His plan worked, obviously, to get Tori to relax after the sudden shift in music. Mow it only a matter of time before all eyes fell on them. Resuming the dance Levi treated it as nothing happened while waiting for Tori to go back to what she was about to say. Unfortunately it didn’t look like she was going to return to that thought. A shame really, Levi was interested in what she was going to say. After all it did involve him so it must be something interesting. Oh well there wasn’t much he could do about it now.
Oh so she had something else to say? To make more people notice him he should follow her? That was an interesting idea. Levi found it nearly laughable that he should follow her but for the moment would restrain himself. It was at least worth seeing what her idea was before he rejected it. Allowing her to do so Levi waited as Tori did whatever it was she planned to do. Recognizing her movements Levi continued to allow her to begin what he knew she was planning. It honestly wasn’t something he was expecting a commoner to do. The lower class was just filled with surprises.
”Not a bad idea babe, but let me show you how a real waltz is done.”
Matching the grin Tori had Levi pulled her closer and took on the lead of the waltz. Still keeping to the pace of the song their waltzing began to grow more intricate. Levi not going to be limited to a peasant’s waltz he led Tori into what he had been taught. All the more involved an elaborate to capture even more of the crowd’s attention. This was no longer an average waltz; this was the waltz of royalty.

The moment that Levi took the lead and made his statement about how a real waltz was done it only caused the girl to grin wider. Did he really think that she didn't know this would be coming? Had she been a normal girl raised by a normal family then yes maybe it would have been a shock to her when he suddenly changed up the waltz, but Tori had another trick up her sleeve-- gloves, she wasn't wearing sleeves.
Tori began to move with Levi perfectly in sink. She knew this waltz all to well, maybe even as well as Levi had know it. She was tough it by her mother, her mother how had preformed for royalty all around the world and who learned the danced of the royals and passed them down to Tori. This wasn't unusual to the meister at all. She moved so naturally with the music and with Levi.
It was funny that this was how Tori really did see how her first dance would go and she had to say that she was surprised that this whole thing with Levi was going so well. It caused the girl to giggle a bit as the butterflies made their way back into her stomach. She was enjoying herself and she couldn't see how this could go wrong. She was managing to keep Levi attention on her and keeps the rooms attention on him, just what he wanted. It was all going to well. Tori tuned her head to look back up at him still with a smile on her face.
"I really like you Levi."
Tori's face suddenly changed form one of all smiles to a look of pure horror and embarrassment. The word had suddenly fallen out of her mouth and now that they where in the open there was no takeing them back. This was what she wanted to say to him before but she thought better of it. Now that it had gone and slipped out she wasn't sure what he was going to say now but she was sure she wasn't going to like it.
The very second that the song ended Tori pulled away from Levi, that look still on her face. She didn't even hear the applause from the people that where watching them. No, Tori just needed to get out of there, get far away from Levi before he could say anything to her. She gave him a fast little bow and then turned tail and ran. She just had to get outside just away from everyone right now, air she needed air! Tori pulled open the door to the front steps and ran out. Only after she felt she put some good distance she finely stopped and took a few deep breaths.
"Victoria you bloody fool why did you have to go and say that? Why to go and make a fool of yourself."
She walked over and sat down on one of the steps her big dress fluffing out around her. She was going to get a few more deep breaths in and then go home and pretend that this night didn't happen. That was all she wanted to do right now.

There was a hint of genuine surprise in Levi from the fact that Tori managed to handle waltzing properly. Not something he would expect from some commoner but it did mean that this dance wasn’t as boring as it may have been otherwise. Based on the grin that Tori had she wasn’t struggling to keep up with him either. Could it be that the British commoner was actually enjoying herself? Well that would be a miracle if he ever saw one. Of course if anyone was ever capable of performing miracles it was certainly him! Levi Kastein, miracle worker did have a nice ring to it but king of miracles sounded even better!
Managing to remain the center of attention was the other perk of this. He had a royal duty to show off in front of these peasants and show them just how great he was. Not paying much attention to the crowd other than noticing that they had their eyes on him Levi did hear snippets of conversations pass him by. Every impressed comment or envious word only added to his already overinflated ego. He would be loved and hated by the crowds of Shibusen but still remain a prominent part in their minds either way, just what he wanted. He could care less about what they thought as long as it was about him!
Returning his main attention to Tori he continued the waltz in the spotlight. Seeing as she did smile perhaps his previous statement of miracles wasn’t far off. However as far as miracles and things he expected a sudden confession wasn’t one of them. This was nothing new to the prince but such things tended to come from adoring fans not those who generally tended to regard him less fondly. It did catch him off guard so he withheld giving a response until the waltz had ended.
As the applause roared Tori bowed and took off before he could get a word in. Even with the usual loudness of his voice it would have been hard to speak over the crowd, perhaps if he yelled it would work but they weren’t worth the effort. As Tori ran off the crowds gathered around him. Not bowing he accepted the applause and cheering in kind now that people were finally recognizing him. Allowing the praise Levi stood as each of his new fans reacted like what he was used to. After a minute he grew bored and broke through the crowd nearly literally to get some space.
Commanding those around him to part he walked where he wanted and had someone pour him a drink. Dancing properly did tire him slightly and a drink would help his thirst. It was peasant swill compared to what he was used to but he tolerated a glass of punch for the moment. Deciding that he had waited long enough for Tori to do whatever she was doing he issued his command for the people to make way and open the doors for him so he didn’t need to touch them. Commanding them to stay Levi walked out and started down the stairs. Seeing Tori sitting on one he continued until he was closer and called down.
”Verdomme meisje!”
Walking down the steps he made his way to the step Tori was standing on and stood next to her. There was no way that Levi would sit on a set of stairs, especially in these clothes, unless they were close to solid gold. Looking out over Death City they were still at a good distance to see out around them even if they weren’t at the top. Keeping his gaze on the city Levi addressed Tori.
”You really are a confusing one you know? The waltzing was impressive but that sudden slip was unexpected. Care to explain babe?”
He was interested in hearing her answer. Even with his great princely foresight he had not expected her reaction. If something wasn’t predicted by him then it was partially of interest. Plus there tended to be an answer given when people did such things around him. Usually it was a simple ‘of course babe, join the rest of the harem’ but this wasn’t as similar of a situation. Levi wanted to hear her reasoning first and have some time to think about his response.

As the British girl sat there looking out at the city thinking about what she had just done a strange feeling came over her. She couldn't stop it even if she wanted to as she suddenly felt something warm and wet slid down the side of her face. She blinked a few times but this only caused more of this strange feeling to her. She was so upset with herself she couldn't understand why of all thing now she way crying. She pulled the glove off of her left hand and reached up to wipe the tears away. This felt all to unnatural for her, crying over something as residuals as this, but here she was sitting on the step of the school crying over the fact that she had just told Levi her feeling for him.
She was just thinking about getting up taking notice that Levi hadn't come out yet. Maybe he had already found someone else to entertain him for the rest of the night and if so than maybe next time she say him he maybe he would have forgotten about her little slip up. Whatever was to happen Tori stopped caring at this point. She removed as few more tear from her face and placed the glove back on and that's when she hears that unmistakable voice.
Her head snapped over in his direction when he called out to her. What was that he was even say? She might have to start learning Dutch if only to know what he was always yelling about. But seeing him walking down to her, calling out to her, it made Tori's heart skip a beat and her cheeks flushed. Having realized what she must look like Tori quickly turned her head away from him again. Her makeup ran a bit and now she way trying to wipe that off of her face before he got close to her. The last thing he needed to know what that she was crying over him.
Tori didn't look up at him as he stopped to stand next to her and she didn't even bother to get up yet. For a moment they both where silent and both of them where looking out over the city. When Levi spoke Tori tiled her head to look up at him. For a few brief second Tori wanted to smirk at the fact that it seemed like the great prince Levi couldn't predict her but then her face fell that the tail end of with statement. She moved her head and looked back out over the city again. He had asked her to explain and a sudden panic filled the girls chest.
A passing thought came into her mind and maybe if she gave him a horrible and stand off ish answer he might drop it and think nothing of her slip up but a voice in the back of her mind said "Why should I do that?" Tori's heart was racing again as she started to play with her gloves. She finely took in a deep breath and stood up to look at him. On the outside she looked as clam as ever but on the in side her emotion and thought where rushing around and she had no idea where to begin.
"You want me to explain?"
She said in her very normal Tori voice, meaning there was the hit of anger and annoyance. She didn't look away from him. This was important to her and if she looked away Tori had this feeling like she would just run rather than tell him.
"All right then I'll tell you. First off I have no idea why it is I suddenly said that. It must have been the moment and the fact that I was having a good time with you and it just must have slipped out."
She paused for a moment to take in another breath to calm her nerves again. She never really thought hat she would have to explain to this man her feelings.
"Levi let me make one thing perfectly clear, you are not my ideal man. You have so many fault that just drive me up the bloody wall. You ate arrogant, spoiled, you think the world revolves around you, you don't respect anyone that is of lower class, you have yourself up so high on a pedestal I'm shock you haven't started orbiting around the Earth and need I go on. There is so much to you that I can't stand. There are so many reason why any girl with a brain in her head wouldn't like you but..."
She stopped again and this time she did look away from him. Her hands ball into fist as she looks at the ground in front of her and her whole body being to tremble again.
"But you have these other... Qualities about you that... I find very attractive. You are a very strong willed man, you wont take no for an answer even if I say it a million times. With that strong will you have got to be one of the bravest man that I know. You can take leadership roles like it's nothing and... One of the most interesting things to me is.. That.."
She looks up at him now relaxing her hand and now he could see why it was she had looked down at the ground to hide her face. Tori's eyes where glosses over and a few tears trailed down her cheeks. She looked to sad, something that was very strange for Tori to look like
"The most interesting thing to me and maybe the most important in this whole list is this. You Levi. You have been the only man to look at me,me and see me as a woman and not just this bossy standoffish person that I have made myself into. I hate it when you call me babe but you know what? When ever i hear you say that it reminds me of what I am and not what I have made myself out to be. Levi up till this point in my life I have never been asked to a dance by a boy. I have never had anyone openly flirt with me. I have always been this... Thing that isn't quite a girl and that is just untouchable by men and now because of you. Damn it hwy did it have to be you of all people! I have finely been seen as what I am, a woman."
While she was giving her rant a few more tears had trailed down her face and now she reached up and wiped them away with the back of her hand not caring anymore if she got makeup on her white gloves.
"That's why I like you Levi."

As an act of generosity Levi had chosen to avoid inquiring too much about Tori’s appearance or state of being. It was hardly her fault after all, being in such close proximity to the great Levi Kastein was enough to sweep the sturdiest of individuals off their feet. Letting her deal with her own emotions and whatnot Levi had no qualms standing on the stairs and looking over the nighttime landscape of Death City. He had seen more impressive sights back at home but this would do for the moment. When Tori decided to speak Levi turned to look at her as she did so.
Her voice seemed normal so that was a good sign. She did say she would tell him and that was exactly what he wanted. Hearing what she said would be a deciding factor in how he responded to her initial lapse in filtering. Levi did not assume about this as there was always that slim chance he was incorrect. No, he wanted to know the truth from the source itself and not his more favorable interpretation of it. It was almost ironic in a sense, Tori had a lapse in her filtering of thoughts while he had to consciously work to not use his.
Initially her response was weak. Blaming it on the occasion and his general ability to be amazing at everything he was involved in didn’t carry much weight with it. Noting that after she took a breath and seemed to be calming herself was what kept him the slightest bit interested. There was clearly more to be told and he wished to hear the story in full. Now this was much more entertaining! Every fault that she mentioned seemed like a positive to him. Under other circumstances he would have corrected her statement about thinking the world revolved around him, he knew everything revolved around him.
He almost wished she did go on if only to provide him with some more amusement. By now Levi took such negative remarks as a sign he was acting properly. The fact that she had so many of these so called faults attached to him only meant that all his efforts were working. No one would have so much to remark on someone unless that person was noticeable and remained in their memories. Levi would not be forgotten and he would not be overlooked! If Tori confirmed as much than the persona he crafted was exactly what he wanted.
Noticing her body language Levi remained silent but waited to see what came of it. Was she faltering with her explanation? No, momentary weakness but she pushed through it to continue; an action not missed by Levi. Hearing the shorter list of positive traits she pegged on him was only fuel to his ego. A strong will, bravery, leadership; qualities he knew were fit for a king. At the least he was confirmed that his attention grabbing persona had not lost the qualities he desired to keep.
Tears were an undesired product of this exchange. Listening to her speak it did make sense to Levi. Sure Tori had a certain feel to her but Levi never thought much of it. She was hardly the most receptive to his actions but Levi never bothered to think about how that would translate to others. Honestly he assumed the difficulty was something primarily given to him. Bossiness wasn’t even a concept to him considering he wouldn’t let anyone boss him around. Perhaps there was more to the commoners, at least in Death City, than he thought. With Tori’s explanation complete Levi took that it was about time he spoke.
”Quite the in depth explanation there. Is this a common thing for people here? If so I might just start to miss the confessions of the girls back in Zwasel.”
Putting his hands together he held them by his face and took on an attempt at a high pitched voice.
”Oh Levi we love you! You’re so strong and great! Please let us go out with you!”
Giving a grin at Tori after his joke he dropped his hands back to his pockets and looked back out over the city. Victoria was certainly a drastic shift from the fans he had back home. They were just so…pathetic. Not to say it wasn’t fun amassing a harem just for the sake of saying he had one but it was boring in every other regard. Seeing them fight amongst themselves for his affections and the band he had gathered vanishing only to be replaced with a new bunch was probably the most entertaining part.
”I guess I can say in return that you’re no princess. Though you are amusing. Essentially the opposite of what I’m used to and I guess that interest me. ”
Having been hit a tad close to home with some of her later statements Levi wasn’t sure how to respond to those. The view of Death City didn’t help his thoughts and neither did the moon dripping blood in the sky. Probably for the best anyway, this was about him and no other outside influence. Turning to look at Tori he raised a hand and pointed at her.
”You aren’t some, thing. You are what you are and what you want to be, that is it. All that matters is how you view yourself and making people view you the same.”
His words were directed solely at Tori and carried a tone of sincerity. Levi understood her oddly enough despite her being a simple commoner. Dropping his hand he remained looking at her while thinking about the situation. An idea developed and Levi opened his mouth to speak again.
”I amend my previous statement, how I view you also matters. Of course you are still a commoner but my view of you has shifted.”
Raising his hand Levi balled it into a fist and gathered his soul wavelength. The Platinum sparks gathering in his fist before he released them to slowly travel down his arm. Placing his arm over Tori’s shoulder he lowered his arm so it almost touched her shoulder before lifting it up and moving to her other shoulder. Done he released the wavelength and stood back to look at her.
”The one time I don’t have Zegen with me… Anyway, a proper ceremony can be conducted at some other time. Regardless Victoria Pelham, I hereby pronounce you a vassal of mine. Consider the honor as you now sit above a commoner.”
Done with his impromptu ceremony Levi did all the necessary switches in his mind to consider Tori a vassal and no longer a commoner. It wasn’t a huge shift but a noticeable one for him at least. Vassals were above commoners and that meant his interactions with them would be different. Extending a hand to Tori he offered to help her up from the steps.
”Now then, how about returning to the dance? It would be a shame to not get use out of these clothes. Besides, leaving the public without another sighting would just be cruel.”

Tori waited on baited breath to hear what Levi was going to say to her. She couldn’t believe that she had just spilled her guts out to him, more or less. Her body was begging to shake again and she thought for a brief and fleeting moment that she might just run away before Levi could even say anything to her. However, this moment vanished and quickly as it had come because Levi had started to talk again and Tori’s mind went blank as she listen to his words very carefully.
At first she thought he might have been mocking her for telling him what he wanted to hear. Her hands balled up into fits and it took a great deal of inner strength not to hit him. But a few seconds later she realized that he wasn’t mocking her at all. Her body froze as she listens to his words again. Well they both had been over the fact that she was no princess and she really had no intention to become one ever. But his next comment caused Tori heart to skip a beat and she had no idea why. He thought she was interesting? Or at least something along those lines. Well her goal for the night was to keep his attention on her and now she saw that it had worked, in a very odd way.
But Levi wasn’t done and the next thing he had said to her made Tori’s eyes widen. Did that really just come from him? She was in sock as that he had just said, that she was something more and she should make other view her on how she wanted to be viewed. Did he really just say that with sincerity as well? Who was this man and what had he done with Levi. But Tori pushed that thought to the back of her mind and gave him the benefit of the doubt. The word he spoke where true and something that she could really take to heart and it just seemed so shocking that had come from Levi. A person she had already made up her mind on but maybe now she would be changing that.
Wow wait a second Levi had come back to her and more a few second Tori really had to stop herself from giving a giggle. He might have not seen how funny that statement was but to Tori it was. He just told her to not let anyone judge her basically but then said right after that but his view still mattered. Whatever the case Tori was going to let that one slid because what he did next confused her again.
She watched him gather up his soul wavelength and moved her head to each shoulder that he put his hand over. What was he doing? He couldn’t be knighting her could he? Tori listen careful to what he was saying and no he wasn’t, but now she was his vassal. Tori cocked her head at this not knowing what the hell that even meant. When he held his hand out to her and said they should both should go back to the dance and get more use out of the clothing this caused a smile passed over her face. Tori took his hand and got up off the steps. She waited a moment before saying anything as she dusted the back side of her dress off. She turned her head just slightly to look at him now and for once she gave him a real smile, not one that hide the sign of annoyance like she normally had when she was around him, but a genuine smile. She nodded her head now agree with this last statement.
”Yes I agree with you let’s get heading back.”
She Turned around and started to head back up to the doors but stopped when she reached the top of the stair and turned back to look down at Levi. She still had that very calm and serene look on her face. It had accrued to Tori that is some strange way Levi had just let her in, maybe not all the way but he let down his wall a bit and Tori could appreciate that because she had also let down some of her wall as well.
”Thank you Levi… I think I just needed someone to tell me that I can be more than what others believe me to be. Also what was up with that whole vassal thing? What does that even mean?”
It was very true that Tori had absolutely no idea what that even meant or how it was going to change the relationship between the two of them. Since Levi seemed to be in a talkative mood right now maybe she could find out what that even meant.

His words seemed to have gotten through to Tori but it was Levi so there was never any doubt. It only took a moment for her to cheer up so things could move on as they should. Now they should get back so Levi did have at least some purpose for wearing these obnoxious clothes instead of his usual attire. When Tori took his hand Levi helped her up to a stand and let her on her own. Judging by her smile she was better so there was no need to have a repeated incident. With her agreement the only things left to do were return to the dance and resume their rightful place as the center of attention.
Tori went on ahead up the stairs and Levi followed behind her. He was a bit shocked himself at what he had said but figured it was for the best anyway. Even if he didn’t know what he was doing it was most likely the right and best option. Besides, it managed to work out so there was no reason to question why. Tori was already at the top of the stairs but it didn’t take Levi long to catch up.
What was this? A thank you, a display of gratitude for his efforts. It was generally accepted to be the proper thing to do but Levi thought not much of it. Of course it was followed by a questioning of his decision to appoint her as one of his vassals. That was a fair question considering he doubted many commoners understood the value of social status so he would have to explain it to them. ”Don’t mention it; a king has to assist his followers.” Stopping he felt his own mental backlash from his words. No, what he did was different. He needed to cement his place as king above all other motives.
Standing before the doors that led into the school Levi prepared to push them open but stalled a moment to answer Tori. ”Oh that? It simply means as far as status is concerned you can now be considered a step above a regular commoner. Interacting in certain ways with a commoner are unbefitting to myself, a vassal however makes that different.” Before she could think of more questions to bother him with Levi pushed the doors open to lead into the school. A crowd of people near the entrance noticing and giving applause at their return.
With the crowd’s response it did occur to him that Tori was seeming a bit too complacent after that little talk, he would have to fix that. Giving the crowd his usual grin he raised a hand and a certain level of silence was established. The music still playing and other caught up in their own dancing Levi had succeeded in capturing a large portion of the crowd’s attention, perfect. ”Your king has returned!” There was some applause but his statement did remind some that the person they had been applauding for his performance was still the same Levi Kastein they knew and hated. Not caring Levi took Tori’s hand and led her inside now that the attention was still on him.
Once inside Levi gave Tori a twirl so she ended up in front of him and from there moved so they were in a position to begin dancing. People noticing believed them to be about to dance again and made sure to watch them so they could see like last time. Levi however had other plans and smirked at Tori. ”Oh yes, in response to your earlier exclamation. You’re not bad all things considered.” Not giving her a direct answer was the only proper thing to do. Though Levi couldn’t simply leave it at that or else it wouldn’t be over the top enough. After his words he tilted his head to look down at Tori and kiss her.
Even if the crowds couldn’t hear what they said they could see plainly enough. Now that she was a vassal he wouldn’t feel filthy for doing so and it provided the added benefit of embarrassing Tori and that was always fun to do, plus it added to the attention he received.

Tori watched him meet het at the top of the stairs and everything seemed to be going well until his comment about how that is what a King does. This only made her roll her eyes at this. He was doing so well just a few moments ago but then again she couldn’t ask for too much from him. If he hadn’t said anything arrogant or refer to himself as king than it just wouldn’t be Levi, let’s be honest here.
She nodded her head a bit at his answer to her question all be it still a little confused to her over all. She wasn’t confused on what it meant no he had explained that to her very clearly. It was still that fact of why he had done it at all in the first place. It just seemed so odd to her and she’s be lying if she said she didn’t feel that there was some kind of angel going on right now. She just couldn’t put her finger on it at the moment but she was sure she would find out soon enough.
Tori got a bit startled when Levi pushed the doors back open to the hall. The sudden sounds of applause frighten the girl for a moment. Had that many people really been watching them when they danced? How did she not have a panic attack earlier with that many people looking at her, she sure as hell left like she was going to have one right now. But that up on hear Levi call out saying that their king had returned Tori rolled her eyes again and a few people close by say this and laughed.
”Good Lord Levi do you ever give it a rest?”
But her mind went a little blank again as she felt his hand take hers. She looked down at it and then back up to him as he led her back into the room. He spun her around so that she was facing him moving into a closed position for dance. Tori looked away from him for just a moment seeing that a crowd was staring to form again in the hopes of watching them dance. A light blush started to form on her face and she turned her head to look back at Levi as he was talking to her again. For a spilt second she looked confused at why he said that and why he was looking at her like that but all was answered in no time as he bent down and kissed her.
Everything seemed to happen so chaotically in the meister mind and body now. Her body decided to do one thing while her mind was trying to determine what was going on at all. Tori face turned a deep and brilliant shade of red when his lip touched hers. Her eyes had such and she had leaned in kissing him back. It all seemed perfectly right and she was enjoying it.
Than her mind caught up with her. Her eyes shot open and grew very wide realizing what she was going. She was kissing Levi! She pulled back from him her face still red and it didn’t help that some students that where watching this thought it might be funny to cat call at the two of them. Tori didn’t listen to the crown as she looked up at Levi horrified at what has just happened.
”What… The… Fuck!”
It wasn’t often that Tori dropped the F-bomb in fact she rarely used that word at all, but this was special moment for her. Her face was still red with embracement and rage now and oh how she wanted to slap him so hard right now but the crowd of people made that very hard for her to do it. She knew a lot of people where watching them and she couldn’t deal with that. She had to completely give one hundred percent of her attention to Levi or everything might just catch up to her and she might pass out. When she spoke next her voice was very low so that other students couldn’t hear what she was saying.
”How dare you. How dare you do that to me! I didn’t give you permission to kiss me. I never once said that you could. I can’t believe you just stole my first kiss from me. And in front of all these people too!”
A sudden realization dawn on Tori’s face as she looked up at Levi again understanding what he had done earlier now. It all made so much sense. He had said it himself. He couldn’t or wouldn’t interact a certain why with a commoner but he could with a vassal. He had made Tori a vassal allowing himself to interact with her defiantly now and what was the first thing he did? Well other then hold her hand that was also something different. He kissed her!!
Tori took several deep breaths to calm herself down. If she didn’t do this she would fly off the handle and might do something she would regret later. She gave Levi a smile now, a slickly sweet, I might kill you in your sleep, smile. She very delicately placed her hands back in their normal pose for a dance.
”Levi when we leave here I am going to kill you understand?”
That didn’t sound like a threat but more of a promise. Tori took a moment to listen to the song that was playing and forcefully pulled Levi into a dance with her. This time she didn’t now let him lead and if her tried to take the lead at all she would step on his feet with her heal of her shoe making the dance physical uncomfortable for him. As they moved around the dance floor Tori wasn’t done yet telling him off.
”I can’t believe you did that to me Levi. Not only the kiss but you made me a vassal just so you could do something like that? Was that the reason why? And what the hell do you mean I’m not bad all things considered?! If I was you I would be careful with what I say. I told you the reason why I like you but if you piss me off like this I might just break that nose on your face and never talk to you again. I could fucking hit you so hard right because of what you did but you are lucky so many people are watching us.”
She hoped that she got her point across clearly to him. She was so pissed off right now but on the inside there was a part of her that was a little happy that she had gotten her first kiss, but there was no way in Hell she would ever let Levi know that. Ever.

His welcome return to the ball was to be expected and the crowd’s reaction was also a foregone conclusion. It only seemed natural to lead Tori out to dance and retrieve his deserved spotlight. The kiss was simply some extra flair to grab more attention plus it seemed fitting for the moment. Tori’s initial response was the usual reaction he would get to such an act and he almost began to think it was simply a universal constant. Her sudden shift in response however was new and not at all what he expected to occur. Not exactly a welcome response.
Really Levi was perplexed at her reaction to such a simple thing. Never before had anger been a response to him kissing someone, well at least not from the person being kissed. The red face was a common outcome but rage was not. Levi as genuinely surprised by this and remained silent enough to hear what it was Tori was saying. Permission? Was that what this was about? Levi did the natural thing and passed it off as more of a commoner thing as he had never dealt with it. It was only a kiss, he didn’t see the dilemma.
Her threat went with any other threat he had ever gotten and went right over his head. By this point death threats were just annoyances to him. If he could take two swords across his chest he wasn’t going to die anytime soon and especially to some pissed little British girl. The dancing continued so at the least he had the attention he so eagerly craved from the crowds around them. Even if the dance was winding down he still managed to keep a sufficient portion of people’s gazes. He allowed her to lead for the moment as to not cause any necessary negative attention to go his way; he could do that fine enough on his own.
Listening to her little rant Levi paid it minor attention. Anger toward him was so common it had become boring. Threats of violence were no longer even considered until they were put into motion. The threat of never talking to him again did add a sense of worry but more so for the thought of losing attention.
”Really babe the whole vassal thing was pretty spur of the moment, I figured why not make you one if I’m going to interact with you regardless. The kiss? That was more of a thanks in a way, you did decide to go to this with me plus you were the one who said you liked me. I figured you would like such a thing. And about you not being bad, well I don’t hate you.”
The anger wasn’t a problem for Levi; he could deal with people being mad at him. People mistaking his intentions so much was an annoyance though. He would try to explain to Tori but whether she understood or not was up to her. He wasn’t going to continue trying if someone was so set on not getting him.

Tori wasn’t looking at him anymore while they were dancing. Her head was turned slightly away from his and her where still red but she was appearing to calm down now. She was a little sip fire and flew off the handle over anything that she didn’t like and she was still pissed about the whole kiss thing and she was little surprised that Levi hadn’t said anything quite yet. Did he just zone out and wasn’t listing to her? Or had her action come as a shock to him and he did know what to do? Whatever it was Tori didn’t care at this point and wanted nothing more than to just leave.
When she hear him speak she turned back to look at him. She was curious about what he had to say. Tori listen and a sudden look of embarrassment came over her face. Oh she had totally missed jugged him on all of that and it was no one’s fault but her own. Her face turned a deep shade of red again but this time it wasn’t out of anger but shame. She felt several emotions all at once: embarrassment, confusion, rage, confusion again, joy and then finely she gave a sigh. Tori leaned her head forward unexpectedly resting it on Levi chest and her shoulders where trembling. It looked like she was crying again but her could plainly hear her laughing.
”I give up!”
She said pulling her head back from his chest still laughing. The song ended and she stopped pulling her hand away from him covering her mouth. She had lost it, so much so that she didn’t even notice the people clapping again and looking at the two of them. She was laughing so hard now she wrapped her arms around waist and lean forward a bit. There was no rhyme or reason to this sudden outburst of laughter but here it was and coming from a girl that not two minutes earlier was pissed off. Tori looked up at Levi again that same smile back on her face as she straitened back up. She shook her head as she shut her eyes.
”My god I don’t know you at all and I really am I fool for thinking that I did. I think you do something for one reason then you tell it from something completely different.”
She reaches up and rubes at her temple now still laughing a bit as she opens her eyes and looks up into his. She places her arms down at her sides now.
”I’m sorry about freaking out on you like that. It was my first kiss and I wasn’t expecting it at all. I freaked because I am scared of being in front of large groups of people and you doing that caused more people to stare at us. I get that you want attention but next time… Don’t make it so public.”
She suddenly realized what she had just said, next time, implying that there would be a next time and for a moment she thought it over in her head. Was it really all that bad? Had the night really gone as wrong as she thought? No not by a long shot. She had issues of her own that she needed to deal with but that didn’t mean that she could blame them on Levi as she had been doing. As for his remark about no hatting her? Well she wasn’t going to push that one. He didn’t hate her and that is what mattered.
Tori had moved forward again and this time did something that even she didn’t expect herself to do. She wrapped her arms around his upper body and placed her head on his chest again, giving him a hug. She tightened her hold on him a little and shut her eyes.
”Thank you, really. I’m so sorry for the way I have been acting. I don’t know how to deal with liking someone…Do you think you can try and put up with me a little while longer till I figure this out?”
The crowd that was near and around them where muttering again most of the people where just hoping that they would dance again but a few where getting into this strange drama that was unfolding. A female voice rose up above the chatter of the others and yelled out to the two of them.
”KISS HIM!!”
Tori’s eyes shot open up on hearing that and she then remembered that there was a group of people that had been watching them. She was in a panic again but she didn’t let go, this time it was a little out of fear from the crowd of people as she heard a few more people yell kiss him as well. The girl that yelled before started to get the others to chant. Oh no that wasn’t what she wanted at all right now.

After his explanation Levi waited to see what Tori’s reaction would be. More anger wouldn’t be an uncommon guess and he was fully prepared for that outcome. It would be an annoyance and a potential cause of negative attention that he didn’t want. At the least such an outburst would grant him recognition amongst the gathered people of Shibusen, not ideal but a start. When her face turned red he awaited the response he expected. The resting of her head on his chest was unexpected to say the least. Levi waited to see what she did next with mild curiosity.
Laughter was not a part of any scenario he had imagined. As the song ended and she moved away Levi heard the applause but his attention was on Tori for the moment. Commoners exhaulting him was nothing new so he could put the applause in the back of his mind to figure out what was up with Tori. Whatever it was seemed to be truly humerous if it had her in this level of hysterics over it.Waiting for some change in this Levi faced the crowd so they could at least get their fill of his greatness and rememeber to recognize him later.
Once Tori began to speak again he turned to her to see what was up. Her explanation was accurate as far as he heard. It was unthinkable to believe any person here regardless of class would have a chance of understanding him. His intentions were not always as transparent as people seemed to believe and unless one could see from his perspective on the heirarchy they would almost always come up with some incorrect conclusion. Listening to the rest of what she had to say Levi remained silent for the moment and listened to her words, the interpretation not lost on him.
”I guess it was a somewhat sudden response. I didn't mean to catch you off guard like that in truth. Don’t worry about the public, I can get enough attention from them on my own.”
Not the most heartfelt response but it was probably the closest to an apology Levi would ever get. Taking note of Tori’s request Levi did note that getting as much attention would be easier with her assistance but that only made it another challenge for him to complete on his own. Taking the easy way just wasn’t fair when he was already so far beyond everyone else.
Again with an unexpected reaction from Tori. Though all things considered a hug at the moment wasn’t as uncommon as other things could have been. At the least it cleared her previous statement of breaking his nose and not talking to him again. Losing her attention after deeming her a vassal would have been bothersome to say the least. Not entirely sure how to react Levi settled for giving a minor hug of his own, which primarily consisted of his arms wrapping around her waist for a few seconds before moving them away.
At Tori’s words Levi suppressed the urge to sigh. All these apologies were growing tiresome. It was made a tad better by her admission that he was not the cause of said actions and simply on the receiving end. Having to put up with someone being confused and unloading their own issues on him was an annoyance but nothing he couldn’t handle. Best was perhaps her statement of him simply putting up with her until she figured out her own issues. Not being assumed as a magic cure all Levi had no problem with such.
”I can deal with a bit more than some misguided actions aimed at me babe, don’t worry about it. If I’ve put up with that I’m sure I can put up whatever you do for a bit longer.”
His attention encompassing the crowd he heard the remarks but did not act on them. For the moment he still had their attention so he was content. Likewise he wasn’t here to please them or act as they wished. His compliance up to this point was a simple courtesy as it gave him what he wanted. By now the dance would probably come to an end soon anyway and he was not going to inconvenience himself to appease the peasantry around him.
When the loud and somewhat familiar voice broke through the crowd he did pay attention though. It started a reaction with the others and more of the crowd seemed to be of like mind. He noticed Tori react to the chanting but did nothing in response as of yet. He allowed the crowd to have their fun in simple likeminded unison. He didn’t see the appeal to their mentality but let it unfold around him. Satisfied he turned his attention and gaze down to Tori to see her response.
”Well looks like the crowd has a request. Seems their looking for an answer too.”
He would see what Tori did in response to the chanting. Levi was in no particular persuasion either way so he could just be a bystander to things and let them play out.

Tori still had her arms around Levi as the crowd chanted what they wanted. Her heart rate sky rocketed and her breathing quickened as she scanned the people around her. There was no way she could get out of this one. She pulled back from his chest now looking up at him. Oh god she didn’t know what to do and the only thing she wanted to do was just run away again. She did look to see if there was a way for her to just bolt but there wasn’t. Tori slowly turned back and looked up at Levi her eyes locking with his. Her purple eyes meeting with his blue ones. Her heart rate didn’t drop at that moment but her breathing did slow down again. Tori bit her lip for a moment and took a breath in. She exhaled closing her eyes and leaning up. She hesitated for a moment when her lips got close to his. She couldn’t have been more than a half an inch away. She opened her eyes just slightly as also had a panic attack seeing how close she was but she was committed to this action. She leaned in pressing her lips to his now. The crowd around them cheered when she finely kissed him. The one that started it may have gotten two excited and was jumping cheering for the two. Tori held her lips to Levi’s for a few more second and finely pulled away. Her face had a blush on it and she sure as hell couldn’t look at him right now. Tori was looking down at the ground now as she reach up tucking some lose hair behind her ear. ”W-Well they got their answer now I just wish they would stop cheering.”At this point the crowd of people didn’t bother her; what did was the fact that she kissed Levi so publicly. She wasn’t a PDA type of girl and this was very much a public display of affection. She glanced up at Levi a little now most with her eyes not really moving her head. He did answer her question earlier about putting up with her but she was still confused about her feeling and in general what the hell they even where now. ”Levi can I talk to you away from all these people? I mean we don’t have to right now I think the last song is coming on but… I need to ask you something all right?”Tori waited for the last song to start and her heart spiked a beat again at it began. She knew this song by just the first few notes and while she really likes the song normally it seemed like an odd time for her to hear it. That may have been because someone high jacked the sound system but she didn’t know it. Tori again had trouble looking Levi in the eye as she moved back into a closed dance possession. The song lyrics just seemed to stick in her ears far more than they should have but she was just going to try and ignore that for now.

Listening to the wondrous music that was the voices of a crowd focused on him Levi was enjoying his time at the ball. Tori hadn’t bolted yet but she seemed anything but adjusted to the spotlight. If the chanting went on for too long Levi would put an end to it if need be. He was all for attention in any form but even he wouldn’t want that much attention placed on his less than flattering exploits. Tori was obviously nowhere near as familiar with such adoration so if she couldn’t handle it he would end it, another instance of his generous mercy.
Looking to see if Tori was handling the attention well Levi was relieved to see she was. That was great considering it wouldn’t cause him to lose all the attention he desired. As he was doing so Tori looked up and locked her eyes with his. Levi was curious to see what she would do next especially if it was an answer to the crowd’s chanting. It didn’t take long to see that this was indeed the case though her hesitation was apparent. Levi allowed her to take her time and managed to get a smirk in before she was too close.
Levi returned the kiss while the crowd gave the appropriate applause. The display should satisfy the masses for a while longer. If the sounds of their reactions were anything to go off of the crowds seemed to be rather approving of the act and hopefully they had their fill. Levi had no qualm with the attention but getting so much from appeasing the commoners was not ideal for him. He’d much rather they give him that attention just because of who he was and not because he was doing something that appealed to their peasant interest.
With the kiss ended the cheering from the crowd was bound to subside soon enough. Tori’s face was averted so Levi couldn’t judge her reaction but considering she hadn’t done anything to escape she probably wasn’t too bothered. Hearing Tori’s response to his previous statement Levi grinned even if she couldn’t see it. The fact that Tori had acted in a way that pleased the crowd amused him considering her less than willing demeanor.
”Don’t worry about it; they’ll stop soon enough now that they got what they wanted, large crowds like this are usually short lived ones. ”
With the dance coming to an end soon the crowd did what he expected. They had their fill of his greatness and now started to disperse so they could get a few more of their own dances in before the official end. Levi had gotten their attention for most of the event so he was content knowing plenty of people would remember the ball as having him as a focal point. Catching Tori glance up Levi waited to see what she was up to now. An inquiry from Levi’s great wisdom? Well if that was the case he certainly couldn’t refuse.
”Sure babe, might as well get one more dance in. That should be enough for anyone still watching then leaving sounds great.”
Levi was more than thrilled to get out of these ridiculous clothes and into his regular attire. These glasses were annoying and didn’t have the same feel as the ones his brother got him. Plus his scars were hidden from plain view and that was a crime to the public in and of itself. In the momentary break between songs Levi waited for the last bit of music to start and bring in the end of the dance.
The song had no importance to Levi but it seemed like a decent enough song to end on. Older songs from America he had minor knowledge of at best and mainly only kept up with current American music if any. Not bothering to think too much into It Levi simply danced as normal as the song ran its course. Anyone still enthralled by his presence could admire him before he left the peasants to their own pathetic existences.

During the song Tori was having trouble making eye contact with Levi. She was just glad that this dance was ending soon and while she was having fun for the most part she had just been in a state of embarrassment for the last part of it. She had done some really dumb things tonight that she thought she wouldn’t do. After the song ended she took a few steps back away from Levi to hive a little bow again. People where staring to leave and it look like now was the best time for them to go as well and for Tori to ask her question that was now on her mind.
”This looks like the best time to leave before we get stuck in the crown.”
Tori honestly didn’t want to get caught up in a crown and it was for the simple reason that she didn’t want someone to step on her dress. She turned and made her way to the door knowing that Levi wouldn’t be far behind her. She opened the door but rather than making her way to the stairs she walked off to the side way from prying eyes and ears as other students made their way out. Tori stopped when she felt she was far enough away from everything. She took a deep breath and turned around to face Levi.
”Okay so the thing I wanted to talk to you about….”
She stops for moment trying to calm herself down. She was getting all worked up again but this was something she left like she needed to ask him or it would drive her nuts. She took another breath and carried on with what she was saying.
”Okay so I am just a little confused and I was hoping you could clarify for me… What are we? I mean I told you that I liked you, you said I wasn’t that bad all things considered, you kissed me, I kissed you, and now I am really confused about everything.”
There she said it. She had gotten it off her chest and Tori never having had a crush on someone before was still lost when it came to simple things like this. She couldn’t help herself but when she took a breath in again she held it. She didn’t mean to but her nerves where getting to her again and she could help but hold her breath while she waited to see what Levi was going to say.

While the song played Levi was mainly focused on simply dancing and providing a fitting finale for his audience. Tori despite any level of distress seemed to be mostly fine with the process even if she did avoid making eye contact for the duration of the dance. Either way it was enjoyable enough for him to not dread, even if he already was displeased with his attire. Even after being in his royal garb for so long he hated everything about it just as much. For hating the attention Tori certainly managed to not show it with her bowing after the dance. Levi made no motion at the crowd and simply took their applause without comment.
”Agreed.”
Her comment was correct so Levi simply agreed with her. Getting caught in the crowd and surrounded by filthy peasants was not something Levi wanted to deal with nor would he tolerate, if any tried to crowd him they would find themselves falling down the stairs that led to the school. Tori headed off quickly so Levi was forced to follow her, to his annoyance. At this point however it stayed as an annoyance and nothing more, plus this was just luck turning against him for a moment before he altered it to his favor.
Exiting the school Levi made his way after Tori and deviated away from the flow of commoners. As they headed down the stairs and back to their mundane existences he ventured off to where Tori had positioned herself. Levi placed his hands in his pockets as he waited for Tori to turn around and spill whatever it was that was on her mind now. The audible inhale and dramatic turn were really unnecessary; if anyone should be overdramatic about things it should be him. Even after that she didn’t say it, was she stalling for even more dramatic effect?
”Come on, just spit it out. ”
Dragging this along was just a hassle for all involved parties. Levi wanted to be done with this so he could return to his current residence and get out of the annoying royal clothes he was wearing. Withholding what she was going to say at this point would be a waste of time now that they were already out here. At least soon after she started to show signs that she would just say what she was going to. After more overdramatic breaths she finally spoke.
Oh so that was all? Levi should have expected as much all things considered. He was almost a bit confused by the question considering he hadn’t had to deal with such things in a long time. Back in Zwasel girls could just assume as much by this point so there was no need to ask him such questions. It hadn’t yet registered that now that he wasn’t at home he would have to go through this all again. It was a hassle to be sure after getting so used to not having to deal with it.
”Hmm you have a point. Well I’ve already made you a vassal of mine so I guess it wouldn’t be much of a stretch if you wanted to uitgaan...I guess that would translate to date here.”
The idea didn’t bother him and his only real problem was having to think of how words he was familiar with translated. Some just weren’t that important to go over when he was learning. That aside he waited for Tori’s reaction. He posed his thoughts as open ended to see how she reacted. Levi was content with either outcome but finally getting some progress on his harem after getting recognition from the public would be good.
