Kastein;Levi;Meister
Name: Levi Kastein
Nickname: Your Majesty, Sir, Scourge
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Meister
Position: Student
Class: Two Star
Partner: Irene Dixon
A Strong Body
Picture:
Appearance: Levi is a decent height of 5’7” and has a medium weight that borders the limit of large. Despite his weight nearly making him on the heavy side his body has an athletic build. Muscles are easily visible on the skin that he exposes. This is the result of many hours of training that his required for all princes. His brother has undergone more training as he has been selected to become a knight rather than a king. His skin has a definitive tan color from spending countless hours outside training or causing mayhem. His hair is an emerald green color that he wears messily but also spiked. Mainly his hair spikes in curves to the left of his head. It also spikes up at certain points but also to the left. Levi’s eyes are a clear sapphire blue color. Color wise he is the opposite of his brother.
Levi bears two identifying features that make him easily recognizable. First is the fact that his teeth do not lie flat but are clearly sharp. His brother’s teeth are flat like normal and his father has refused to elaborate on this matter. His mother also had flat teeth but her appearance is slightly but noticeable different from him and his brother. This has led them to believe their mother has passed on and they currently have a step mother acting as queen. The other noticeable feature Levi has is a set a scars that slash across his chest. Both scars are parallel to each other and a slightly pinkish color. He obtained these from an assassination attempt by a disgruntled citizen. The attacker wielded two swords and slashed Levi with both simultaneously. Luckily the cuts were reletivly shallow and did not cause any serious damage. The attacker was quickly reminded of how the province works as Levi severed the majority of the attacker’s fingers and disabled his leg. Guards arrived soon after to apprehend the attacker and rush Levi for medical attention
Clothing wise Levi deviates from what a prince would be expected to wear. This is not too surprising as formal attire is reserved for the current ruling members and only effects their heirs during times of great importance. Even during those Levi finds a way to make himself stand out and upset someone. A pair of black and green boots are his preferred and only form of footwear, save for those included in knight armor. Black jeans of any variety from slim to baggy are his pants of choice. Before he was attacked he mirrored his brother in wearing a t-shirt and hoodie. He would usually wear grays, blacks, and greens in contrast to his brothers white and blue. After he obtained his scars he abandoned the hoodies for a leather jacket that he wears open to display his scars. The jacket is black with flame designs on the shoulders and the arms are frayed and jagged at the ends. Most importantly is the pair of red sunglasses that he always wears. These will either be on his face or resting on his head. These hold value to him as he received them from his brother as a birthday present. This was when they turned thirteen and right before they were told of their fates and started their rivalry.
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 154lbs
Fighting Style: Levi has developed two fighting styles due to his training as a knight.
First is his knight style which he uses while wearing a suit of armor. In this style he relies on the protection offered by the armor to ‘rush’ into the opponent and end them with a single slash of his sword. If this fails he will use the armor for protection and try to keep close to the target while attacking. If he has a shield as well he uses that as a bashing weapon to allow his sword to find flesh. He has also practiced with other weapons like this but uses the same fashion of style.
Out of armor his style changes quite drastically. Without armor for protection he relies on his speed to gain the upper hand. This includes rushing close to the target to deliver a strike that will disable them so he can easily move in to finish them. This usually entails a slash to the legs or arms. His targets are generally the wrist or the thighs because getting a good cut there is normally enough to unnerve the foe. Chopping off fingers is another useful tactic he employs while using this style.
Unarmed he is no stranger to using his fist and legs though he is loath to do so. If physical contact must be made he hits hard and fast. Into your defenses with a punch to the chest to knock you off guard. Follow that with a kick to the head to end it. Now he is least trained in hand to hand combat but does have some experience. He usually uses his hands for distractions or little strikes so he can follow up with a powerful kick. Spinning is also involved while using this style to sweep at people’s legs or clear the area around him.
Personality: Personality wise Levi is not what one would expect for a knight. He is arrogant, greedy, power hungry, selfish, and cruel to name a few of his traits. Also let’s not forget loud, obnoxious, lacking humility, rash, impatient, shallow, and egotistic. He isn’t the knight you want to come save you. Sure he will do it but only if he gets something in return. He is the main attraction and you better not forget that! If anyone steals the spotlight they better be prepared to get squashed. As his motto says ”There are two people in the world, those who get trampled and those who do the trampling.” Levi intends to be the later.
Being raised as a spoiled prince didn’t improve his personality for the better. After learning he would be king unless his brother was better fit for the position he became power hungry. Not enough to stray down the path of madness but he still desires all the attention and power he can. In his mind being better than others and being known to everyone means you have power. Being told he would be attending Shibusen as a meister only managed to infuriate him. Weapons got all the power from consuming souls while meisters had to rely on their weapons to survive. Having to rely on others is viewed as a weakness to him so the notion of being protected sickens him. Not being able to evade this he has decided to find a weapon that allows him to be the one fighting the opponents.
Now let’s see how he interacts with others. To nearly anyone he encounters he will act superior and arrogant. People are just pawns for him to use to become stronger. If they have a problem with that then they should speak up so he can cut them down. This applies to most people but there are a few exceptions. First there are those who had done something to deserve his respect. Be that by beating him in a fight or…that’s about it. Next there are women in general. Being as shallow as he is he generally plays with the affections of multiple girls at the same time. This has caused him trouble in the past but he generally avoids most repercussions. Most of the time at least…
Inside the Soul
Abilities:
Soul Purge- Levi has shown to be gifted in the ability of soul purge. From the reports we have concluded it to be slightly stronger than an untrained soul purge. Also it appears to have a silver color with a hint of green and purple. When he puts effort into a soul purge he can create an even stronger one by sending more of his wavelength into the target.
Ruler’s souls- Levi’s soul is a platinum coloration (with two gems embedded in it, and emerald and amethyst to be precise) but that is irrelevant to what it does. As of current his soul offers only one ability, enhanced wavelength. Levi’s wavelength it more powerful than that of a lowly commoner! Levi’s wavelength is much like himself, powerful but hard to control. On the plus side this makes his soul purges much more powerful than a normal student’s but Levi still lacks the training to fully make use of this. On the downside his wavelength may spark through his fist when he is angry (which happens very often) and he will unconsciously soul purge his weapon the first time he attempts to wield it.
Resonances:
-Koningslied-
Character Name(s): Levi Kastein and Irene Dixon
Name: Koningslied
Type: Soul Resonance
Class: Resonance
Appearance: Responding to Levi’s will Irene’s weapon form shifts to bring out greater effectiveness. The overall length of the weapon decreases to about 5’5” with about 2’5” being the main spike. Speaking of the spike it becomes broader and more akin to a blade. Changing with the spike the flukes extend at the base and straighten but do not elongate. The flukes keep their thickness but develop a very sharp edge and point to form a guard for the main spike. In total the spikes form a crown shape all together. As for color the whole weapon becomes a clean metallic silver that faintly glows. The one spot of color being a light red gem in the center of the crown.
Description: With their resonance Irene takes a form that better allows Levi to draw out his power. Becoming shorter for closer combat and more bladelike for more familiarity. Aside from the bright coloration it maintains a rather simple design that is focused on combat.
The resonance glows faintly not from an external light source but an internal one. While resonating Irene creates a raw connection to Levi’s soul and his wavelength creates the slight illumination. As a result of this anything that touches Irene also comes into contact with Levi’s soul and receives a constant flow of his wavelength until no longer in contact. In return any attacks that harm the soul that hit Irene go straight to Levi while they resonate.
Positives: –Better for close fighting
-Carries a powerful soul attack
-Can be used twice per thread
-Everything that touches Irene is subject to the wavelength
-Levi’s soul purge is enhanced during the resonance
Negatives: –Takes 9 post each to recharge between uses/ Resonance last 8 post each (total 16)
-Levi can no longer focus his soul purges for 5 post
-Makes Levi very sensitive to soul attacks through the resonance
-Lowers attack range
-Can’t use the flukes as hooks

History: Understanding Levi Kastein is much more difficult without first knowing about his family. The Kasteins are the ruling family of Zwasel, a small providence in the Netherlands between Zeeland and North Brabant. Their family was founded on the knight’s code and has remained loyal to that code for generations. Being very small and unnoticeable they have managed to avoid most of the progression that has expanded through the world. Now this is not to say they are behind the times, they just have adapted the current society to incorporate their traditions. Cars and other conveniences exist but they have managed to keep a certain Medieval feel to their land by limiting firearms and continuing forgotten trades such as blacksmithing, bookbinding, glassblowing, and other rarely seen trades. The Kastein family has a genetic trait that makes twin males very common among the family.
With twins being so common it has been expected that they be born to fill in the positions of power held in the providence. The eldest is made the heir to the throne unless they are incapable or removed. The younger twin is made into the leader of the royal guard of knights that protect the royal family. This is taken from their family motto which states “Crowned by Armor”. That is how nearly all the previous generations have been and it continues to this day. The current king, Gregor Kastein is no exception to this rule and his brother Espen currently rules the knights. Gregor is a tall muscled man with deep blue hair and vibrant green eyes similar to Issac, Levi’s twin. Their mother Arabell had light green hair and bright blue eyes, just like Levi. Shortly after they were born their mother was caught in an assassination attempt to murder the new heirs. Before the knights apprehended the assassin she was caught by his sword as it cleaved for the children. The attack managed to slice across her chest and cut deep inside of her. Medical treatment was attempted but her wounds were too great and she succumbed to death, the children were only three months old at the time and don’t remember any of it.
The assassin was charged and publicly hung for his crimes. The king was distraught after the ordeal but needed to find someone to help raise his children. He eventually wed Alva as the children turned ten months and she has been their mother ever since. They don’t remember having another mother but have discovered that she is not their birth mother as they grew, mainly because she looks nothing like them. Her hair is a deep red and her eyes a bright yellow, not too unusual but vastly different from them. Even not being their mother she has raised them like the original parent so they have no complaints against her.
As soon as they were old enough they began their training as knights, as all heirs to the throne do. Levi never understood why Issac was pushed harder but back then he didn’t give it much attention. As twins they were very alike, appearance wise they were the same minus the difference in colors. Besides that Levi had sharp teeth while Issac had normal flat ones. They never understood this but paid it no attention as they continued with their training. Even from an early age Levi was always looking for attention. Once they turned ten they began to visit the towns more often as a way to broaden their knowledge of the land. While out in the towns they even dressed the same, again the only difference being their color choice. Issac had an attraction to blue and white while Levi enjoyed black and green.
On their thirteenth birthday Levi received a pair of sunglasses from his brother that he has worn ever since. Shortly after that their father called them in to speak to him. He explained that one of them would become the king while the other would be a knight. Levi took this to mean whoever was better would be the king while the loser became the knight. This started his transformation into what some call Scourge. During practice he started becoming more violent and started to injure the others, sometimes drawing blood or breaking bones. Out in the towns he started to demean the citizens in order to flaunt himself. This continued until he turned fifteen and someone stood up to him.
While walking through the town and causing his usual mischief he was approached by a boy near his age if not a little older. The boy said that Levi had caused the death of his father and that he wanted revenge. Levi had no recollection of this but played along, saying the boy’s father must have been a coward. This invoked the boy’s fury and he began to attack with two swords. Levi drew his own and defended himself the best he could while someone went to find the guards who Levi had evaded. The boy swung both swords simultaneously and managed to slice Levi across the chest, leaving two parallel scars. Upon seeing the blood collect on his shirt Levi was angered himself that this peasant had managed to wound him and attacked more viciously with his sword. With a few quick strikes he caught the boy on the hands and severed a few fingers from each. Now disarmed of his weapons Levi slashed the boy’s legs and aimed his sword at him while the guards rushed up to apprehend him. Levi was given medical treatment but was left with two scars on his chest. From that day he changed from that mischeivious, power hungry boy. He became worse.
Turns out the boy’s father was the same man that killed the queen. Due to this offense the entire family was punished as to prevent a similar event. Levi discarded his wardrobe of hoodies and t-shirts after that as he was determined to become king and be nothing like his brother. He began wearing leather jackets with flames on the shoulders and left them open so everyone could see his scars. For a time the villagers felt pity for him after letting something happen but that was soon replaced. Levi started causing damage to areas of the town. Fights broke out more often as he began to challenge townspeople for whatever reason he could. Along with this he started flirting with nearly every girl he encountered. He would arrange dates with multiple girls on the same days and for a while went undiscovered. Eventually he was caught but suffered no repercussions because well he’s the prince. Sadly this did not stop him from returning to the same antics quickly after.
No one tried to stop him from this due to him status as prince until he started to date his brother’s girlfriend, Fiona. This went on for a while before Issac found out about what was going on. It was the day after their birthday and Issac discovered them in town. Obviously he called them out on it they had vastly different reactions. Fiona was worried and scared for being found out while Levi merely laughed at his brother. Issac drew his sword after that and Levi responded with his own. They started fighting through the town until they ended up fighting on a bridge over a small body of water. Both were greatly skilled but Issac had been pushed harder in training and managed to get the upper hand. Knocking Levi’s sword into the water he placed the sword at his neck and asked him why he would betray his brother. Levi laughed before stating that the other girls flaunted knowing him in public while Fiona kept it behind his back for so long, and that was hot. Issac lowered his sword and as Levi was about to gloat he punched him off the bridge into the water below. Levi returned home drenched and with his ego wounded.
Shortly after Levi was told he was going to be sent to Shibusen. He thought this was a punishment but his father just wanted him to see more of the world and expand his ability as a meister. The king had soul perception you see and could see the appearance of both their souls. Levi had a platinum soul with an emerald and amethyst attached to it, along with his signature sun glasses. Issac however had a crystal soul that looked as if it was made of multiple gems. Levi had used soul purge in the past and he had seen how his soul helped to increase his power. Issac had soul perception like himself and his crystal soul helped make it clearer for him to view souls. In sending Levi away he hoped that he would be humbled in America and come back ready to be king. Issac was to remain and continue his knight training for a while longer before he would be allowed to travel to Shibusen. In his logic separating the brothers may help them grow.
Extra Notes: Levi considers every girl he meets to be a part of his harem for sloppy makeouts. This means he will generally hit on them constantlyshockerbut he will also fiercely defend them if need be as they are his.
As a knight Levi has a normal sword for fighting against normal humans. The blade is named Zegen which is Dutch for Mercy, this being the only mercy one will see from Levi. Zegen was given to him for his 14th birthday and in his hurried desire to become king he has become quite familiar and proficient with this blade. Fitting Levi the sword is very gaudy, the blade looking nearly white from its reflectivity and the rest of the sword looking like solid gold.
Behind the strings
Alias: The Grand Highblood
Other characters: Dion, Draven
Face Claim: Scourge the Hedgehog (human), Sonic the Hedgehog
RP Sample: Levi was truthfully surprised Theron even had what it took to block his attack. More impressive was that his sword could withstand being in the presence of such a divine blade like Zegen. No use wasting time on details though, in short cape boy wasn’t as pathetic as Levi thought. Regardless Theron was still idiotic for declining Levi’s offer of mercy. He would acknowledge that the kid did have some talent that could potentially grow into something worth fighting against in the future. The fact of the matter now was that Theron was facing Levi so he wasn’t simply outmatched, he was completely out of his league!
Of course Levi was going to make him understand this fact, in a style most befitting the greatness that was himself, by showing just how different the two were. At the sight of sparks what little calm planning Levi had vanished. This worthless excuse for a sword DARED to create sparks with his majestic Zegen! Obviously this transgression against the greatness of Levi and Zegen would have to be righted! Blood was now a very possible outcome but that meant exposing his precious Zegen to the filthy blood of such trash. Theron of course wanted to add to his list of crimes and lunged at Levi.
They were much too close after this. How such garbage regardless of any royalty managed to even get this close to the greatness of Levi was beyond him. This was simply unforgivable but as to be expected Theron took it further. During the lunge the D’metreon had the audacity to look at Levi’s face! Alone this was simply a minor issue but Levi could not allow what he saw to be. Those eyes! Even through the lenses of his glasses Levi could see the recognizable green of emerald in those eyes, just like Issac.
After all these sins what had started as annoyance toward the caped prince has escalated into a familiar rage. The knight persona of Levi began to fade as his prince side regained control. Never was his knight training completely gone though as Levi viewed the attack against him and pivoted out of the way. Channeling his hatred into his sword he released his left hand from Zegen as he pulled the blade to his side. If he so desired the prince would be dead now from Zegen slicing clean through him as he moved the blade, but that was not how one as great as Levi worked.
As the blade was raised one could see platinum sparks arcing around Levi’s right hand with just the faintest hint of purple with them. Arm parallel across his chest and Theron still in the perfect position from his failure of a lunge Levi retaliated. Faster than one would expect Levi whipped his arm across and Zegen obediently followed. The flat of his gleaming blade contacted with that of Sangfroid with a force that could only be described as massive. Theron did not exactly lose his grip on his weapon so much as the strength of Levi ripped it from his hands. Sangfroid was sent flying away only to imbed itself into one of the tombstones around them.
Levi didn’t care that he had just desecrated a grave and potentially pissed off every ghost and ghoul in this damn cemetery. What he did know was that he won, but this fight was hardly over. Sure he had just disarmed the boy but there was a fine line between beating an opponent and crushing them, and Levi fully intended to cross it! Zegen still in hand Levi did the only logical thing and punched Theron square in the face.
Was he done yet? Not even close! Yes he was the winner but he had to make sure he got his message across to this idiotic so called prince. Looming over the downed prince Levi firmly planted his foot on the boy’s chest and lowered Zegen so the tip was nearly touching Theron’s neck. Using his free hand to move his shades back up to his forehead he glared at the loser with a look of supremacy. “Today you were killed by the great Levi Kastein, still breathing only by the generosity of such a glorious king.”
Levi gloating? What a surprise! Clearly he wasn’t done though, he needed to keep those worthless creatures beneath him in their place. “Feel free to challenge me again when you don’t suck, you might be worth killing for real then.” With foot still planted of Theron’s chest Levi removed Zegen from the boy’s neck and returned the blade to its sheath. Ending with an audible click he removed his foot and left the boy to retrieve Sangfroid and wallow in his own worthlessness. Curious to see his work Levi turned in the direction he had sent the sword and saw it impaling a simple tombstone. The cracks that split from the point of impact only aided in accenting his work. A true piece of art!
Reaching the gate Levi took one last moment to confirm his greatness. “Alle buigen voor de koning.” All bow before the king, seemed like a decent way to exit. Satisfied Levi opened the gates and stepped back into the less morbid Death City. Today had been interesting indeed. Met some babes, pissed off a lowly commoner, had an adoring fan praise him in song, was reunited with his prized Zegen, and kicked some worthless kid’s ass. All without a single drop of blood!
Now what to do? Wait, he still had that paper at his home to read…or at least look at. Probably just some note from Achilles about something stupid. Levi had to think positive after such a great day! Maybe it was a letter from one of his many fans! Most likely one asking for a date or the like. Well Levi couldn’t keep his adoring public waiting now could he? And with that he headed home without a second thought to the defeated foe.
All hail the King!
