Appearance: Dante is a might taller than the average boy of his age. Though he appears as being on the slim side, he is much stronger than he looks, carrying a good deal of toned muscle from years of parkour and Savate alike. Dante keeps his blonde hair cut short to the nape of his neck. If he lets it alone it’s actually very curly, but he prefers to straighten it. The way he styles it, his hair always looks a bit mussed. His skin always looks vaguely sun-kissed, and he tans quite a bit in summer. His eyes are a golden and honey-colored.
Having moved from one warm climate to another, Dante dresses for sun and heat. T-shirts and tank tops are what he wears, usually throwing on a hoodie as well just in case. The jeans he wears are battered looking from the falls he takes and the amount of activity he puts them through. If the temperature rises above what Dante finds comfortable, he’ll throw on shorts instead. Red seems to be the color he wears most often, though he does seem to favor blues and greys as well. Converse and high tops are his preferred footwear. While his ears aren’t pierced, he does love to wear ear cuffs since they don’t bring the threat of being torn out during an ugly fight. Dante wears a rosary that is a keepsake of his grandmother’s; he keeps it tucked beneath his shirt for good luck.
Height: 5’10”
.
Weight: 163lbs
Fighting Style: At the age of ten, Dante began learning Savate, a French martial art combining boxing and kicks. He progressed well and is skilled with it. It taught him to be quick on his feet and has helped him develop more muscle over the years. While he knows how to throw a punch and be quick about it, Dante prefers to fight with the kicks. Traditionally, the style consists of roundhouse kicks, front kicks, and sweeps meant to knock down opponents. Dante deviates slightly from this occasionally as he will use his shins to hook during fights if he thinks it’ll potentially help him. He also has practiced parkour since he was a preteen, giving him added ability to dodge and try to outmaneuver his opponent. Overall, Dante is very much a close-range fighter that tries not to let too much distance between himself and his opponent since it lets him fight better in the way he’s been taught.
Personality: At first, Dante can be a bit shy to most. He’s polite and courteous and can appear a bit stiff or awkward when you first meet him, but as he starts feeling more comfortable around someone he’ll begin to relax into his usual self. Dante by default is a sweetheart. He has a genuine concern for others and a want to make the world a better place in any way he can. If he’s in the position to help someone, he will try to the best of his ability if at all possible. He worries easily and a lot to the point of making himself very anxious on many an occasion, and always wants to be sure the people he cares about are doing okay.
While he tends to be bit lacking in the area of academics and overall intelligence, Dante knows people well. He’s always been good at picking up cues and reading another person’s behavior, even when he was a child. He uses this frequently to get a feel for people when he meets someone new, trying to learn how to behave around them better, and he especially will keep an eye on people he’s worried about. Coupled with that, he just good at talking to people, both in a sense like he likes to but also in that he’s surprisingly good at giving advice. Dante may be wise I the area of people and interpersonal relationships, but his grades are another. Apart from him being smart with people, that’s honestly where it ends. Unless it’s literature, then he’s golden what with his love of romance and charming way with words. He can be a bit of a flirt and knows it, but when Dante really falls for someone, it is instant.
Dante is an expert at keeping a cool head. He’s a negotiator and someone who would rather talk than throw punches. Even when upset in a way of being irritated he won’t look very angry, more eerily serious in a way that looks unfamiliar. He speaks in a lower, clearer tone and tries reason if he can. Few and far between does anger ever truly reach Dante but in those moments, it is well to assume that he is terrifying. On the flipside, Dante is crap at keeping it together if he’s feeling down. Extreme cases where sadness take over will very easily yank him down into a depressed state that is very hard to shake him out of. He hides at home, doesn’t eat much, blasts music, and wallows in his own sorrows until he either processes or someone kicks him back into gear.
This one also has a flair for the dramatic, which shows up at an increasing rate the longer he knows someone. Exaggerated tones accompanied by hand gestures and over the top exclamations become readily apparent. A warm smile and soft look in his eyes are his default expression and he loves to see people happy. Though, in order to keep a calm exterior and be a pillar of stability for those he loves, Dante also has the tendency to shove his own emotions down and cover them up. Far from healthy, but it’s how he copes. He always puts others ahead of himself, even if he gets hurt in the process.
Inside the Soul
Weapon form: Dante’s Weapon form is that of a
Rapier that looks like its come straight out of some clichéd dual in France during the 17th century. The blade is silver and around three feet long, and is nearly as sharp as one would expect a razor to be. The hilt is also silver and sports an ornate curved design that wraps up and around where one would grip the sword. As the entire blade is sharpened, the blade may be used for stabbing, jabbing, or swiping as well as blocking.
Partial Form: Dante’s partial transformation consists of his hand turning into the blade of his rapier Weapon form. From the wrist of his right arm down is a silver blade. He can use it to block better than he can use it to jab and stab things as he is left handed.

Parkour – Since he first saw a friend of his learning parkour in middle school, Dante was determined to learn it. Since the age of fourteen he’s been practicing and has become quite good. He’s not quite ready to jump from rooftop to rooftop yet, or try and flip over oncoming traffic, but he can do wall walks and matrix-like things with a fair amount of ease.
Cooking – Disappointed that her daughters had no interest in learning the old family recipes, Dante’s mother took it upon herself to make sure that at least one of her children learned them for the sake of tradition. Therefore, Dante has become quite the chef. The only thing he regrets is that now his young sisters always expect food from him when they return home from school.
Mandolin – Dante wandered into a music store with his grandfather when he was seven and immediately ran to a mandolin. His grandfather took it as a sign and bought it for him. Dante has been playing it ever since and although he’s not exactly concert material, he does enjoy playing old folk songs that seem to run in his family on special occasions or just for fun.
Languages – Dante finds the subject of different languages fascinating. Given the opportunity, he’ll learn any foreign language mentioned to him. It’s something that has always interested him and he’ll sit and study languages for hours on end, if not learning words then learning grammar and sentence structure and verb form. Dante is fluent in Italian, English, French, Spanish, and Greek.

History: Dante was the first child born to Antonio and Casserine Giovanni on June 23rd. Following Dante were two sisters,
Felicia being born when Dante was two and
Giuliana when he was four. Born in Palermo on the island of Sicily. Growing up under clear sunny days and spending many a summer swimming in the ocean and visiting the beaches, Dante always had a love of being outdoors. With both parents being very busy, they frequently were dropped off to be watched by his mother’s parents. All three siblings grew very close to their grandmother as she was always there for them through thick and thin when no one else was and had been a pillar of stability for her family for years with her wisdom and kind heart.
Being that Dante’s parents had graduated from Shibusen themselves as a team, they expected at least one of their children would probably follow in their footsteps. With Casserine a Meister and Antonio a Demon Zweihander, they watched their children for signs just in case and enrolled them in Savate once they were old enough. For Dante, this began when he was ten; apt timing considering that would be when his Weapon blood would become apparent. His mother would go to wake him for school one morning and find a silver rapier tucked into bed rather than her son. As his father was the one he inherited his talents from, it was he who taught Dante about what all this meant and the possibility of him attending Shibusen should he so choose. Felicia would get the same talk two years later when she turned out to be a Weapon as well, a Demon Sabre. Giuliana would prove to take after their mother and prove to be a Meister after Soul Purging her brother in the gut during practice at the age of eleven.
When Dante entered his years at a preteen, he started learning parkour. A friend of his at school was into it and he thought ti looked cool, so he asked if he would teach him the basics. Between school and family get together was time for them to run through the little alleys of Palermo together, climbing trees and walls and moving up to rooftops and the even the bell tower of the old cathedral. It didn’t take long before parkour to join Dante’s list of favorite things to do alongside learning new languages. But when he was twelve, the family would be hit with a tragic loss. The grandmother that had watched over them for years would succumb to cancer, a loss that would send the entire family into deep mourning from losing such an important part of their lives. Having played such a huge role in raising the children when they were younger, Dante and his sisters were especially devastated. With such a huge loss to cope with, Antonio and Casserine wondered if this wasn’t perhaps the best time for a fresh start.
With three children that would likely attend Shibusen, they allowed a few months of mourning before they packed up their things and moved to Death City, a great deal of the entire Giovanni family following after them for similar reasons. Dante missed the beaches and the smell of the ocean, but the sun made up for it, and the move distracted him enough to pull him out of the depression he’d fallen into previously. Being in Death City took some adjusting to be sure, Dante actually getting to put his knowledge of the English language to proper use and slowly managing to water down his accent over time, not that he won’t occasionally throw into it to be dramatic, and it shows up again the moment he speaks a word of Italian.
Knowing he wanted to one day attend Shibusen, Dante did his best to work at being ready. He snuck out of the house to practice parkour at night to avoid being scolded for being reckless by his mother and talked to his dad alongside Felicia in learning how to manage a partial form. Of course his managed to manifest on his non-dominant hand and make things difficult, but it was something at least. He kept practicing Savate with his siblings and grew skilled in it. When Dante was just about to turn seventeen, he finally enrolled at Shibusen, his sisters both following him into the NOT class all at once and starting their journey together. A little while after enrolling, a chance decision of climbing around in the gears of a clock tower would end up being how Dante met his Meister, Victoria Pelham.
Extra Notes:
- Dante is pretty much the one who cooks if his mother isn’t home.
- Dante's family are loosely Catholic, and Dante is even more lax than they are
- Dante has an enormous collection of silly hats hidden in his closet.
- Dante is pretty much the chauffeur for his two younger sisters if they need to go anywhere until Felicia gets her driver’s license.
- Sloppy makeouts in the kitchen, bro.

Sugar, milk, and molasses. Sugar, milk, and molasses. What sugar saturated, oven-spawned monstrosity is she making, Dante thought. His mother was asking for almost half of the grocery store, plus a ridiculous amount of sugary sweet items. He could only wonder what exactly would be for dinner tonight with a grocery list that contained so much. He looked down at the basket in his hand and wondered if it would be able to hold all of what she was asking for. Sighing, Dante decided that only time would tell and ventured into the isles. Hopefully nabbing the items on his mother’s grocery list wouldn’t take too long. He had other things to do with his time after school.
For instance, he could be down by the warehouses practicing parkour. He was so close to getting his matrix flip right! He could walk nearly fight feet up a wall before he had to shove off or risk falling flat on his ass. Not that it would hurt that much. He’d gone through worse for the sake of looking cool. Regardless, after the groceries were bought he had also been tasked with picking up his sisters from their various after school activities, Giuliana from soccer practice and Felicia from her babysitting thing that she did for their neighbors a few blocks over. How she could withstand looking after not just triplets, but identical triplets who happened to love playing mind games with their previous sitters was beyond him.
Glancing down at the list, Dante paused in the middle of the isle and sighed. He’d barely made a dent in his mother’s requests. Seriously, was there a family reunion or something going on? They were Italian, yes, but was this much food truly necessary? Plucking a bottle of olive oil from the shelves and tossing it in the basket, Dante continued on his way. He really couldn’t complain since he also had a bad habit of commandeering the grocery list from time to time, being a wannabe chef himself. He liked to cook, but he mainly waited for when nobody else was home to do so. If he didn’t, Felicia and Guiliana would hound him about when the food would be done, his father would wander through and steal tastes of everything and his mother would hover about asking him if he needed her help. An annoying situation to say the least.
Shuddering at the mere thought of the kitchen being so crowded, the blond continued on his way. If he hoped to have any extra time left to himself by the time he returned home, he’d want to be quick. Otherwise it would be dinner time when he got home and that meant boisterous laughter and dishes piled as high as Sistine Chapel in the sink waiting to be washed. Dante mentally facepalmed. It was going to be a long afternoon.
