second, Lurele tries to twist her body about to aim a kick at the back of Sable's legs.
"You don't waste any time, do you?" Lurele grins as she pushes herself back to one knee, bringing her hands up defensively before jumping back to her feet. "...I like that." Laughing quietly, Lurele jumps forward to close the distance between them again. She seemed to be actually having fun with the risk of being punched...
As she gets closer to Sable again, Lurele ducks down before aiming a punch towards Sable's midsection. She was holding back a little bit - mostly because she didn't want to trigger a soul purge against the other girl. Panting slightly from the movement, Lurele still tries to speak as they move in their little sparring dance. "So... You don't... Have a partner yet? Don't suppose that... You're looking for one, huh?" A dumb question, probably, but Lurele wanted to get the topic out in the open... And it wasn't like she wasn't used to talking while exercising. After asking the question Lurele starts to step backwards again, bringing her hands up to get ready to block the expected counter attack.

It seemed like Lurele had fallen for Sable's fake out just like she had planned. Maybe she wasn't partner material after all. That is until she dropped to the ground and kicked the back of Sable's legs, tripping her up a little before she caught herself. "Heh, no can't say I do." Sable quipped back at Lurele. Her opponent then jumped towards Sable. Was she crazy? Sable could easily attack her from this distance. She tried to hit the red haired girl but missed and instead received a blow to the midriff which made her stumble back a bit.
The two girls were once again preforming their sparring dance and circled around each other waiting for the other to strike. As they did this Lurele felt it was the time to talk. That was okay, Sable didn't mind a little small talk or taunting in the middle of a fight. "Well that...Depends. Are you...Looking for one...Too?" At this point Sable had joined Lurele in panting. The fight had just started and already both sides seemed to be pretty tired. Sable already knew the answer to her question, why else would the girl ask her if she wanted a partner?
Barely giving Lurele time to answer, Sable rushed at her once more. This time she brought her knee up and aimed for the stomach. Once that hit she would bring her elbow down on Lurele's back hard hopefully forcing her to the ground.
