Aslan had never felt such an enormous amount of joy before. Of course there were other things mixed in. Relief. Elation. Excitement. Love. Even with Bianca making his hair look like he’d just walked through a hurricane, Aslan was most aware of how his heart felt like it was overflowing with love, not that it hadn’t always been for Bianca. Now if she could manage not to knock his glasses off everything would be perfect.
After the confession and acceptance worthy of a sappy romcom, Aslan set Bianca back down. He watched her grin and bounce on her feet moving away so she could spin around with her arms out. Aslan was far more restrained in how happy he was, but the grin on his face was unmistakable. Spying the team moving right along still near his house, he remembered he should probably thank them. But they were on the move already, or rather the girl certainly was. Aslan saw her raise her hand and mimicking the gesture, though he actually waved. Maybe he could send them both thank you cards later or something. Even if he’d shot down their original ideas, he still needed the kick in the ass they’d wound up giving him to get him motivated. Aslan felt nothing but gratitude towards them for that.
“Hey you, what are you just standing around like a lump for?” He turned back to Bianca, who was currently doing lunge stretches with a fierce look in her eyes. “We need to celebrate! Let’s run laps around the neighborhood a few times, let the kids from homeroom know we’re off the market, make ‘em jealous!” Aslan felt the color blaze in his cheeks, but he smiled at her anyway.
“Sure Bianca, let’s do that. That sounds like fun.”
“Of course it does, I thought of it! Now get home and change, don’t make me chase you. Daylight’s burning!” Bianca insisted, but despite her warning she stood up properly and jogged around Aslan anyway to push him towards home. She may have looked more forceful is she weren’t positively beaming and is Aslan hadn’t started laughing again.
