Death City was as warm as usual and filled with an increasingly loud buzzing. The bussing wasn’t covering the whole city however, just an alley behind Death Robbins. The building was suffering from a lack of customers as most of the people who passed by didn’t want to bother the bees. A few figures could be seen inside but the tables outside remained uninhabited by consumers. The owner was getting sick of his business being lowered by the pesky bugs and had sent out a request to Shibusen for aid. The news that a team had accepted the task had recently got to him.
Anxiously he waited inside the cooled building serving the few customers brave enough to move past the swarm that had decided to locate themselves behind the building. From inside the buzzing could be heard as the bees went about their business. Their buzzing was loud enough to be heard over the generic music that was played in the ice cream shop. Thankfully none of the bees had ventured inside the building, probably due to the cold temperature inside. This at least provided a form of sanctuary for those that wished to enjoy a frozen treat. At least the inside of the ice cream shop was safe for now but who knew how long the peace would last.
Behind the building was a large open square that housed a few empty crates and garbage cans. The problem however resided in how the bees had used these areas to build their hives. Swarming in the safety of the objects they managed to grow safely until they became a problem. Now they were a thriving mass of insects that posed a threat to any passerby who dared bother them. So of course the only solution was to send in a team from Shibusen to take care of the problem.

This was Victoria's first mission with her new weapon Dante. She was a little nervous to say the least but it wasn't because it was her first mission, oh no. It was because Dante had picked it and they had to deal with bees. BEES!! Horrible nasty bug that liked to sting the shit out of you. Tori didn't care that it was hot out she made sure to put on many layers of clothing to protected herself from the string that where sure to come. She wasn't happy about this, not at all and it was written all over her face and body language. Tori's brow was furrowed and her arms crossed over her chest once and a while she she sneak a peek at her weapon from the corner of her eye. For a few blocks Tori walked in silence next to Dante only the sound of her heals clicking the ground broke that silence. Finely she looked over at him with a indignant huff. "Bees? Bloody bees?! That what we are going after?! Really? You couldn't have picked a better mission, noooooooo it had to be bees." The sound of annoyance came strong from the British girls lips. She looked away from him again still upset over the whole matter. She suddenly stopped dead in her tracks when she hears the buzzing. What an awful sound, it gave Tori the creeps. She gave a visible shiver and rubbed her arms with her hands. She wasn't cold, just crept out. Tori was scared no she was far from scared, bees didn't scare her, nothing much really scared her. The noise that the little buggers made on the other hand did unsettle her. She being walking again to where the ice cream shop is. "I think we should go talk to the shop keeper just to see how bad this really is before we get in over our heads."

Why had he picked bees? What in the world had possessed him to think that fighting bees would be good for a first mission? Dante didn’t quite remember, but he’d likely thought it more interesting for whatever reason. Still, it was just bees. Tiny, insect creatures seemed easy enough to deal with. That is, until he and Tori were actually walking down the street towards the location of their first mission. Perhaps he should’ve picked something easier, with less chances of walking away covered in bee stings. It also didn’t help that Tori was not at all pleased about having to fight bees. Well that was just great. They hadn’t even started the mission yet and already Dante had managed to make her mad just by picking it. Still, there wasn’t much to be done about it now. That didn’t stop Dante from shrugging his shoulders and donning a somewhat guilty expression,
“Sorry Tori. I guess I wasn’t really thinking when I picked it off the board.”
Hopefully she wouldn’t be too upset with him, at least not for long. The two would need to learn to work together not just to get through this mission, but also to eventually get out of the NOT class. Noticing Tori stop, Dante wondered what was the matter until the buzzing reached his ears as well. Oh dear. Well, that sounded like trouble for certain. If there was that much of a racket, there must be quite a few bees on the loose. Okay so this really may not have been the best idea. Dante only hoped that Victoria wasn’t afraid of bees. He wasn’t exactly scared of them, although the whole bit about the stingers did make him wary of the evil things. Still, they were only bugs and since he was usually the one getting rid of bugs that happened to show up in the bathroom sink for his sisters, insects didn’t really bother him. Sea cucumbers on the other hand, now those were just plan creepy.
Dante followed Tori and nodded in agreement with what she had to say on the matter. It probably was a good idea to get a handle on just how severe the situation was before running into the swarm,
“That’s probably for the best. Lead the way, signorina.”
It seemed a bit funny that the bees were concentrated in the area around an ice cream shop. As far as Dante knew, though, bees liked sugar so maybe that was why. Or did all insects like sugar? He couldn’t remember, but then again that wasn’t very important. Hopefully the situation wouldn’t be too bad. It was just a little swarm of bees after all. What could possibly go wrong?

As the team grew closer to the shop the buzzing grew louder until it became a nearly physical hum in the air. The sound reached a frequency not unlike that of a resonance between a meister and weapon. Within the hum of the swarm a few more adventurous bees flew out from behind the building and began to crawl along the windows. Looking inside at the safety of the humans and tapping against the glass with no results. After some time the bees grew tired of banging themselves against the glass that was clearly too strong for them to break.
Inside the shop the bees had been ignored but the buzzing was still audible over the music. The few patrons that had ventured out sat in silence as they consumed the frozen treats. Due to the buzzing outside the atmosphere was tense for those inside. If the bees found the slightest way in the shop could be swarmed by the buzzing masses that resided around them. Sadly they knew it was only a matter of time before this happened unless the bugs were dealt with soon. While awaiting the Shibusen team all that could be done was to keep the place sealed as best they could and hope nothing found a way in.
Outside a few bees ventured away from the hives and toward the students. Buzzing around their heads making sure to pass by their ears to make sure the buzzing noise would be as loud as possible. However they did not attack the students just yet. The pass by was in essence a warning to the team to abandon their mission or face the insectoid fury that the hive would unleash. After giving their message the bees retreated back to the hive to see if the students would heed their warning or continue their mission.

Tori was getting a little freaked out by the growing sounds of the bees. She normally wasn't scared as such things as bees or bugs of any sort but this was a very loud buzz. She even goes so far as the reach up try and clean out her ears hoping that maybe it would help with the sound. It didn't. She picks up her walking pace. If you could feel the buzzing in the air that could only mean that there must have been a hole lot of bees, she honestly didn't think it was going to be that bad.
As they drew closer a bees flew right past her ear and the mounting tension grown in the meister came out. Tori flipped and flung her arms all around her trying to get the bees away. "BLOODY HELL!! GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME YOU WINGED SPAWNS OF SATAN!" She suddenly stops realizing how much of a fool she was looking right now in front of Dante. She looks back over at him and straightens up dusting herself off. "You saw nothing Dante."
She turns on her heal and makes her way into the ice cream shop. It was very dead for an ice cream shop in this city and Tori could see why. Tori glanced over at the window and saw the bees trying to get in and for one she wouldn't want to be in a shop with the over hanging thread of getting the shit stung out of you. She walks up to the counter and tings the little bell looking around. "Humm Hello? Victoria and Dante here from the school. We heard and can see that you have quite a big bee problem." She looks back over to the window and gives a glare at the bees.
How were her and Date going to get ride of them? He was a rapier after all and that doesn't seem like it would help in this situation. This mission might have to be done with a bit more finesse then these two could pull off.

Okay so maybe the bees were a tad bit more intimidating now that he and Tori were closer to them. Dante wasn’t all that weirded out by insects. He didn’t particularly care for them or anything, but as long as they left him alone and didn’t somehow find their way into the house he usually didn’t mind them. Still, the deafening hum that hung in the air definitely made him slightly nervous. In order to be that audible, there had to have been a lot of bees hanging around, certainly more than he’d originally expected. Things still seemed fairly simple, though. But how in the world were they going to fight off bees of all things? Again, Dante seriously questioned his state of mind when he’d picked the mission. He’d hopefully have better judgment next time. At least he and Tori weren’t freaking out too badly yet.
And of course the minute that thought crossed his mind a bee apparently flew way too close to Tori. Pausing for a moment, the blonde watched his Meister flail about and scream at the striped offenders with mild amusement. He snickered a bit when she regained her composure,
“See what? You freaking out over a tiny little bug?”
Dante really needed to learn to not tempt fate. Upon finishing that sentence, a rather loud buzzing in his ear alerted him to a bee flying way too close for comfort. Startled, the Italian practically jumped out of his skin, scooting sideways a bit awkwardly and letting out what could only be described as a rather girly squeal. Glancing back over to Tori, he laughed a bit nervously, embarrassed by his own actions, and started walking again,
“Right, well, I won’t tell anybody about your freak out if you won’t tell anyone about the noise I just made.”
With both Meister and Weapon having finished being startled by the bees, they made their way into the ice cream shop. It looked a bit deserted, but Dante could certainly see why. It would be rather annoying to try and get in past the bees, and then people would have to see them crawling about on the windows and face them again once they left. Following Victoria, they approached the counter and tried to get the attention of whoever had the displeasure of running the store on such a bee filled afternoon. Hopefully the two could figure out a simple and sting free way of getting rid of the pesky insects. Dante didn’t really want to have to trek home covering in bee stings. His mother would never let him hear the end of it.

Upon their entrance to the shop a chime went off to alert of the door being opened. The students were met with a coldness that greatly contrasted the heat of the outside as they entered the shop. Around them the few customers sat eating the ice cream they had ventured in for, not wanting to leave and face the bees. Over the calm music of the shop the buzzing drone of the bees could be heard as they swarmed around the shop. Looking at the front desk revealed it to be empty for the moment but a simple ring of the bell fixed that.
”Just a minute!” Came a voice from the backroom with a trailing Italian accent. A moment later a plump man appeared from the door behind the counter. He was slightly taller than the student and wore t light blue outfit with the signature skull of Death City. His hair was noticeably thinning but he still wore a rather prominent mustache, seeing the students he smiled at them. ”Yes how may I help you?” After hearing Victoria’s words his smile shifted to a look of relief. ”Ah thank you! I am Ernesto, the one who sent out the request.”
Looking out the back window Ernesto sighed at the bees flying past ”These bees always seem to come back here no matter what measures we take. If you could just go out back and get rid of the hives that should take care of them for a while.” Giving a reassuring smile at the team he waved off the task. ”There should only be a few of them and they like to build them inside things most of the time, though for bees they don’t build very high in the air. A good hit should do the job!”

Victoria glanced around the shop as the little Italian man talked to them. It was almost empty and it looked like a very nice ice cream shop, maybe when all this stuff with the bees where done and over with she might get a cone. Tori looks over the man shoulder to his back door and nodes her head. "One good hit you say? Well I hope that is all it will take." She pulls at her coat to make sure it was on right, didn't want any of those flying devils to get into her shirt, that could pose a really big problem. She then turns and looks at her weapon. "Ready to go Dante and meet our fate that you picked out for us?" It was still very clear by the tone in her voice that she was still annoyed about the first mission her weapon picked. Tori then walks around the counter and heads to the back door. "Come on Dante let go and get the shit stung out of us."
She approached the back door and slowly reached out and opened it. The sound of the buzzing filled her ear and it made Tori visibly shiver at the sound of it. She looks over at Dante and shakes her head sighing under her breath. "Bees, why does it have to be bees?" Well she knew it was far to late to back out of this now and she had the door open. Victoria takes a deep breath and steps out into the back of the shop.
She turns and looks at Dante as he walks out. "Ok first thing is first we have to find the hives and then we have to get ride of them. Like Ernesto said one good hit should do the trick so when we find the bloody hives turn into your weapon form and I will do the rest. Hopefully nothing will go to horribly wrong but then again now that I just said that something will. She shakes her head and gives another sigh at her own word. "All right lets get this started." Tori begins to walk around the back of the shop lifting boxes and other things up trying to find their first hive.

Tori seemed to have the whole talking thing down so Dante took to listening. Looking around, there was thankfully an absence of any bees inside the ice cream shop. That would have been a nightmare to have to get rid of a bunch of bees in a closed space so he was glad that wasn’t what they were dealing with. According to Ernesto, all he and Tori would have to do was give the hives a good whack and that would be it. Dante was skeptical to say the least. Wouldn’t hitting the hives make the bees angry and result in many painful stings for the both of them? Tori seemed satisfied with the information they’d been given as she turned and addressed him. Her tone of voice almost exactly matched his mother’s as she reminded him once again that if they got stung, it was all his fault. The Italian rolled his eyes and sighed,
“I know, I know, I’m an idiot. Let’s get this over with and try not to get stung.”
Following his Meister out of the shop, the loud buzzing of way too many wings hit them instantly. Dante fought the urge to cringe and looked around. Yeah, he was definitely an idiot. What had possessed him to think going after a bunch of bees was a good idea? He’d have to figure out a way to make it up to Tori later, but for now there was the matter of dealing with the bees. The shop owner had said that the hives were around back so that was where they need to go do to get this show on the road. Dante made it a point to avoid eye contact as Tori looked back at him over her shoulder,
“Let’s just try and get this over and done with without getting stung by too many bees. I’ll buy you ice cream after we get rid of the stupid things if you want to make up for my lack of thought process in choosing the mission with hundreds of irritable, stinging insects.”
At least the hives wouldn’t be too terribly hard to find according to what Ernesto had told them. Not that it would have been a problem if the hives were built in the air. Dante likely could’ve reached them and knocked them down for Tori to bash in if that had been the case. Tori’s plan of action of finding the hives and then bludgeoning them into submission with Dante’s Weapon form seemed like a good way to go about getting things done. He nodded in agreement in want to work looking around for anything that looked like a bee hive. While his Meister went about lifting up boxes, he took to looking around the trash cans before jumping on top of one of them and peering inside a nearby dumpster,
“It could be worse, Tori, it could be wasps. Those nasty critters won’t just attack you for no reason, they’ll chase you all the way home.”

It wasn’t a difficult walk to get from the front of the shop to the area of the mission. A simple stroll around the side of the building would lead them right where they needed to go. In fact as far as direction went this mission was pretty much spoon feeding them the information. The glowing sign to show where the ice cream shop was, the owner telling them anything else they needed, and a short walk down a straight alley. Not that the hard part of the mission was finding things, no that was the multitude of bees that swarmed around.
Walking out of the alley they stepped into a rather large open area that was used as a communal back for the shops around them. In the open square there were a few dumpsters for the joint waste as well as crates that had previously been used to store the merchandise and ingredients of the shops of Death City. Luckily all they needed to do was take a quick look around to see what they were supposed to deal with. Scattered around the square were the watermelon sized hives the bees had built. A quick glance would reveal five in total; one on a dumpster, two against the wall, one covering the top of a garbage can, and another growing out of a crate.
Out of all the hives there was only one that was slightly over head height, the one built off the wall. All the others reached no higher than Tori’s chin. It was now turning into a test of speed for the NOT class team, could they destroy the five hives and escape before the pissed off bees enacted their revenge? If they managed to attune their souls and act quick enough it was entirely possible for them to leave unscathed. Of course that task would be more plausible for a higher skilled team using resonance or a long ranged attacking weapon. So it was less if they would get stung and more how many stings could they avoid? What better motivation to work together?

The meister shot her weapon a death glare at the mere mention on wasp. If this had been a mission with wasp Tori just might have killed her weapon over it, it was bees slightly less scary as wasp. "Don't even joke about that Dante had these been wasp I would have let you do this mission on your own." It was still very clear she hated everything about this mission even if he did offer to buy her ice cream after there. She could only hope that her and Dante's souls would work together. Their soul are compatible but it still didn't mean they would work seeing as Tori's soul was overbearing and pushy.
She glances around the ally for a bit getting a good idea of where all the hives where at. She than places her right hand on her hips and used her left hand to point at she talked. "Ok so the hive we are going to have the most trouble with is the one in the crate the others are just on things so it wont be that hard to get at them. So I say that we go for the one in the crate first and then work our way away from it as fast as we can." Fast wasn't really in Tori vocabulary. She was on the slower side never really being a runner and all. Now she wished that she had done more to work on that but it was to late now.
Tori reached up and popped the collar on the coat she was wear to protected her neck and button her shirt all the way up. She then reach up and brought her goggles down over her eyes. It might now be clear to Dante why she was wear so much clothing in this heat because for the most part her body was covered. The only parts of her skin showing was her right hand and some skin on her face. She than holds out her left hand to her weapon and smiles at him. "So I am going to have to improvise with you Dante seeing as you are a stabbing weapon and not a smashing one. At least you are going to be safe while in your weapon from and be a lot lighter as well."
The meister takes a deep breath and gives her weapon a grin. "Are you ready to do this Dante? I have to move as fast as we can. . . And by we I mean me. . . God I am not looking forward to all of this but what can I do now other than smash these bloody hives?"

Ouch, okay so mentioning wasps may not have been the best idea or motivator. Dante really just was not on the ball today. Hopefully he and Tori could manage to get this mission done with minimal bee stings. At least the hives were relatively out in the open, well, minus maybe two. The one in the crate may prove troublesome, and the one further up a wall could be a bit difficult to get to. If push came to shove Dante could switch out of his Weapon form after Tori’s gotten the rest of the hives and put his parkour skills to good use in order to kick it down.
Listening to Tori’s plan, Dante nodded. Given that she was still a bit peeved with his choice of mission, he didn’t exactly want to argue with her, plus it sounded totally doable. Speed would be their best friend in this case if they didn’t want to get stung. Then again he’d be in his Weapon form for most of it so he supposed he didn’t have to worry as much about bee stings at Tori. Still, with her preferred style of dress he thought she should be fairly well protected, or at least he hoped so. Hopefully neither of them were allergic to bees either. Dante didn’t think he was, but he had no idea about his Meister.
Taking another glance around at the hives, he then looked over to his Meister,
“Rapier’s aren’t exactly made for bashing, but I’m sure we’ll do fine. Worst case scenario, you wind up smashing them with the hilt or something.”
Well, it was now or never. It was time to send the wayward bees packing, hopefully somewhere nowhere near the ice cream shop. It must’ve been quite troublesome to have all that buzzing recurring so often around the shop. The blonde side-stepped around the crate and grasped his Meister’s hand,
“Ready as I’ll ever be. Let’s send them packing, Tori, per la vittoria!” ((To victory!))
With that last bit of encouragement, Dante changed into his Weapon form. A pale blue glow enveloped his body for the transformation, the hilt and handle of the rapier forming in Tori’s hand with the blade forming after it. Enveloped in darkness, it took Dante a moment to find his footing. He wasn’t terribly sure of what was beyond the black, but whatever he was standing on was flat from what he could tell. Looking out at his Meister and the hives, he waited for the angry buzzing to start.

The team stood before the challenge of destroying the hives with much expected hesitation. Tori clearly had the more unfavorable end of the deal but both could be in trouble if things ended up getting really bad. Their task was to simply break each of the hives and they could consider the mission complete. It seemed that the only issue was reaching all of them and finishing the job as fast as possible. Maybe if they were exceptionally fast at destroying the hives they could retreat inside before a bee managed to sting them. It was most certainly possible to finish the task without a single mark but the question was if they could manage or not.
As if anticipating the assault the buzzing of the hives seemed to grow an interval quieter. Maybe the team had been lucky and arrived at a time when there were fewer bees in the hives? Whatever the case they seemed to be in a momentarily drop in activity for the bees and faced with a rare opportunity. If they could make use of the lull in activity just maybe the NOT team could manage to break all of the hives without massive injury!
For the moment the loud buzzing of the bees from earlier had been replaced with a low hum that filled the area. The whole space was waiting for the team to make a move and see how the bees would react. Hopefully the duo had some sort of plan to get them all quickly and get out of the alley and into the safety of the shop. Like usual if the hives were destroyed the bees would enter a momentary frenzy before departing and leaving the area alone for at least a month. The key was getting away before the frenzy began.
Unbeknownst to the team Ernesto was not idly sitting in his shop to let them face the threat. After so many occasions he had installed a surveillance system in the alley so he could watch their progress from safety. He didn’t want to distract them with his presence but he was watching them to see how they performed. This was a mission after all and the NOT missions especially were about the growth of the two as a team. It only made sense that they would be graded on their performance for such a simplistic mission. Now what happened next was up to them to decide.

The Short meister took a few deep breaths in and out to clam her self down listening to the buzzing sound. It was now or never if she was going to be stung she would get over it. She moved Dante from her left hand, her dominate one, to her right hand. It was all par of her plane to get ride of the hive that was in the crate. Tori took a few more deep breaths concentrating on her soul. She balled her left hand up into a fist as she begins to put her wavelength into her first. She opens her eyes again, it was time. Tori ran up to the first of her targets and punches it with her soul purge braking the crate and anything in it. She then quickly flips Dante back into her left hand as she turns on her heal and run to the hive that is on top of the dumpster. She stabs the center of the hive with Dante and flips it over her head as hard as she can at the wall on the other side of her. Becoming more and more censored about what little exposed skin she was showing Tori made her way as fast as she could to the other hives.
Even thought Tori was moving as fast as her short legs could carry her she was still a rather slow meister. The next Hive she went for was the one on the trash can lid. When she approaches the can she flips the lid off the can and catches it with her right hand and turning it over trowing it to the grown. There was only two hives left and the bees would be more then likely swarming the meister now. The buzzing filling her ears but it was almost over as she runs to the wall.
One of the hives was a lot easier for her to get to with Dante. Again like the one on the dumpster she stabs this hive as well. But unlike the last she stabs it from the bottom to the top getting the best grip on the thing as she pulls it off the wall drops it on the grown and stomps on it. She then looks at her weapon in her hand. "All right Dante this last one is all you! I can't get to it so do that weir thing you do and bring that last hive down and then lets get the hell out of here." Tori threw her weapon up into the air giving him some good high to turn back into his normal form and get at the hive. The moment her weapon lest her hand Tori over her face trying to keep the exposed skin on it safe from the sting of the angry bees. It was times like this she wished she was faster but at lest she could say that she was made of though stuff.

Dante was just as nervous as his Meister was. Not so much for his safety as for Tori’s, sine he would be in his Weapon form for the most part. On the bright side, this would be an excellent way for Tori to learn how to handle him better. They’d been instructed more to go about bashing the hives and breaking them down more the jabbing and stabbing at them, which was really what a Demon Rapier like him would be best for. All that aside, Dante had no doubt that Todi would figure something out. She was smart; he had every faith in her that she has something hidden up her sleeve.
The Soul Purge to the crate was a brilliant idea, he had to admit. For a moment Dante had been confused since Tori was left handed like he was, but of course her plan of action became quite evident soon enough. He almost felt sorry for the poor bees inside their hives as they were destroying them , but of course that after though that they both would likely get stung anyway at some point made him far less sympathetic. Everything did seem to be going smoothly though with Tori tearing down one hive after the other, seeming to know just what to do. The only problem was that try as she might, she was slower than Dante expected her to be. That made him uneasy as he tried to keep an eye out for the no doubt furious bees that would soon be after them, but they could worry about running later once all the hives had been taken care of.
He’d expected that he would take of the last hive and nodded as she spoke to her, even if she couldn’t really see it,
“Alright, I’ll kick the last one down and then we can get the hell out of here!”
Dante waited a moment after Tori threw him into the air, but not until he was falling. After he knew he had gained a sufficient amount of height, the Demon Rapier was enveloped in a blue glow as Dante changed out of his Weapon form, making to kick the hive off the wall and down to the ground. Trying to spin in the air in order to gain some sort of momentum, his foot connected with the side of the hive and knocked it down to the earth right as he started to fall. Dante landed on one knee almost directly next to the fallen hive. Well, that sucked. Standing up, he quickly made his way to Tori as the angry buzzing began to fill his ears,
“Time to run!”
