Minsky; Rhett;Weapon
Name: Rhett Minsky
Nickname: Just Rhett
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Weapon
Position: Student
Class: NOT
Partner: Lior Menke
『A Strong Body』
Picture:
Appearance: For his age Rhett is of normal height at 5’7” but underweight at only 137 lbs. Being underweight his body is lacking in fat as well as muscle. His complexion is naturally on the paler side and kept as such from his lack of time spent outside. In contrast to his skin Rhett has dark black hair and dark blue eyes. His hair is rather short and barely reaches the back of his neck. Leaving his hair sloppy it reaches just below his ears and in between his eyes with random strands spiking out. At his ears his hair parts, some spreading down his neck as the rest juts along his jaw.
As far clothing is concerned Rhett can be seen in any variety of outfits. The combination of jeans and t-shirts are fairly common along with a hoodie over the shirt if the weather calls for it. For footwear he prefers sneakers over sandals or boots for their functionality. On any occasion Rhett will most likely be seen wearing the uniform he wore at the school he attended before going to Shibusen. A black button up top with white accents on the collar with a white t-shirt underneath. Along with a pair of black dress pants and dress shoes. He may switch the shoes out for sneakers if going on a mission or something that will require mobility. Upon entering Shibusen he replaced the buttons on his shirt with the skull emblem ones that symbolize the school.
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 137 LBS
Fighting Style: Rhett is not trained in any particular style of fighting and not particularly good at fighting. If he has to fight he would rather take shelter in the safety of his weapon form than do the actual fighting. In the situation that he is forced to fight on his own he relies on avoiding the enemy and remaining very mobile, sneaking in to deliver a heavy hit with his partial form and sneak away before they can get a counter attack in.
Personality: Rhett is a very critical individual. Not being one for physical feats he focuses his efforts on thinking and analyzing. Due to his primarily indoors existence he has utilized his analytical abilities for games mostly of the role playing or strategic variety. Despite his great memorization ability Rhett sports only average intelligence and has a difficult time trying to learn things he is unfamiliar with. Even so he loves to learn new things in the hopes that it will help him distinguish himself as something regardless of his weapon blood.
When it comes to interacting with others Rhett usually tries to act nice to them and not cause many problems. This stems from his lack of physical ability and his effort to prevent physical conflict from happening. Making friends isn’t something far out of his reach but keeping them can be rather problematic. Rhett may come across as nice at first but is lacking when it comes to the socialization department. His behavior may seem strange to most and drive them away but Rhett has grown used to this. Around large groups of people he tends to remain to himself if at all possible. This accompanied with his tendency to make odd or perverted remarks doesn’t help him get along with many people.
Emotions are not something Rhett shows very easily, usually hiding them under a mask of happiness. If he gets sad he will usually retreat to a solitary place and sit by himself. Not showing much outward expression of sadness aside from a solemn face and a solitary demeanor. When angered he keeps his calm smile but will plot revenge against the offending party. If someone manages to truly piss him off he drops the smile for a scowl and will verbally attack them. However it is hard to actually anger him to this level.
『Inside the Soul』
Weapon form: Rhett’s weapon form is that of a giant drywall screw. The head of the screw is a hexagonal shape and around 2 inches thick. In total his weapon form is 1’5” in length with the screw head being graspable by the meister. Rhett’s screw drive takes the shape of an X in the center of the head. The tip and threads of the screw are extremely sharp
Partial Form: Upon entering partial form Rhett’s left hand changes into the head of his screw form. The transformation only goes up to his wrist so he still retains the mobility of his arm in this state.
Resonances: None
『Out of your Mind』
Strengths: Flexible, quick reflexes, photographic memory
Weaknesses: Physically weak, low durability/fragile, very susceptible to madness, asthma
Hobbies: Photography, Lock picking, Reading, Gaming
Likes: Aprons, video games, board games, watching movies, reading
Dislikes: Physical exertion, being discriminated against, spicy foods, forked tongues
Aspirations: Rhett wants to be less restrained by his asthma and not be defined by his being a weapon.
History: On January 14th Rhett was born in Minsk, Belarus to Vika and Stas Minsky. His parents were both considered normal, with no potential as meisters and no active weapon gene. This was a positive as the government of Belaus was strictly antiweapon. Those found to have active weapon genes were usually arrested and treated poorly as less than humans. His parents both being normal they did not worry about Rhett but they did not take into account his extended family. On each line he had at least one active weapon as a grandparent or great-grandparent. Not bothering to consider this they assumed Rhett would not have active weapon genes and forgot about it.
Aside from the weapon issue Rhett was faced with other difficulties that made up most of his life. His primary issue was his asthma as it kept him inside for the majority of his time. Not being able to exert himself for long without suffering an asthma attack limited what he could do until he was given a solution. His family being rather poor it took them until he reached the age of 8 to finally get him an inhaler. With his newfound ability to breathe he began to grow more active and venture outside whenever possible.
Living in what could be considered the slums of Minsk Rhett didn’t wander far from his home but did love to explore around. Soon after he turned 9 his father got a job as a construction worker and their income greatly increased. Rhett was enrolled into a private school and everything seemed to be going fine. Moving to a better neighborhood Rhett was able to walk to school without difficulty even with his asthma. Attending a normal school while his father worked on a construction project for the government kept Rhett and his family normal in the eyes of others.
Things continued this way for years. Rhett went to school and his father continued with his construction job. Not exceedingly wealthy they went on like usual. When Rhett was 14 he went to visit his father after school and he experienced his first dose of madness. A kishin was being hidden underneath the construction site and it was powerful. Rhett was with his father when a wave of madness hit him. Clutching his head he fell to the ground in pain as his body convulsed. His father went to see what was wrong when he spotted Rhett’s hand. It had transformed into the head of a screw and soon after the rest of his body had transformed.
Worried about his son he hid him in his work bag and hurried home. Rhett reverted to his human form an hour later with a headache and no idea what had happened. His weapon blood revealed Rhett was warned about the consequences of him being found out. The madness caused him to grow sick for a week after the incident but he was back to normal soon enough. Life would continue as normal like the incident had never happened.
Rhett however was curious as to what happened and practiced transforming. Without help it took him year to learn how to transform completely and be able to use a partial. He knew he couldn’t show anyone so his talent would remain hidden. At the age of 17 he had control of his transformations and was walking to a construction site again when he saw two people enter. Before they disappeared one transformed into something and Rhett was shocked. He attempted to follow them but was hit with a wave of madness before he managed to get very far.
Staggering he fell and watched where the others had entered. His head throbbed from the madness but he remained in his human form. As the madness grew everything began to twist in his head and he wasn’t sure what was going on or what was happening. Hallucinations and odd urges filled him and he lashed out at them. All at once the madness stopped and Rhett looked around to see his hand covered in blood. In his delusional state he had punched the ground in an attempt to defend himself from the hallucinations. Quickly taking a puff from his inhaler he got to his feet and headed after the figures he saw.
Rhett met them as they were leaving a passage. Due to the antiweapon stance a kishin had taken residence under the city. For years it had preyed on humans and grown, emitting madness throughout the city of Minsk. The madness had permeated into people and lowered their resilience of it after so much exposure. Shibusen had finally caught information of this and sent a team in to deal with it. They explained as much to Rhett and were about to leave when Rhett asked to go with them. He showed them his partial transformation and explained his situation and they agreed.
Returning home he explained things to his parents and gathered his things. They understood and knew he would be safer in Shibusen than in Minsk if he was found out as a weapon. Meeting up with the team from Shibusen they messaged Shinigami about the development and he approved. Withthat taken care of Rhett followed the team back to Shibusen and was enrolled into the NOT class of the school.
Extra Notes: Rhett loves comics and cartoons and will quote lines from them if he feels they are relevant, even if they are not.
Due to his asthma he need to use his inhaler after most strenuous physical activity (5 post after the activity starts) like running, fighting as a human, using stairs, etc.
His favorite types of games are strategy, puzzle, and dating sims full of makeouts.
『Behind the strings』
Alias: The Grand Highblood
Other characters: Dion Key, Fritz Ingram, Draven, Levi Kastein
Face Claim: Medaka Box ,Kumagawa Misogi, Rhett Minsky
RP Sample: Sunlight filtered through the blind into a mostly dark room. The only other source of illumination was the glow of a computer screen. A lock clicked open and the light from the hallway flowed into the room. In the frame of the doorway the slim form of Rhett stood in shadow before reaching into the darkened room to flick the switch on. Stepping into the room Rhett shut the door behind him and moved to the chair in front of his computer. Spinning around he came to a stop facing the screen and reached for a headset to put on.
Clicking on an icon he looked around as the program loaded. Getting up he walked over to the window and looked outside through the half-open blinds. Sighing he shut the blinds and turned to look back to the computer. Still on the loading screen he wandered over to his bed and flopped down onto it. Making sure no one could see him he held out his hand and transformed it into that of his partial form. Looking over the screw head he made a few jabbing motions with it before returning it to normal. Getting attached to his weapon traits would only bring about trouble for him but it was hard for him to give up on it.
Strolling back to the computer he sat down as the screen changed and prompted him for his information. Reattaching his headset he quickly typed the info in and pressed enter. After a series of images it settled on a screen and he smirked at it. A multitude of voices echoed in his ear but he simply sighed and pressed a few buttons.
”What mess did you get into now? It isn’t my job to save your ass you know.”
