Weapons were still a new concept Niina was wrapping her mind around. It was one thing to realize the existence of weapons and know what they were utilized for, it was another to actually plan on wielding one, using one, and coming to terms that some of them were living people with personalities and abilities. It was nothing short of magical, but also so very much more than mere magic. Her hand firmly on Fritz’ handle of his key form, the back of her mind was spinning and attempting to come to terms with the gloriousness that was the living weapon.
It would bring her great joy to stay alongside this boy and learn about the magic of weapons and people. This was only further shown by her joyous smile, dramatic words, and matching ridiculous ‘pose.’ Her words of vanquishing the darkness spoken, she briefly saw Fritz’ face appear in the teeth of the keys again. Already letting the weight of his form tip her to the side, she heard him speak as her body sunk beneath the water.
They would help people.
Thinking this in confirmation of both of their words, she couldn’t help but smile. Refusing to release him from her grasp just yet, the water encircled both her body and his key form once again. Being taken by the water, she momentarily forgot how much better the ocean would be. Eyes open even as she remained in a somewhat ‘laying’ position beneath the water, slowly sinking towards the pool floor, her left arm was still somewhat outstretched to her side, hand all the while holding to Fritz. Niina’s eyes were on him, a light smile but an obvious concentration in her gaze.
She tried to focus on what she knew about him, on her love of the water and his as well. Niina wanted to feel somewhat responsible for the connection between them. To not let him do all the ‘work’ that she didn’t quite understand. Chlorine lightly stinging her vision, it was but a thought in the back of her mind.
The weight of the key helping her sink towards the bottom of the pool, she eventually decided to change position. Pulling Fritz closer to her again, she brought the key up and over her body, handle still on the left of her, but shaft over her middle and teeth to her right and angled more up towards her head. Her right hand gently circled around him just beneath the teeth. While shifting her handling on him, she brought her upper body forward, feet beneath her again. Making contact with the pool floor in one moment, the next she pushed off of it, propelling her up and forward as well as Fritz.
In a few seconds they were in the more shallow end of the pool, her feet touching the pool floor again but in an area where she could just barely lift her head above the water as well as the teeth of his form. Taking a deep breath once above water, she shook her head lightly, getting strands of blonde hair stuck to her face.
A light grin still across her face, she spoke to Fritz, glancing towards the teeth she held above water, assuming he would either appear there or do his magical transformation back.
“What do I do now? Since you’ve been partnered before, maybe you can tell me what I’m supposed to expect from here on out.”
A little more glee slipped into her expression as she tilted her head ever so slightly to the right, eyes squinting a small bit as her smile widened.
